Welcome in.

Stairs present their own interesting problem. I'm still learning lead with the good going up and lead with the bad leg going down. God forbid I f*** it up and lead with the bad leg going the wrong direction. It just collapses under me and I all but hit the floor so I really have to get it straight in my head before I start up or down the stairs. The place I'm using has six steps to get into the house. Face the railing and sidestep up the stairs.
I have had to do that myself. makes for a slow trip , just moving around the house.worst of it is to have a case of the runs , need to stay close to the bathroom!

* I just dug this up from 2018 - looking back on old threads here - still can hardly believe that I went thru all that shite - and managed to get out of it in 5 long years of lawyers and Judges and loss of family life - today is so much brighter - than during those
dark-dark days -

London cannabis seed seller Gypsy Nirvana faces extradition to US
‘Marijuana activist and advocate’ wanted for alleged activity his lawyers say is legal in UK

by Owen Bowcott Legal affairs correspondent

A British businessman known as Gypsy Nirvana is facing extradition to the US for allegedly distributing cannabis seeds, an activity his lawyers argue is legal in the UK.

Nirvana, who escaped from what is alleged to have been a rendition-style deportation to Los Angeles in 2013, will be in the high court in London on Thursday to resist an attempt by US officials to extradite him.

The 57-year-old, who lives in south-west London, was a roadie for the Clash, drove rock stars such as Ronnie Wood and acted in films in Hong Kong.

He adopted the name Gypsy Nirvana by deed poll 15 years ago and is described by the US as a “marijuana activist and advocate”. He runs his seed-selling business from an office in London.

The extradition claim comes at a time when many US states have relaxed their laws on the production and sale of cannabis, although Donald Trump, the US president, tweeted at the weekend that drug dealers should be given the death penalty.

Westminster magistrates court threw out the first US attempt to have Nirvana extradited. The US authorities, which are represented by the Crown Prosecution Service, are appealing against that decision.

Nirvana is facing trial in the US state of Maine on charges relating to the production, distribution, possession, import and export of cannabis seeds between 2004 and 2013. He denies the charges and a further allegation of money laundering.

Dismissing the US case, the district judge at Westminster magistrates court ruled that Nirvana’s seed business was not illegal under UK law, which prohibits possession and sale of the buds and leaves of the cannabis plant.

Because lawyers for the US had failed to establish there was a similar criminal offence in both jurisdictions, the judge turned down the application.

US officials in Maine launched their legal action against Nirvana in August 2013 when he was living with his wife and children in the Philippines. He was detained there by local police and forcibly put on a flight that would have passed through LA on its way to London.

His counsel, the extradition specialist Ben Cooper of Doughty Street Chambers, told the magistrates court that it was an attempt to subject Nirvana to “disguised extradition”, deceiving him about his removal that would have led to him being detained illegally in the US.

In the event, Nirvana became suspicious of the flight plan and forced his way off the aircraft before it left Manila. He was then held for nearly two and half years in a Philippine prison before being allowed back to the UK where his father was dying. On his return, US authorities launched extradition proceedings against him.

Nirvana told the Guardian: “I have done nothing wrong. These are seeds from a medicinal plant. I have been a legal seed dealer in the UK since the 1990s.

“The seeds do not have any [active ingredient] THC in them. There’s no drug in the seeds. You can smoke the seeds all day and all you will get is a headache.

“But cannabis seeds are considered a schedule 1 narcotic in the US, the same as heroin. So if Trump gets his way they could execute me over the seeds of a medicinal plant.”

Nirvana said 29 US states have now granted some form of legal status to cannabis. He has never been to Maine but has in the past bought seeds from suppliers there.

He spent 30 months living in a cramped prison in Camp Bagong Diwa, a Philippine detention centre, while he resisted the US arrest warrant. Eventually UK embassy officials helped arranged his deportation back to the UK.

The CPS confirmed that the case will be heard on Thursday but declined to comment further. The court is likely to reserve its decision.

You know, if you could compile all the stories just on this site detailing the life and adventures of a younger Gypsy Nirvana, that alone would make for a good book. Even if you just took all the wstories surrounding the adventures of you and that Plural Guy, would make for some great semi fiction. Then of course there are all the stories that aren't chronicled on this site of the life and times of one Gypsy Nirvana you could come up wth a whole series. Sort of a Harry Potter and the wizarding world of Cannabis.

By the way, for anyone wodering and interested i went back to the hospital and finally got that stent procedure done on my heart. Everything went well according to my cardiologist and he seem pleased with how it all turned out I'm not sure how much of a difference it will all make in my life as I'm told I should not try to do anything strenuous for the next two weeks. If it allows me to get back to my daily routine of walking five miles a day then I'll count that as a huge success. Walking isn't exactly what I would call strenuous and if it were the fall I probably would test my walking ability in a couple of days. Unfortunately all this really hot weather with a heat index in the triple digits however, makes it strenuous for a patient recovering from a heart procedure. So due to that I think I'll follow my doctors orders and give it at least two weeks. Anyway, i went in yesterday, had the stent placed yesterday and they kept me overnight for observation just to make sure i didn't blow any gasgets now that the plumbing is working more properly. Of course that all went well and they felt comfortable enough to let me come hoe today which is great. Hospitals are wonderful places in that you can get some amazing work done there but the food sucks and they're terrible places to rest and recuperate, so i was very excited to be able to come home after one night.

Well, that is good you had your stent procedure done and it went without a hitch. Get fixed in the hospital and get out as quick as you can, sounds about right.
The other right thing is to follow their recovery advice. Ask me, I didn't one time and physical therapy was a lot harder because I didn't do what I was told do, when I was told to do it.
It's good to be home.

never heard of it till Doober brought it up. I guess it’s a thing but not my thing…
I had a very similar reaction to Fish Tacos the first time I heard about them but so many seemed to like them it became a regular menu item in certain places. So maybe fish stick pizza is similar? I mean hell, many people like pineapple on their pizza so it wouldn't surprize me if fish sticks became a popular topping choice.

they made fish tacos because the Mexicans knew fish pizza was no bueno and left no room for the version of their country " Mexican Pizza"
This was at least what I was told.
