You've never fished in Florida eh?
😆
I was blessed to be friends with Stan who owned Rocky Point fishing stop.
He spent the winter in the keys and a Brother of mine (RIP) and I would spend a week there a year.
Marathon key ,I need to look at a map to remember.
We smoke much weed whist there
I remember a bar (the no name pub?) with stuffed animals?
FFS ! WTF do i want to go to a bar in FLA.
Went to Key west and smoke some nice rolled cigars and made my ass fatter with key lime pie.
Every day ☝️

to go fishing?
With me... Mebbe.... Hahaha

Sloops-of-War... was the answer to the last question I was asked when I was qualifying as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist... Will never forget it... Much like I'll never forget that the firemain system on my first ship was comprised of 6 inch horizontal loops with 8 inch vertical risers... Or that the RHiB boat is lowered from the main deck via a single-arm, gravity davit....

So much useless info in this noggin sometimes. Was blessed with an interesting memory... But I reckon that's partially due to TBI.

Anyway... Man... I better drink some coffee and shaddap. Enough Hash for now.

A friend who used to do mechanic work up here, and is a pretty good self-taught machinist, as well as a former partner in legalization efforts here over 20 years ago, now living in the SW US, had a discussion with me the other day, maybe a couple days ago, via telephone.

He'd been paying attention to a particular shop that does ratings for components, etc sometimes.

We were talking about oils, and I've been a stickler for Mobil 1, Full-Synthetic, High Mileage in all of our vehicles for quite some time, with a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil added at the time of the oil change.

In the arctic/sub-arctic I exclusively use synthetics, whether gear cases, or engine. Pour rate equates to how quickly the stuff reaches your cylinder walls and rings on cold start-up, and that means engine life.

He sent me a link to the place's YouTube videos showing a rigorous comparative analysis between maybe 10 or 12 (more maybe?) brands of motor oils.

I think I've found a new winner. They're number 2 in the tests, but they don't run the price tag of their number 1, which was Amsoil. I only buy Amsoil for specific applications and when I'm feeling wealthy. Which, with medical bills, isn't as often as it once might've been.
