Looks like we've got the _real_ old-timer, weekend crew here. Anybody got any experience or history with this? Even though I'm an old dinosaur, I don't have any experience with this but I'm pretty sure one person that participates in this thread might:

Living is far out in the country as I do as many downsides. Some days I have to take the side-by-side out into the middle of the pasture to get a phone signal. Nobody delivers out here because of how far out it is. If I want something, I have to go get it and it takes at least 20 minutes to get into the edge of town. I am in desperate need of food from the fridge but I’ve basically been underneath the hot pad since I woke up and don’t know that that’s gonna change.

At least you can get a signal. we've got to get in our car and drive a mile or two until we have a strong enough signal.

Guess that's why they call it a mobile phone.:ROFLMAO:

Which reminds me of another joke where two missionaries were captured by cannibals and the cannibal chief gives them the choice between ungawa or death.

The first missionary chose ungawa, where upon all the male members of the tribe gang raped until he finally hemorrhaged to death.

When asked the same question the second missionary said, " I choose death", where up on the chief reflects on it for a moment before sentencing him to "Death by ungawa!"
Jokerman, you got some competition today. o_O

I lived in the middle of a tree farm in South Georgia. Even tho there was no delivery except for mail and limited cell service, it was worth the trade off. We hear sirens here regularly that most folks that live here don’t even hear. There are some good sounds too. We hear all kinds of wildlife and even colors every morning at 8:00 and at sunset. The base is just a few miles away.

Some of the young'uns on this forum may not believe this, but when I was a kid living in the country, we didn't have cell phone reception either, nor did we have anyone willing to deliver ready to eat food. TIN

Putting together a patio set I bought for the wife. As usual directions are in Chinese I think. Million screws. How the hell do you tell the difference between a 30 ml long screw and a 35 ml. Besides, my rulers are in inches. Got to hit the pipe again and get back to it. So I can spend half the time looking for the tool I am sitting on. See you next week !!!!
The 35mm screws are a bit longer that the 30mm screws. You’re welcome. 🙂

You old farts had it rough! Not me...I am in my prime. Party line....where is the party? I didn't think it snowed in Florida. And I didn't get cable until 1986..... I had to buy a 10' satellite dish.....
January 19th, 1977 was the first time it ever snowed in Miami. I was freezing my ass off, with a large box fan blowing across a 4 gas stove burners. Yeah, I know, what a dumbass but I was working full-time and going to school full-time, I just come off at 11:00 to 7:00 shift.

My ass was _cold_. 🥶
