That's interesting with the alder. I don't know about now but 25 years ago the forest industry considered alder a waste wood. I was in the process of starting a wood chipping business. After time I found that the product of wood chipping could be profitable. That included alder.it is a cash crop tree around here and we will have them logged next year

Yes, I tried them for effect before we passed them out to cancer patients. We had mixed results with colon cancer patients, and saw both remissions and some no change.Has there been testing on those to see if they work? Perhaps cancer patients?
Agreed, the root balls are impossible for me to deal with with the equipment that I have. I figure by Midsomer I should have all the lumber cut up and burned, and then I’ll hire a gigantic loader and grab all those balls and find a place to put them where I won’t have to worry about it. I will more than likely take them out back into a low area where I can dig a hole to bury them. That’ll probably give me 40 yards a good clean fill… the rootballs are bigger than my front end loaderThat and all the work involved...........
