Never said Chimera used the tech. I said he claims to have RKS yet wont release it, i am using what he said as an example of human greed and why i think RKS remains a myth to the younger generation who never got to smoke it.

Jeez.. If I had a penny for everytime someone whinges about a breeder having a cut that no one else does. Chimera's been selling seed a very long time. He's known throughout the inner circles of the cannabis scene the world over! A lot of his work will never ever be known to you. Of course he's not going to release seed lines that are even remotely like any of his mother stock (Sweet Skunk being the exception)! His businesses are inherently linked with what he's managed to build up over decades of preservation and perseverance in his field. I can tell you right now Chimera is anything but greedy!!! I seriously suggest you check your words before spilling drivel like that around...

Anything i seen from Canada (never bought, not even for resale,im no punk!) was absolute shit, don't make me talk about the beasters..

Bro, we had roadkill skunk up here back in the day, believe me, From 1980 until around 2000, thats all anyone i knew grew or smoked, as you know, why bother smoking anything else if you had the choice? I do have the genetics still, in the form of a selfed seed, so there is still hope..

Ya i read your story...where did it come from again? in a trailer from America...right?

whats your point? I was just refuting your theorizing that the roadkill skunk never made it into Canada, with your line about all Canadian weed you ever tried was shit.. We grew the roadkill starting in 1980, for 20 years or So. Regardless where the clone came from it was Canadian grown roadkill, therefore, awesome Canadian weed :)

I never said it didn't make it to Canada from America. According to your story you are one of the original Canadian sources, still it came over as clone and had to be breed with something to make seed...not pure RKS anymore. What traits are left?

Actually, no, no seed was ever made. It was cloned for 23 years. Occasionally, late harvest grows would show hermie, and it would make some seed by itself. Thats where my seed came from. It hasn't thrown a male flower though that i have seen, in about 5 or 6 years of growing it.

I am not sure why you think it would have been crossed with something. For example, there is another well known older clone around, called breeder Steve's Sweet Skunk. It is from 1992. It is still cloned, is the same pretty much as 1992. The roadkill had some issues in its 23 years, it lost a lot of vigor after that many years of repeated cloning. I am actually quite amazed how vigorous the 92 sweet skunk clone is still.

@ lime green, I would love to see those grown out. You may have that winning lotto ticket. I can't count the bag seeds I have tossed over the years. From og jack herer blueberry, lots of great pot I thought they were no good seeds because they were from sinsemilla buds.

Now I just found glue pollinated some cherry pie and I went through it like it was a dumpster with a gold ring inside. lol.

Nah just posted it to give the conspiracy theorists something to think about lol Never even heard the story just made it up completely myself.

Like many people said I think RKS was nothing special just good for it's time. I find it really hard to see why people get so hung up on strains of the past. If it was so good like some are claiming someone would still have it. Strains get superseded old mothers get replaced and we move forward. I guess it more about people trying to relive their youth than anything else and can't draw the conclusion that the weed they were having at the time was so good because of the environment they were in and also maybe because they were not veteran stoners at the time.

yea i can see what your saying ,
i liked skunk when it came around ,
at the time there was nothing better ,
but i yearn for the stuff we had before that ,
for similar reasons i guess to what your sayin ,
nostalgia has a bit to do with it ,
gettin older i prefer a different high to what i did when i was first trying skunk ,
back to what first got me high .. (mostly nld/sativa)

i think this is true for many ...

Another kid who has never even tried the variety yet comes in this thread to muddy the waters with bullshit. Self entitlement has become the norm with kids these days, they actually think their opinion about something they know nothing about matters or counts.

WTF are you talking about. You were the one saying you were the little rich kid who got the best buds. I come from the gutter mother fucker not a child a privilege like yourself. I could out grow you and out smoke you any day!

Everyone remembers the time when they were young and got blown away but most people are smart enough to realize this was mostly a tolerance thing not some special mythical government weed that was prevalent at the time and mysteriously vanished because it was so good.

Try taking a break for a couple months, smoke twice your current daily dose in an hour of a trippy strain like Zamaldelica and then tell me RKS is still something special.

Until then STFU douche!

ya but thats total bullshit. if you had been smoking it back in the day, you would know. all of us that did, bow down to her.

I'm not bowing down to shit. If dudes can keep land-race Sativa Panama and Oaxacan clones from the 70's they could have easily kept a simple hybrid RKS variety of such acclaim from the 80's or 90's. Time to grow up and quit living in the past.

Nothing wrong with growing NLD sativas. I got a bit bored of hybrids and am starting to only do Sativas too myself. Also I want to see for myself if all the stories are true about no tolerance limits, no ceiling highs and psychedelic weed. Got me Zamaldelica, Vietnamese Mindfuck and El Dorado (Oaxacan) going now :)

Your right about that, look at nor cal gooey, well over 30 years old and still kicking. She grows just fine for me. I think cultural practices and bad growers cause weakening in plant genetics, I'm not so convinced about the genetic drift theory
