Ok - so I don't see us old farts here striving for a better life particularly - more like just surviving and striving for a bit more life - with a bit of quality in it - as for the opposition - to interact against - we've all been doing that for decades - simply by growing a plant 🪴 in purgatory - and if that pisses them off - then tough titty - and that's just fine with me -

But onsite - we need peace ✌️ and harmony - so that the members are comfortable here - and anyone that comes here to erode or destroy the peace - gets a short or long vacation from ICMAG - free of charge -
Some thoughts: I personally only come to this site for enjoyment.

The fish trap exists only because of the fish. What fish are the brothers and sisters trying to catch that makes creating disharmony on this site enjoyable to them?

True communication is a concept communicated and the same concept received. A wise man once said nothing.

Somewhere in my eight decades I learned that sometimes I have to cut brothers and sisters some slack for being stupid or misguided in my non-prejudicial, all-knowing omnipotent perspective, to retain the sites harmony.

Hard to do sometimes when my ego strongly feels the need to unmask their stupidity in front of the fellow site denizens, so as to dazzle everyone with my own brilliance.

We have a heat advisory moving in for Tue - Sat, 90's +
That is going to stall out doors projects so.. today and Monday,
I must get my lazy arse out and get a few things completed.
Then I'll retire into the AC and take care of long left inside stuffs.

Yesterday, my lovely new neighbor assisted in moving a huge
pile of composted wood chips to the front easement; that the
workers decimated and then left in horrible condition :(
Lumpy, bumpy w/ stones + a very sandy soft DIRT to boot, ugh.
Not conducive to good water run off and a definite ankle twister while mowing :(

After the piles were dumped, I decided we needed a landscaping rake.
Off to the HD we went. I discovered that he has only had his drivers
license for 15 days! I am typically not a good passenger and all too
often ride my passenger 'brake pedal' haha.
I was not freaked out at all. He is a very conscientious driver.
I told him so also.
Man oh man, that landscaping rake is the shizzle! What a game changer.

The gal down the street has a line on 'spent' soil from a group of
local growers. They have been dumping it (w/ permission) behind
an old church and we are welcome to go harvest all that we desire :)
I am certain the soil still has enough nutrients for growing grass in
the front yard. I will also harvest compost from the compost bin
and add that in for some loveliness I'm certain that will benefit
the greenery :)
Saweeeet! Free or inexpensive materials is my middle name :)
So... today we will be shoveling soil into ye ole Chevy bed and
spreading it out in her yard and ours... yay.

As an adoptee, don’t take it to heart if you don’t get a call. I vacillate between forgiveness and disdain of my biological mother. It is difficult to square being given away with parental instincts. In my case, my mother was young and under control of her puritanical parents. I was adopted by pretty good parents and was raised as I was raised. It can’t be revisited. I never met my biological father and he didn’t know I existed until a few years before his death. I never met the man but still think of him on Fathers Day. I am guessing your daughter has similar feelings. All you can do is be there for her if and when she realizes that giving up a child for adoption is as devastating to the biological parents as it is to the adoptee when they find out they were given up. My biological mother suffered for years not knowing what became of me and was relieved to meet me and my family when I was about 30 years old. She has since pissed me off by banning my family from her home based on a medical decision we made in 2021. Happy Father’s Day to you.
My daughter was born while I was in college and my girlfriend was like oh can you take care of like a 6 month old and I couldn't cuz I was still in college so they put her up for adoption. That was in 2008. I haven't heard anything. Maybe when she's 18 she'll write me. I'm doing my morning 3 Mile Walk I've got my dad shirt on it's like a polo with like watermelons on it

I would have to do it pre coffee also so as to allow the coffee
to pleasantly wash away the poop smell/ taste :)

I love kitty cats but will not have a house cat and the #! reason is...
having and cleaning a litter box.

Now, that said;
I spent 7 wks total thus far this year doing just that for my neighbors cat
whilst he and his housemate went on vakay. I even toted the
bags of poop out of the house each week to dispose of so they would not
have to deal with it upon return.

Yanno... I fed that cat and scooped the litter box each day for nearly 50 days
this year alone and that danged cat still would not come to visit w/ me :)

#2 reason I'll not have a house kitty... they are certainly obstinate creatures for cripes sake haha
You have really get to know a cat. Once that happens, everything changes and you get to meet someone very interesting and see a side that was hidden. Until then, you just get responded to.
