We both hate salt water softened water so we use a electrostatic softener that doesn't seem to do shit.
Plants and animals seem to thrive on it and its in 100% of what I drink daily.
This is what I am using…So what’s this jacks?

I use a 50:50 mix of Sunshine Mix #4 Advanced Organic with BX Pro-Mix as a base and got mostly away from perlite due to the aluminum content (and the rate at which it breaks down), using mostly volcanic pumice now, with some vermiculite. And wouldn't you know it; a couple years into the volcanic pumice and most places I know of have quit handling it, except for Jeff Bezos' cluster fk.I just use sunshine mix #4.
I was part of an effort to save the Elephants world wide and researched the bee thing. Elephants do avoid bees because they sting them on their snout. My wife just shared the science/trivia facts of the morning.
Elephants are apparently afraid of bees, and they can communicate via stomping on the ground and the seismic vibrations that result.
Maybe the original 'jungle drums'?
My wife says (in all seriousness) that the use of bee hives to keep the elephants out of the crops, has led to a significant/thriving honey production industry now.I was part of an effort to save the Elephants world wide and researched the bee thing. The native protect their fields by hanging hives from ropes surrounding the field. Interestingly, the elephants quickly figure out if the bee hive buzzing that they are hearing is a recording and can't be fooled with just buzzing sounds.
I often told people that whether it was cookies and candy to afford summer camp as a youngster, or dope later on, I could sell those things because I believed in them.dont cha’ have to sell yourself first or some strategy like that?….
A long while back I went to various salts that many were recommending. Messed up my mixes, and I think that was due to already-existing salts of other sorts in the final aggregate.Waiting for the tea to finish brewing.....at least another 30 minutes... everything else is mixed and ready to drench.
@ moose....I use glacial dust.
We try to keep the GSDs away from anything garden related, unless it's tilling season out in the raised beds and spud field. Prolific, high-intensity diggers, they are.Kevin ,(the cat) is a big help in the grow.....into everything!
I add one tsp as top dressing and drench it in....used it for years.... I am a big fan of perlite though.A long while back I went to various salts that many were recommending. Messed up my mixes, and I think that was due to already-existing salts of other sorts in the final aggregate.
A soil person in the forums here, years ago, informed me of the 11% to 14% aluminum punch in the perlite, and the fact that it breaks down in a crop in relatively short time had me transition initially to rice hulls (got unsteamed by mistake, in a 50-lb. bail and as a side crop found myself weeding out a lot of rice in my containers), then eventually the volcanic pumice.I add one tsp as top dressing and drench it in....used it for years....
