That’s what my sister in Vermont says when I go to visit her. She keeps the house at 60° in the winter time and it’s sweltering in the summertime. The last time I went up there I stayed in a motel because I’m not going to tolerate that kind of it indoors. Needless to say, I haven’t been up there in a decade.
60 is way too cold, I keep the house at 78 in the winter

It's about 2C/38F outside the apartment right now - and around 6C/44F inside - at 4.25 am - I'm all wrapped up in 2 stretchy long-sleeved base layers - one with half hand mits - 2 T-Shirts - and a big fleece coat - Sealskin Beanie - thermal fleece lined trousers 👖 - and heavy socks - plus a mug of hot Earl Grey Tea - keeping me warm 😀 - in London England 🇬🇧

in the morning , when ya all on the east coast are drinking coffee , temps inside our off grid tiny home will be high 40’s to low 50’s ….

maybe low 50’s but I doubt it since the low outside will be 38 tonight

otherwise we stay nice and toasty with the indoor propane heater

plans are to head back to colorado in 30 to 90 days

how’s that for flexibility ?…

That's pretty cold. Did you lose a bet or something?

Yes the layers are important , I put so many on I walk like a mummy, I'll have to go out to the landfill and drop off some kibble for the stray cats.

Nope - when electricity is about 35pence/45 cents per kilowatt hour - and all you have is electricity for heat (and we do have electric heaters - for sub zero temps if needed) - it's much more economical to just wear more clothing - we have electric blankets too - so no ones getting frost bite around here 😉

On the very rare occasion we have sub zero temps - I'll turn an electric heater on that burns 1KWH per hour - and heat just one room in the apartment with it - where we can all congregate to stay warm - Loki the PomShitzPoo mutt pup 🐶 - is already dressed for it wearing a dense and fluffy fur coat - he never seems to get cold -

talk about cold

I lived in Guffey for about a year in a small tiny home back in 1977-78. It had a gas heater that worked til it reached temp and shut off - like a heater should. Right after it shut off I could feel the cold rising from the floor almost like a breeze.

I left that cracker box to live in a log cabin just north of the community store. It was heated by an antique Wood Stove. We had to forage for wood. You could see daylight through the chinks.

Buford and Charlie Dell were the old folks living in town. They'd play a dance down at the community store. Buford played piano and Charlie banjo. I had a string bass back then and played as well.

Charlie drove an old green Chevy pickup. Buford had a limp from when as a kid he fell out of a tree and broke his leg. There were no doctors around to set it. He used to come by our place to pilfer wood from our pile. Whenever there was a boundary land dispute the lawyers would seek out Charlie because he knew things about land boundaries. They were probably in their 60's back then?

The Tee Pee girls lived at a small ranch just outside of town in Chumway Park. A rich doctor owned it and allowed them to caretake the place. They made leather pants and vests for the local bikers in Manitou and surrounding areas. The band I played in would play for the biker's parties out at some old barn. "Stitch" was one of the leaders. I don't remember the names of the rest.

17 families lived in the area. Today it's turned into a lesbo paradise of the fat kind. There's a pub there now.

I'm high. I bought some Grape Bambino kief it's 53%. I guess from our earlier talk here there's just kief and full melt? I guess this is regular kief but it sure is good. I did my morning 3 mile walk it was like 25° and I walked 2 dogs. One dog Jessie likes to eat poop. It's a job keeping her from it. Today we got a bagel with cream cheese and she really enjoyed the treat. Hope she doesn't get the shits. Mom is allegedly coming over at 4 to make American Chop Suey ❤️👍
Where do you get the money to pay for all this stuff? YIKES! I just looked it up: Kief cost $30 per gram.

Partly cloud and dry, starting at 30F and predicted to reach 46F.

No A-fib yesterday and clear this morning without taking the Metoprolol. Still taking the Eliquis.

My new smart watch arrived and I've now got to figure out how to program and use it. The destruction sheet is in many languages, but the original was clearly not Engrish. It will keep track of my BP and pulse rate, among other thangs.

No more electrical bids came in, even after I gave them a week with two reminders and a closing date. Guess they aren't hungry and the good news is that the one bid that I got is reasonable and from the company that would be my first choice.

No gym today and nothing on the calendar, so looks like indoor sports and wanton debauchery!
