I find it funny(?) when people do things for a cat thinking ,oh, they are going to like this and they shun it. Do they do that on purpose or they just don't care, or some other reason?
Most cats get rather annoyed when they try to sleep with you and there is twisting and turning going on.
I was having an active nightmare and flung my cat right out of the bed, when he was sleeping between my calves. It was a few days before he ventured back to the bed.
"Sleeping on the forbidden couch," nothing seems forbidden to a cat unless they decide to do so.
It sounds like you have given Melissa every opportunity to be comfy but has chosen her own course.
Sounds like a young girl I knew who liked to say when offering assistance , "I can do it myself."
just got back from a walk with Ivan...seems we have 4 dogs that are very angry down the country road...luckily for all they were behind fences...Ivan charged 1 time until I hit the button on the ecollar...a slight pop is all it took...a prefect gentleman...he's a smart cookie...a very humane way to imprint good and bad to your dog...
I've seen a few photos of Kevin and he is dignified and a impressive size but don't tell him I said so because he would probably give the gesture he already knew that.

I've given up trying to please Melissa, now just try to support her. She keeps moving her new favorite spot around, which currently is my inbox on top the file cabinet and the toilet seat. I put a towel in the inbox in support of her new choice.
She hangs out on the toilet seat in the mornings when I'm making visits, and likes to stand in my lap and have her back scratched, or stand with her back paws on my foot and her front claws on my knee, with me scratching her pack, head, et al.
Melissa is allowed on the couch, but not Miss Layla our GSD, who is the one sneaking on it at night instead of her futon.

Summer was good to Mrs S&S and I.
Stella Blue got herself a new buddy..Meet Scarlet B(right). First 4 days of their intro was a little stressful for sure, but they are playful pals now thus far. Not quite family yet, but working in that direction.
I am back to working in the field again which is a much needed break from the office and being stuck inside all day. We had a project in the Cattskills get off track and I volunteered to head back out to make up for some lost time. I'm clearing 39 miles of boundary line with a chainsaw through the mountains.
I'm loving it!
Been meaning to get on here more with the short days and all, but there is crap for service where I am working and I'm pretty pooped from being out in the cold all day.
Hope all is well with everyone and will try and check in more often.

I'm high too DB, made cookies today, couldn't resist a piece. You got your hands full with the dogs, one that like to eat dog crap and lick your face, especially if you have cream cheese on itI'm high. I bought some Grape Bambino kief it's 53%. I guess from our earlier talk here there's just kief and full melt? I guess this is regular kief but it sure is good. I did my morning 3 mile walk it was like 25° and I walked 2 dogs. One dog Jessie likes to eat poop. It's a job keeping her from it. Today we got a bagel with cream cheese and she really enjoyed the treat. Hope she doesn't get the shits. Mom is allegedly coming over at 4 to make American Chop Suey

. Your boundary line project looks like a great way to keep in shape this winter. Your garden plants look awesome. I just harvested last week and am starting over again. Love your new kitty addition. Before you know it they will be snugged up together. Is that a current plant in that big pot?

Calling for seven days of 36 degree days and 18-22 degree nights. If I wanted to be this cold I wouldn’t live in the South.
