Back to a good day numbers wise after a month or so of lower sales. Hey now. People were definitely taking advantage of the higher flower (28 grams) and extract (5 gs) limits. Add the holiday/Saturday hype and subtract two fewer hours we were open today and things are already looking better on day one of olcc licensing.

Opened for 5 hours today and stayed busy. I also saw a lot of new faces/first timers which happens to coincide with the fact that today is the day a dispensary had to have their olcc license or revert back to med only. I think we'll keep seeing refugee customers from former competition

Yah, rec weed sales from med dispensaries are now a thing of the past. Sad that... I liked last year's buying options. They have some time to get their act together to flip to rec sales though, until March I believe? I am lost in all the latest temporary updates put out by the OLCC. I do not have time to read them all. They finally seem to have all the grow requirements listed in one place though. Its a mind boggling list.

Here is this: http://www.wweek.com/news/city/2017...oll-back-regulations-on-portlands-weed-shops/

As of Friday, OLCC had licensed 73 Portland retail businesses, while the city's Office of Neighborhood Involvement had approved just 21 retail businesses, as of Monday. (ONI did not have updated figures as of Friday.)

So if that means that over 50 new shops could all go legal on the same day, could put some short term upward pressure on wholesale prices I guess, not sure if it affects the rest of us though.

The U.S. Spot Index held largely steady last week, rising marginally to settle at $1,615 per pound. Rates for flower cultivated in warehouses and out in the open were both up, by almost 3% and 5%, respectively, compared to the prior week. In doing so, national-level prices for indoor product approached $2,000 per pound, a level not attained since July 29th. Pricing for greenhouse flower declined slightly, but still settled above the $1,600 per pound threshold.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens to medical prices. I spoke to a medical dispensary owner earlier this week and he did all of $120 in sales on 1/1/2017. He's been told that it may take 2 months for all the applications in Portland to be processed. I suspect that there won't be enough rec flower to go around and prices will shoot even higher.

16 Counties and 72 Cities that won't get squat when the tax money gets doled out. I hope the next county down from me can get Ferrari's for cop cars.

Ya, it was 12 degrees here last night. I still have snow on teh ground from last week. We had HUGE winds through here 2 days ago and I lost power for a day here. They had to run a 1/4 mile of new power lines along the road just north of me yesterday. Roads are iced over.

Here is the full list from OLCC.

I was reading that after the OLCC posted it after my power came back on. Seems that the opt out vote in Linn County failed. So all the counties east of the Cascades are no-rec zones, except for Deshutes County. And all the counties west of the Cascades are rec-weed zones, except for Douglas and Marion Counties. Most of the opt-out towns and cities are in eastern Oregon or around Portland and Eugene.

As for weed tax money, that is all going to pool here on the west side of the state. Also some munis opted to add the 3% tax on sales, and some did not. From Oregon state general sales tax on MJ sales, this is where the money goes above what is spent to regulate rec weed in the state:

40% to the state's Common School Fund, 20% to mental health, alcoholism and drug services, 15% to Oregon State Police, 10% for city law enforcement, 10% for county law enforcement and 5% to the Oregon Health Authority for alcohol and drug abuse prevention, early intervention and treatment services.

Friends, moving from Santa Cruz County to begin new organic project in Oregon. the newpatientconnection website is so poorly run that it is offensive. Anyone have any other outlets for finding patients. I know OLCC is taking over the scene, but I will never stop fighting for patient's rights

Much Love

Out of staters (particularly from CA) seem to fish for patients most effectively at: visitdontstay com. Alternative sites include "wehavetoomanygrowersalready" and "surewewillgiveupourindustrytowhoeverasks".

Best of luck (notreally.org).

Big changes might be in store for the industry after the next legislative session:
One draft legislative concept calls for OHA to transfer its duties and powers under the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act to a newly created Oregon Cannabis Commission. Another would prohibit OHA from registering marijuana grow sites, processing sites and dispensaries. And another would change the name of OLCC to the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission and would add commissioners from the cannabis retail industry.

Oregon medical patients need every last bit of good will they can get these days and would undoubtedly welcome you. Don't listen to those two nattering nabobs of negativity, there are a lot of people on Oregon with medical cards who can't get decent providers. Unfortunately it seems like things aren't all that stable right now & the according to the article in the post above this one, big changes may be afoot for the coming legislative session, including possible further decapitation of the medical program. If anything would bite you in the ass moving up here my guess is that it would probably be restrictive new legislative changes to the medical growing rules rather than a lack of patients. I don't know how to track them down on the internet though, thats not how I met the ones I know.
