I started my days in Florida on the south side of the north bridge to the skyway standing on a jetty and throwing a yo-zuri delta top water for snook and tarpon.
Soon as the sun upped the bite turned off and time for work.
I've caught a fair number of Snook in Terra Ceia Bay myself. :headbange

Zara Spooks and Rattletraps were effective, and in winter I'd go to the bait shop and get huge handpicked shrimp. If fishing was no good, I had a mid-day snack of fresh boiled shrimp!

In fact...I built an aerated cooler specifically to keep big shrimp in, just for eatin'. Drilled a bunch of small holes in some PVC pipe, fed it with a small 800 gallon/hour 12 volt boat bilge pump.

Blue Ice in sealed baggies keeps the water temp down and slows their metabolism, and a couple days with no sand means no grit in the 'mud vein'.

Before I could afford my own fishin' pole, I caught Blue and Stone crabs with a chicken neck and a piece of string - drag 'em slow, right up to shore, then scoop 'em up with a net. Wouldn't take long to get enough for a family meal, with all the trappin's, and we only lived a few blocks from the river.

I hear ya, couldn't use a fly rod now if I tried, can't pull a bow back anymore cuz of shoulder.
I got Stenosis of back and neck.
Spurs on my neck.
5 herniated lumbars have a wrist that's bad.
When I get a big fish on I have to let others bring it in.
Can't do half what I used to do.
Retired carpenter, used to be a Lineman back in my 30s and 40s.
Just a worn out muscle man now
Speaking of muscle men...my daughter was dating a clean, no-drug bodybuilder ('til he finally had enough of her emo shit and dumped her).

One of the nicest, most laid-back guys I've ever known, and I loved him to death.

Found out yesterday, the boy is juicing. Damn it all. I may have to call him tomorrow.

Anna Maria Island, Snead Island, and Terra Ceia Bay were my haunts.
And my fishin' holes.
I spent many a night sneaking into the st. pete power plant on old tampa bay to do winter fishing...the water was far warmer than the bay or gulf...snook when caught was around the pilings at the broe=rien bridge downtown tampa...tarpon off the gandy bridge was a hoot...

I have never caught a Tarpon myself, but I have a picture of my nephew with one he caught in Tampa Bay.
A shark took the entire center section out of it as he was reeling it in. It was still big enough he had to have two buddies help him hold it up, too!

I refuse to work in the kitchen next to my wife. I love her no end. She's a dear and kind, warm, wonderful human being.

But I'd rather cut off my own fingers and deep fry them than work beside her in the kitchen.

I stay out of the the kitchen....period. I have my chores and she has hers. We have lasted 50 years together using this method.

I have two grills - one's a ceramic and the other is a plain old charcoal grill that I've modified a little.
I also have a two burner Coleman propane gas stove. If I'm cooking, it's usually on one of those.

I stayed out of the kitchen with my wife ,now ex.
Too many knives..
My ex once got mad at me and slammed a steak knife down into a ceramic plate, point first.
That serrated blade went up her pinky finger and sliced it open right down to the cartilage.

She was not amused when I asked her "feel better now?"

She was mighty hot, but my lord what a violent, angry bipolar c a nt she turned out to be.

That dinner plate could have been my breastplate! < shudder >
