My nickname in high school was speed racer… I’ve always been into cars that go fast and have very little regard for speeding… I’ve been pulled over five times in the last six months for excessive speed. Fortunately, for myself all I’ve gotten was a warning…. I’m doing my best to use cruise control now, but it just doesn’t seem as much fun
I drive with a heavy foot. I'm cautious and courteous, but I drive fast. My wife says I make her nervous.
But she tailgates, and has had three speeding tickets. I've never had one. Go figure.

A husband and wife were talking one day.
That day the stars aligned with the moon and she was a little fatoots and in a mild ..mood.
She asks her husband " How many beers do you drink in a day?"
He replies "four" She then asks"How much are they?
He replied "$ 5.00 each"
She replies " Thats $20. a day ,thats $140.00 a month ,thats $1680.00 a year. In twenty years thats $ 33,600 enough for a new car!"
He replied " How many beers do you drink?"
She replied " None ,I dont like the taste"
He replied " Wheres your new car?'

I remember trying to get a pig on a leash to walk a mile down a beach on Palawan years ago - he was to be the star 🌟 of the barbecue that Saturday night - and he seemed to know it - so dug his heels 👠 in - so I had to figure out how to solve this urgent problem - the sun was going down - so time was tight - eventually I was set on floating/swimming him down there - and so I got him and myself into the sea - and we both swam to the bloody barbecue <lots of squealing noises>

I've always had a heavy foot and can't tell you how many speeding tickets I've had over a lifetime, but a lot. I've given up on extremely high performance cars and still have to use speed control on the freeway or I will start inching ahead.
We raised pigs when I was young. They were pretty cool for the most part. Smart.
And...bacon. :)
We did too and we made the mistake of making close friends with the first one. He was highly personable and would come when called as well as follow us around, grunting and rubbing on us, soliciting a scratch between his ears.

We had someone else slaughter him and still ended up giving his meat away to some needy folks and stopped making pets out of the pigs.

Many years ago after my divorce, I decided to buy myself a very fast sports car. When you take a BMW M roadster and put supercharger on it that little six cylinder screams. When I was going through chemo, I was quite depressed and decided to see how fast my car would go because I didn’t care what the outcome would be. As I’m driving its speed, I notice an orange reflector on a white fender stuck in the woods so I immediately decelerated and slow down so the officer could catch me. He was flipping out because I was doing an excessive 200 miles an hour. When I explained to him my weak mental state because of the chemo he realized That I wasn’t the bad guy… I was fortunate enough to have an officer who was compassionate, he radio ahead, and had two officers looking for me as I was heading home, and if I did not go past both cops, they were going to put a bolo out for me… needless to say I never killed myself in that car and I’m quite pleased with that…

Had a friend who was a surveyor for Brookhaven National Lab for the nuclear collider.
Surveying is a lot more than mapping out building plots ( as you know!)
I worked as a "boundary" surveyor for the first 5 years of my career. The last 20 I was considered a "design" surveyor.

Most of my work was in the energy sector (transmission lines), and for different government entities. It's provided me with the opportunity to see and experience things that most people don't get to. An example would be working inside of maximum security prisons for months on end or locating active runways at major airports. It's been a fun way to pay the pay the bills with a ton of freedom.

I just did something I said I would never do and took a promotion that landed me indoors. I'm the new field coordinator at my company and will be managing anyone or thing that has to do with the field work.

I'm trying to get efficient as soon as possible so I can start scheduling my self for the occasional day in the field.

Long response just to say, yep I know.

Yeah Bud, me too, and I'm sure the rest of the patrons in this clubhouse agree!

Short term memory is a hobby of mine. I do believe you are from down the road from me? Cheektowaga, maybe?

Order of things that jumped out in the picture:
1-Sabres hat

2-I believe those are your reservoir tanks, but they look like commercial sprayers either ipm or foliar feeding could be both.

3 wd40

4 rock star status with the strings and Amp

5 plant skeletons

6 middle finger

Entirely too stoned to focus anymore.

this place reminds me of atlanta at rush hour...long gone are the days of knowing almost everybody that posts and some knowledge of all posts that are current...it's difficult to just check on what's new because there are a zillion threads...I miss the intimacy but not the lies and deceit that became prevalent there...I certainly burned the bridge with hippie and angie, called both liars many times on my last night...they're just sad people with no lives...my post count is very low, it's hard to keep up with such a large community...I enjoy you guys, the core of my friends online are yourselves...if this group were to dissapear my posting would cease...I'm sure there is plenty I don't know about growing flowers but I'm not learning much as of late...

I enjoy the energy in this thread. From the weather to Irene, fishing, weed, humor, @Unca Walt ...It's all here. I must say, you old codgers & codgeresis have created an enjoyable thread.

With that being said, I can talk gardening all day long. I feel a little apprehensive about starting a more in depth growing conversation here. An example being, asking @Putembk more about his idea when he suggested a layer of perlite, or getting to know how @bigsur51 preps for his growing season. There's a wealth of knowledge here and I definitely get the vibe I'm not the only one who enjoys a good grower conversation. I am in fear of mucking up the daily debrief, weather reports, laughable humor, banter, clipboards... with too much of the in depth growing talk. @SubGirl can we designate your thread for "grow" talk?

S&S, keep in mind, that many of us have been friends for decades, and some of us have only been friends for a short year or two, but there is an awful lot of love in this thread, I would say more in this thread than any other thread on ICMag… You being the odd man out, seem to have fit into our group very well, and I would like to extend the formal welcome to you…

Thank you @Boo

I am probably the youngest and newest in the group, but I'm an old soul and know good company when I'm lucky enough to find it.

Of course you can grow talk on my garden page anytime (everyone is welcome to SubGirl’s Garden but I gotta tell ya we sometimes drift there too. 🤪 We all like weed talk and you can ask anyone either here or there anything and we will talk about it. Don’t worry about jumping in anytime with weed talk. I like to have a place where I can go back and look at past history dates and such as I’m not one with a whiteboard and a bunch of logs like some here. I wish I were more organized like that but I’m just not in real life after retirement. That portion of my brain went to pot so to say so having a garden page makes more sense to me. But yes grow talk is always welcome on my page or here. We are all friends here like boo said and drifting is just what we do. 🥰
