Paz, bad joke. Boo! lol

I'm so glad to see you going back to bolivia, strained. The bolivian herbs I smoked in brazil were very impressive.

Though its still great herb the cts doesn't strike me as being that similar to malawi. The more exotic phenos are like halfway between a green highland colombian and a good mexican.

Ganico, you're a guy after my own heart. Pitbulls and tropical sativas are my two great loves also. One of the reasons pitbulls are such great dogs is that they have such a huge genepool though heavily inbred individuals aren't uncommon but that's for a different thread.

Bh, good point but a beauty like Salma Hayek is 1:1,000,000 I don't think race can account for her. I didn't know uma was Native American. Do you know which tribe?

Hell yeah! I'm not even gonna get myself started on pitbulls anymore, haha.

Back on the topic of sativas: I need to get cracking on some pure southern sativa landraces. I ain't did nan damn thing so far.

I decided I'm gonna get me some Manga Rosa beans, regardless. It looks and sounds too good to not. Fruity mango/tropical fruit tasting resiny pure sativas? Man, I need that.

Ganico, don't forget to answer my question :)

What's the CTS hybridized with? I'll be growing some soon and I'd apreciate the info.

With the cts I've seen two very distinct phenos. One is 11-12 weeks emerald green dense and resinous with more of a stony high. The other is 14-16 weeks more fluffy and less resinous with a soaring high. Someone told me that they talked to a former breeder who said and I coud be wrong but I think its likely that the federation hawaiian and cts sativas were cuttings originally that were outcrossed and backcroosed back to the cuttings several times in a similar manner to their romulan and iss lines.

I'm smoking Manga Rosa now. It truly make me feel good all over. The high is very energetic and thought provoking. I can't stop smoking it. Speaking of hybrids, I just crossed a male Island Sweet Skunk with a Manga Rosa. Hope to find something special in this cross.

Flaca- Very nice! Manga Rosa always sounds phenominal. Overall I want this strain more than any other right now.

Zam, you're dead right, Salma is 1 in a million, what is known as a 'sport' like UK Cheese, however, as good as Cheese is, give me Salma anyday! lol

On Manga Rosa...

On Manga Rosa...

As long as Manga Rosa is the most recent topic of discussion,I thought you all might enjoy reading a post in a related thread by one of the venerable posters here.

This post has been the cause of my adding yet another strain to my "must have" list.

Thanks Dubi!

Re: CTS discussion

Re: CTS discussion

I'm growing (and also smoking from previous clones) a hybrid of CTS x Hawaiian Sativa and if there is some Indica genetics inside, it doesn't show. I bought 10 seeds from Federation back in April 06 and none showed indica traits. Only one of the phenos had a very skunky aroma (capable of filling a room of its smell in 10 seconds). The other phenos have that sort of smell smell and flavor: citrus/pineapple/mango, quite discreet compared to the paranoing skunky pheno. Nevertheless, all the phenos have stratospheric/soaring highs. Quite social weed. Once, with a friend, we smoked this cross all night lung, and even at 5:30 AM, we were not sleepy. I was looking for a non drowsy, energetic, social, herb and God, did I get it! LOL. My prized pheno (cloned from mother to daughter 3 times now) has a pavement of trichomes on its upper leaves. Typically sativa of long and large fluffy buds.

Peace and Pot from Quebec!

Jeezus, that is one hell of a frosty plant for a sativa, looks awesome.

Hi B.H.
The first pic is the same plant as the second pic except it was in its 6th week of flowering. The second pic (1st generation clone from seed) was in its 3rd week of flowering.
the 3rd pic is a 6 month cured bud from the original mother (seed). I was able to reclone my first generation clone and is actually in veg mode. Keeping this marvelous genetic alive!

Heya fellas, what's cookin'...

Just awoke from my period of hibernation and realised it's about time to give those Ecuadorian bagseeds a nice hand-warm bathing.

Thanx for the info on Santa Maria a few pages back. I also enjoyed that Cumbia video very much. Kinda lost it when that guitar player attempted a backward roll with his guitar still on... :D No more ayahuasca for him! And I'm loving the amazon genes those lady dancers are showing. Wouldn't mind doing some breeding with those lol... :muahaha:

Great pics Budelaire! I too am under the impression that CTS is not a landrace in it's pure form. I find it hard to believe Federation would release a pure sativa without having done anything to it. Also, the bud structure seems to second this. Nevertheless a stunning plant and your description of the high sounds killer. If my bagseed grow leads to nothing I sure am going to find me some CTS beans instead. Again, thanx for sharing your experiences and keep up the good work.

I'll keep you all posted on the Ecuador bagseeds of course, as soon as there's something to show. Hasta la próxima...

Just wondering... How susceptible to hermaphrodic(it?)y are most of these strains? Apart from the usual hermie-triggers, are there any specific measures one should avoid or things to do pro-actively in general with South-American plants? Or is hermaphrodism not that much of a problem with these sativas...
