Well that`s interesting ...
May I ask why you and many others believe that story ?

Here`s a post from 4 years ago with Mendo Joe Skunk . No RKS but .

This one is 3 years old .

I find that story hard to believe . Skunk in mid 70s . Sorry ...

Thanks for sharin

EB .

Hey Elma

make up there own minds.

Everyones entitled to there opinion but the fact is that Skunk has been around since the 70's which can be backed up with some online research.

Anyone that believes that Mendo Joe made Skunk #1 is also stupid enough to believe Sacred Seeds was a collective of many growers. There was only one, me, I made Skunk #1 and I started and was the only seed maker for Sacred Seeds. I did not sell Skunk #1 seeds until the later 70's. I took it to Europe in 1984, others may have taken it earlier who knows as Skunk #1 was a true breeding poly-hybrid and easy to knock off seeds.
If you believe Sacred Seeds was a collective it just shows how far from the truth you are, ask someone that was there, not johnny come lately's that read made up stories on the web and take them as truth.
I can lead you to the truth,
but I can't make you believe or even listen.
No problem, I do know the truth.
As do the people I care about.

Like this bozo, he really does believe it:

Hey Elmer

Well as far as myself and many others believe it was Mendo Joe and the Sacred Seed Collective that we're the REAL creators behind the legend that is known as Skunk#1.

The connection between Joe and RKS is that the RKS was from the SK#1 line which was then bred out when that suit case filled with seeds landed on the Dutch scene.

All of this will be over the day someone finds a real road kill skunk stinking plant from what ever genetics it may be. The day it comes back will change the world, no more bickering and no more rehashing old stories.

I think there is more info about aliens and big foot then there is about actual roadkill skunk, you want to talk about a myth, this is one for the record books, so much folklore and dead ends, not enough actual proof of anything.

Great point HIH, well said.........I too am interested in strain history but at the end of the day I just want good medicine, doesn't really matter what the name is IMHO nor where it came from.

For a grower or smoker, all that is really important is they like it to grow and smoke.
For a breeder, a varieties history and the genetic back rounds of it's parents is important, or should be.
I will admit their are many more growers then breeders.

Just to be clear Sam.. are you stating that Sacred Seeds was neither a collective of people nor a collective of other breeders work? Mel Frank in his interview on youtube spells out a bit of a different story than you do on parts of this story. Namely that both Afghan1 and Durban Poison were gifted to you by him rather than created from landrace lines by yourself (Sacred Seeds) as you have posted.

Afg 1 was given to me by MF, so was Durban, but the Durban had to be bred for several more years to clean up its intersex traits, I selected and bred the Durban I got so it could be used, it was unusable as I got it.
Sacred Seeds never had anyone breeding or making seeds except for me, I created it, I was the sole owner. Over the years I have said that I created or introduced many many varieties, maybe some misunderstandings, and Skunk #1 is one I bred myself. I also got Cal Orange, and a few others that I introduced, with permissions from the original breeders to make and sell the seeds, like I got for Original Haze.
I was just in Calif and MF came over to visit, great guy, always helpful, we never did any breeding work together other then giving each other seeds. He is a stand up guy, when I was in Calif he gave me some O Haze he had grown from seeds I gave him years ago. I also talked to the creator of Original Haze in Santa Cruz, he has not smoked in over 10 years.
Sorry for any confusions,

someone has it.. but whoever has it.. will hoard it till its lost forever.. its to rare. its not passed around freely.. and it still fetches good money....

i wish someone would make S1s of that clone.. but no1 seems to HAVE IT.. but then again.. alot of the older growers in illegal areas.. dont talk about it .. so if they have it.. you wont know... loll..

this is one that if someone has it.. they need to get on that shit.. lol ive only had an 8th of this stuff and i still cant get that smell out of my head. still havent had anything that was like it either.
