I come from a military fambly. But today is special; my beloved Unca Harry gave me this as a wedding present back in 1959:

He was in the 1st Infantry Division. Landed at Omaha Beach just to the left of Pointe du Hoc.

That knife was on his hip. It is in my safe right now. A treasure.

LATE EDIT THOUGHTFUL ADD: If you think about it, precisely 80 years ago in exact time AS YOU READ THIS my Unca Harry was in heavy combat. Doesn't matter where you are sitting to read this... His first three days were without sleep. Boomies were boomy-ing all over right by him.
My grandpa was there going up that cliff.
Got shot in the neck by a german officer coming up the rope.
He got to the top killed that german and tied a rag around his wound.
Said he thought he was gonna die anyways and wanted to kill as many germans as he could before that happened.
Took three days to get medical attention and he was in combat the entire time.
He went on to become a electrical engineer for honeywell and made a few predictions to me as a kid that were amazingly accurate........ he said we would be overthrown by the left under the guise of equality.
I would be ashamed to look him in the eye today.

I would have to do it pre coffee also so as to allow the coffee
to pleasantly wash away the poop smell/ taste :)

I love kitty cats but will not have a house cat and the #! reason is...
having and cleaning a litter box.

Now, that said;
I spent 7 wks total thus far this year doing just that for my neighbors cat
whilst he and his housemate went on vakay. I even toted the
bags of poop out of the house each week to dispose of so they would not
have to deal with it upon return.

Yanno... I fed that cat and scooped the litter box each day for nearly 50 days
this year alone and that danged cat still would not come to visit w/ me :)

#2 reason I'll not have a house kitty... they are certainly obstinate creatures for cripes sake haha
I am slaves to my two cats. I’ve been emptying the cat box for years as I’ve always had cats. I’m thankful that they use it as they would be kicked outside. I’ve lost 3 outside cats to coyotes at my old place so that’s the reason they are inside cats

My brother has a cat box that cleans itself. You just have to empty the bottom when it’s full. I can imagine that bottom part is overflowing. It’s a smart box too he gets an alert on his phone that the bottom box is full.

I'm guessing that evolutions reason for leaving us with pubic hair was to deal with friction and the reason the ladies of the night were shaving their pubic hair off, was to enhance its appeal, as well as deal with crabs and lice.

Thinking like an engineer, could it be that the Merkel was someone's brainfart to deal with that conflict?
I always thought pubic hair was inventd for those days before someone came up with dental floss?

Been thinkin' about Unca Harry. I wonder if someone here could help.

I clearly remember him showing me a device on one of his ribbons. It was about the same size as an oak leaf or star device, but it was a chubby spear point.

This device was awarded for being in a "spearhead operation" <-- His words. I cannot find an example.

WAIT!! I found it:

The Arrowhead device is a miniature bronze arrowhead that may be worn on campaign, expedition, and service medals and ribbons to denote participation in an amphibious assault landing, combat parachute jump, helicopter assault landing, or combat glider landing by a service member of the United States Army

Yay. My memory did not play me false. And yer Grampa got one, also @dogzter

These tiny bits of brass are VERY hard to come by.

My dog Zoie passed recently.....killed me and Mrs Pute. She was our child bless her heart.

I waited two weeks and got two cats. They have totally bonded with us and have replaced the hurt of loosing Zoie.

I will protect them till the day I die. They will never go outside.....to many critters here.

I call it my "happy home maker"
Best thing is... no batteries to fail at
the most in opportune moment haha.

Has interchangeable heads too.
Only maintenance required of me was
to eventually replace the 1940's old cord
and well... sanitizing after use.

An independent woman of the world
is able to take care of herself :D

Cool thing... it was gifted to me from a friend in '82
who found it in the attic of their old house haha.
Talk about longevity!

I don’t think huffing the iodine is safe. It can cause respiratory problems but I’m glad it works for you tho. I do the netty pot when I feel something coming on which helps
My respirologist gave me a netty pot, with the warning only use boiled water. It was later I read about the person who got some kind organism from tap water that started devouring his brain.

With the iodine if there was a nuclear attach I could use the iodine.
With my lung disorders I won't take chances, I need to make sure I am not going to make matters worse than what they are.
