Strange times. I never figured I’d see our country this way. Where it’s so divided, both sides are afraid of the other winning because it could mean the end of our country. Hate for the other side is rampant. Families are splitting. Friendships broken.
All because of political affiliation or moral differences.
Not that difficult when someone ventures forth ready to stir the pot. Just say: excuse me, busy, pardon me, or sorry...
That topic can only lead to disenchantment overall. As you notice the regulars here shy away from it for good reason. We seek harmony here, except in isolated instances, as Subbie puts it, where someone comes forth for "discipline".:spank:
A few of us here also have and practice another solution::It's called abstinence. Go figure, eh .. :giggle:(y):giggle:

The older generations never annoyed me - because I always thought that due to life experience and the amount of accumulated knowledge over many years - each older person was a potential Oracle of information - that could be useful or interesting to know - so I would usually prefer to be in the company of elders - even as a young man - and even now as an older man of nearly 65 years - I'm drawn to listen to the aged 😀
You know you have reached middle age when you stop being annoyed by the older generation and start being annoyed by the younger generation.

For me, it was a time of awe and outright hero worship for my elders -- Lt. Gen. Edward Walter Snedeker commanded a regiment at Iwo when he was a colonel. My Unca Irv was a P-51 pilot shot down while strafing... and then capturing 600 Germans. My Unca Harry was in the 1st Div at Omaha Beach (he gave me his brass-knucks dagger that had been on his hip as a wedding present).

When any of them spoke within earshot of me, I listened while holding still.

It's my perception that my generation was raised to have greater respect for the wisdom of the aged.

We even had more respect for what any adult had to say, because both our parents and strangers could also discipline us without going to jail for assault.

And yet more rain, starting at 45F and predicted to reach 54F.

I got my hip x-rays done yesterday and the results from the hospital, but not the analysis from my doctor yet. The technician that read the film said they were only mildly arthritic, but I wait with bait on my breath to have the acute displaced fracture or traumatic misalignment explained:

Findings: Acute displaced fracture or traumatic malalignment. Mild bilateral hip joint space narrowing. Symphysis pubis is maintained. Sacroiliac joints are maintained without diastasis. Pelvic phleboliths. Degenerative changes in the imaged spine. Atherosclerotic calcifications.

Impression: Bilateral mild hip osteoarthritis without acute osseous abnormality.

I took my first pain pill for my back this morning and we will see how they work out.

A text last night from a tenant after I had gone to bed, informing me that the shower at one of the units won't turn off. I put in new first class plumbing fixtures there about 2005 so I infer it is just a failed seal.

You know you have reached middle age when you look down just prior to lathering up between your legs, and you see some funny gray hairs that have appeared. Likewise, if you're a woman, when dying your hair is no longer an option. The only elders that ever bothered me were the strict constructionist authoritarian type. Jeesh, get a real life already!:poop:

The weather here is going from one extreme to another. From flash drought to flash floods. Under a flash flood watch for the next 3 days. Weather modification at its finest. The chemtrails have been thick for the past week. This slowed down and shifted the oncoming storms to bullseye where the drought has occurred over the past 90 days.

They are getting better at it.

Need to get the gardens tilled in this morning and put the fence back up around the greenhouse. Tired of stepping on the landmines the dogs leave in the front yard. They were leaving them in the back before the greenhouse was built. At least Ribeye's pies are visible and can be stepped over. His yard days are numbered, no matter what Blondy says....

I know some folks say weather modification is a conspiracy theory’ but as far back as the Viet Nam war, the US govt has used it on enemies.

And Bill Gates is funding ‘research’ into seeding the atmosphere with salts to reflect sunlight ostensibly to cool the atmosphere.

Edit:take note that neither PopSci nor Scientific American are considered ‘right wing’ publications. Pre-COVID, they were revered as arbiters of scientific truth.
