Yeah cameras everywhere. Not the best place for a job…😳
It was all the safety stuff and worse yet was those facilities that made you get a work permit signed every single thing you did. Not talking about shut down or hot work. If you replaced a deadbolt on a door you had to spend 30 minutes just getting a work permit.

Worked on unit 2 at Limerick nuke plant and it was like being in prison. Buzzer to start the day, start and end break and lunch, then quitting time. Most days we were expected to make a 30 minute job last for 8 hrs. After 2 months I had to quit.

my guess is that you have never watched a LIV golf tournament..

I will wager that if you watch an LIV tournament there is a good chance that you will NOT be bored

there are no advertisements , shotgun start ( every player tees off at the same time but obviously on different holes)…

and they only play 3 rounds of 18 holes instead of 4

and LIV has more talented golfers than the PGA
If I see it available here I will try to watch. I'm betting it's online, YouTube etc. I'll check it out thanks sur51 👍

and I bet you had to pick up a badge when starting work and turn it in when leaving the job

yeah , I didn’t like those jobs either

I was able to retire from construction just about the time some wise mother trucker came up with the bright idea of having every worker start out the day with morning stretching , a warmup exercise thingy

Social security and Medicare are 15.3% of your income and your employer pays half of that. The rest goes to keep the government funded. Health-care for older people is LOTS more than for younger people and those old people aren't working/contributing. I don't know the 'break even' on those programs. You know how long someone's collecting vs what they paid in. It's somewhere in the 70's depending on how long they worked. After hens get too old to lay, ya put them down to make room for the next generation. Farmers can't afford to feed unproductive hens. Maybe Elon will start doing the math for senior citizens?
Schools don't teach history any more.

Imagine if you will not having to pay income tax.

That's what tariffs will do.

The US is the BIGGEST economy in the world and it should be a privilege for the world to market to its consumers, OR provide gainful employment for them by building factories here!

For too long (1913) we've been debt slaves to an international banking cartel. If you've studied the history of banking and money you know the Founding Fathers set up the Constitution to circumvent what was going on in Jolly ol' England at that time. It's why Article I Section 10 of the Constitution says: "No State Shall Make Any Thing But Gold And Silver Coin A Tender In Payment Of Debt."

Think about that line and wonder why we're borrowing money and paying interest to a private bank. What happened to gold and silver COIN? The Constitution covers the creation of money well.

Just like the history of marijuana being the Evil Weed... there was a reason they outlawed it and it wasn't for the benefit of humanity. People used to pay their taxes with hemp!

There is something to be said for doing your own thing and not having to 'work'. I think it's ironic so many people in this thread get a government check and health-care but resent others for doing the same.
its one thing if you earned benifits and another when you are stealing from the taxpayers
/that money should go to the people who truly need it

When I read the Constitution, that 3/5s of 'other' people on the 1st page jumps out at me. The Founding Fathers meant for landed white men to run the place. I'd be for that, but that land shouldn't be encumbered with a mortgage, eh?
There's a bit of confusion about tariffs. They come from the Executive branch when all powers of taxation are vested in the Legislature. As Barry found out, as soon as you are out of office, the next Prez can nullify all that. Trump is probably going to do that with the part of the Voting Rights stuff LBJ did by executive order.

Most of the drug stuff is straight up racist against Blacks and Latinos. It was fine for generations to do opium/coke/etc...but the laws passed affected a disproportionate number of minorities on purpose.

The Federal Reserve is just that Federal. It has nothing to do with States minting currency. I'm sure most people in this thread would prefer us to take this to PM's, but when you are posting your version of the truth/history, I'll throw in my 2 cents.

It's interesting to read about the government of the Confederacy. They looked at the same principles from a different angle. Look at the powers Davis had.

Nor should property taxes be applied after the mortgage is paid, essentially we already own nothing and rent forever as well as property taxes inflate and even moreso every improvement you make

You haven't lived until you worked in a sewage treatment plant on the day after Thanksgiving.

Was working in a sewer plant in Philly with this crazy meth tweaker guy we called the pirate, back when people had those Nextel walkie talkie cellphones.

He drops his Nextel in a shit tank. He had insurance on the phone so they gave him another one. 2 days later same exact spot he drops the new replacement phone in the same shit tank.

I looked at him and said What kind of funking pirate are you...dive in there and get that phone.
no shit😊

My grandpa born in the late 1800's was a GP (medical doctor). My mother told me that though they were not rich they were alright compared to many, especially during the depression. Both my parents are depression kids; my dad was actually in his mid-20's when it hit. Mom told me that my grandfather worked extremely long hours, and since my mother's mom died early, the kids had a helper, but generally raised and watched out for each other. Mom said even before the depression, but especially during, grandpa often did house calls and worked for free. He was a doctor for God's sake, and took the Hippocratic Oath seriously. He cared for the needy and poor regardless. Mom remembered her dad receiving barrels of pickles, eggs, chickens, and pigs for payment. Many times unexpectedly and long after the fact. Folks were honest, hardworking, and grateful then. And they were sincere and genuinely caring. We should all remember. Most folks on this thread do. That's why we get pissed off with those that don't.(y)
