These are the same ones i sent T2U. He had good luck with them. I also sent some to Capt Crip, but he had some issues with the seeds. These are seeds I kept since high school. I sold alot of this old skunk during high school. Uncle imported a bunch of it for a very long time out of Texas. These seeds are from 87-90. My uncle would get truck loads of this stuff.

I remember coming home one day from middle school one day. Well, it was close to X-mas. I walk into the dinning room and see a christmas tree box for one of those fake tree's. I went and open it up thinking we got one of these new fancy fake trees. Guess what?, the box was load with buds. My uncle had dropped one off for my dad. Boy, did I get a yelling for going in that box. At the time, they where getting truck loads of christmas tree boxes out of texas. They where boxed to look like christmas trees. I sold this stuff from high school till about 1991 maybe early 92. Then my uncle had to leave the country. lolol. In the sailboat he went and gone.

This is how they came in my hands. I've grown them out once, but this was back in 93-94. Grew out 16 plants in the mountains and they stunk up a storm. I'll get them going once we get our first 4x8. I'll post a link here.
Thanks,
BG

what up billy? long time no hear bro....glad to see your ready for action....i thought the beans were from the late 70's? thats why we were gonna call it pre80 skunk...that name isn't gonna work out well if they are from the late 80's lol.

the stinky skunky pheno's seemed more indica dom with fat leaves but they weren't textbook indica profile but more of a 50/50 structure....out of the small numbers i had to look at....then a couple had more of a sativa profile based on structure..they had big leaves too but the fingers on the sativa type phenos were skinny.

i remember 1 of those sat type phenos smelled just like a peach jolly rancher with a stem rub.......it was crazy...i had 2 different friends check out those plants when i was growing them and i told them to rub the stem and smell it and tell me what it smells like....i didn't tell them what i thought it smelled like cause i wanted to hear what they thought....1 said peach jolly rancher and 1 said them gummy peach candies....so there was definatly some peach going on in that one....i've never had a plant that smelled just like a peach jolly rancher....quite unique.

are you gonna do an open pollination on the first round then do the selections in the f2 generation or are you gonna some selections in the first round?

an open pollination would be nice to preserve the genes, refreshen the seed stock then do the selecting with more fresh beans in the next round.....just selection rks type parents would be nice too....decisions decisions lol.

sorry for the late response i haven't been on the forum much lately.....i've been on hunting and fishing missions lol.

nice hearing from you....glad everything has been working out for you and your plans are coming together.

peace

Morning T2U,

Glad to see you buddy and thanks for the info. Very nice to see you around. To answer your questions. The seeds you and CC got where from one of the package I have stash. That one was label with a date. I have others from dates running along those lines. I'm just trying to be as honest as I can. Don't want to mislead in any way. The pack you and cc got was labeled 78-79. The seeds I'm going to be running are from a larger bag I just stashed them all in. They are from back in the day.

Either way, these are the seeds we are looking for. Before the Dutch got a hold of it. As for the pollenation. I'll take some cuts from what we get and let everything fly. If i see something I like. I then might pair them up. I'll make a bunch of seeds. I figure with roughly 50 plants going and maybe a 50/50% Male Female ratio and a open pollenations. That will be a shitload of seeds. I'm going to try and setup two 4x8 Homebox units and run as many as i can. Will see how it pans out.

Thanks for the info on those plants. Wish you still had them, but I know you had some issues. As for the name or naming. I'm not going to get hung up on the Pre80 name. I'll think of something else. My main goal is to find the nasty stunk in these seeds. Pair them up and get them out to everyone "FREE". I'll then do my thing after this project and go down the lines of maybe a IBL with them. I'll get the F2's out to seedbay and maybe some other sites. The sites can get them out as freebies.

Let me know if I miss anything. Glad to see you and hope your had a nice holiday.
Take care,
BG

SevenSeeds

I obtained a skunk strain awhile ago....it had a distinct smell of burning rubber and like dead animal flesh somewhere along those lines..much trichrome production and the plant would grow tons of growths everywhere with thinish stems but small dense nugs everywhere....wish I kept that strain...anyways peace..

Thanks, I'll do my very best. I think will be good. Once i get all my gear together and my OE project into the flower chamber. I'll get on this project asap. Just got to tie up some loose ends and will be wide open.

Everyone has been wanting these for along time. Only reason i've never got around to them. They stink like hell. I ran some of these back after highschool. Ran two rows of 8, 16 plants. In veg, you could smell them all over the house and out the front door, so we should be good. Just want to make sure I got my carbon scrubber setup for the whole grow.

Hang tight and all will be good. Seeds for everyone.
Later,
BG

much respect to you Billygoat for getting these out to people who really want them.

its also cool your steering away from hype.

i'm well up for growing some proper skunk.

Fuck Hype!

Got lots of friends here and other sites. More then happy to share with all. Once I get my OE seed crop done. These will be up next. I'll get these rolling sometime next month. Germ a bunch of seeds and then weed through the strong plants. I'm guessing around 50 plants. That will all depend on the germ ratio.

I think i'll have a nice amount to select from. Got a nice amount of seeds and last seeds germ amount was good. Hang tight and i'll get these rolling. Just want to make sure i got my 4x8 grow text. I don't want to be fighting odar problems.

Not much longer and these will be going.
Take care,
BG

rks is Not dutch right?

rks is Not dutch right?

im old to growing (1992) but new to buying seeds. i didnt know that skunk meant sweet in dutch. nirvana ice, which is a blend w special "skunk", smells like fruit loops.

rez gonzo 2, was reported as a possible rks candidate, due to his stinky m39. i grew it 2x, and it reeks, but its got the sweet in it. his cross in sensi hindu kush "land race". maybe sensi added a little dutch skunk to their hk?

ice and gonzo 2 were good strains, im not keeping either cuz i dont enjoy the sweet.

also ordered mrn devil, an afghan/skunk. from a reputable breeder, just what we're looking for, right? Wrong, cuz recently i get the smoke report, and it tastes like skittles. afghan/skunk=froot candy? that=bullshart.

north american indica, skunk#2, not rks

north american indica, skunk#2, not rks

my (given to me in) 1992 heirloom is called skunk#2. when it was gifted to me it was a seven yr old strain, so were talkin mid 80s. my friend, who still grows that exact clone, along w me, told me it was skunk#1 crossed to a creeper. thats it. so consider it to be afghan/skunk or nl5xsk1, m39, something like that. but out of all the pics posted around, my sk2 looks mostly like black domina.

i love my s2 even though its not rks. it doesnt have the bright green/orange. 2 yrs before i recd my clone, i smoked rks. it was available and being grown in 1990, buffalo ny and neighboring canada. when sk2 came on the scene, it was considered more commercially viable. less odor 1st of all. improved potency, yield and quicker too.

most importantly to me, its NOT sweet, at all. thats really good news for me, to have a plant that doesn't have any dutch sweet in it. and just maybe we have some rks heritage in the gene pool.

I feel bad for disliking sams decision to go sweet in his selection. it was probably the best way to go. think of all of the fruit and candy varieties that exist now. think of all of the fruit and candy in the grocery store. whats skunky in the grocery store besides heineken?

but sams always seems respectful of others tastes and preferences. he did so much for advancing our community, how can i not be grateful for that?
