Hate to be in Boo’s shoes. Always a sad time when we lose a pet

About 6-7 years ago I started helping a neighbor, he came to me and wanted to pay me to cut his grass and do the work he could no longer do. The price was low and that was ok. I didn’t mind helping.

He dies and we find out the house was in his name only. And his trailer park trash kids was going to take that ladies house from under her. They never married so legally she had no rights. The common law went out in 1994 in Georgia. So now I’m helping her a lot, she’s in bad shape and was absolutely devastated from her husbands death.
She didn’t answer one day and I had that feeling. Found her, she had turned her oxygen machine off and placed the hose on the floor. She’d had enough.
He daughter comes from out of state, and said take whatever you want, she knew our relationship.
So I got a set of tool boxes among other things.

Fast forward to today, 6-7 years later
I am organizing his top chest and I got to the drawer that held SAE wrenches. I’d left them in their original drawer. So the drawer is mostly empty now and I notice the mat under the wrenches is wrinkled. I fold it back to find three bank envelopes with money in them. Over 5K…. It appears I have stumbled across my friends cache of cash. And it makes sense. A man would stick something in a toolbox for safe keeping. That’s something I’ve done.
They are both dead and gone so I reckon I can keep the money. It definitely comes at a much needed time.

Hi DB, just going to say my good bye to the OF thread, I thoroughly enjoyed myself here for the first year but due to the underlying political nature of the thread, I think it's best I move on and leave the thread.
I'm very sorry friend. That really stinks. They tear into me when I talk about being a Democrat and other things but I've learned to just not talk about politics, which I think Is even a rule here. I'm sorry bc man. Hope you stay buddy. 👍

Went to the salad bar at Whole Foods I have bacon, hard-boiled egg, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, samosa, taboulih, yellow squash. And a chicken finger 👍
Chicken finger? Do they have fingers?

The local Chinese restaurant sell sweet n sour chicken balls, but i'm sure they don't have those either.

They are nice though and they must be BIG chickens.

Sorry the underlying politics are so painful that you feel you have to leave Old Man.

As a registered Independent, politics is one of the things on this thread that I just ignore because I see both truisms and radical thoughts from both sides from my perspective.

A lot of changes in both Canada and the US this year so not surprising that a lot of questions and opinions get posted. I personally think open discussion is healthy until the messengers turn on each other.

What do you need from OF thread to remain comfortable and stick around?

I hate to see you leaving old man. I enjoy seeing your posts. I too sometimes leave the thread when it gets a bit heavier than I want to deal with, but so far, I’ve come back as I have some good friends here that I care about even tho sometimes our opinions differ some. I feel we have more in common than we really know.
