Demarques Johnson threw one of the slickest triangles against Garcia.
BJ owned Diego badly! Toy'd with him like a little kid.

amazing fights last night. one of the best cards they have had in a while. diego got busted up. hard to think of the last title fight i've seen that one-sided... maybe silva v. franklin.

have you guys been watching Mariusz Pudzianowski? there may be potential with this monster, talk about heavy hands and solid leg kicks!

Bj Penn looked phenominal last night.. That guys on FIRE!! He totally out-classed a tough Diego Sanchez..

I dont think Diego was successful with a take down the whole fight.. When he got close Penn hit the switch, and made him pay every time. He made it look like childs play... On the feet he can stand and pick apart the best strikers UFC can throw at him.. He shrugs off takedowns from some of the strongest most dominant wrestlers, and on the ground forget about it... Diego is well known for his ability to takedown fighters, and ground and pound, and the guy had no chance at doing that to BJ Penn last night...

So whats next for BJ Penn?? Anyone here think he'd have a shot if he was to fight GSP again? I think if he was in the shape he was last night he would have a real good shot.. Even GSP had trouble taking down Penn till he gassed out.. The only people he's lost to were mostly much larger fighters cept Pulver.. Matt Hughes, GSP, and even crazier is the 205lb champ Machida back in 2005...

hahah, no one has taken penn down at 155lbs in like 6 years. that is just insane. you need 190lbs and a master in diverted takedowns to get penn on his back.

i knew penn would win but didn't expect it to be so brutal. diego landed like 8 punches, penn landed 150.

ps. awesome card

That as good as I ever seen BJ Penn last night. I actually think he waited til the 5th round to try and knock him out because he was offended by when diego bashed him about his conditioning and endurance. Also that kick that ended the fight was nasty, he split his head right open.

So that's what 150 punches and 1 kick to the face looks like hehe... That's friggen brutal... Diego is a warrior with more heart then most. I really didn't expect Diego being such an easy fight for Penn..

probably has something to do with his bowl haircut he got

GSP is booked for a while, I am sure BJ will get another shot, but will probably be late 2010

Stefen Struve looks very impressive. It's a bummer crowds boo fighters so much. I can understand when they do it for action is one thing, But after a guy went 3 hard rounds how the hell are you going to boo the man?

Bummer to see Guida lose again he is always one of my favorites to watch.

Mir did he even fight? I heard he was on the card :biglaugh: . Lesnar needs to get healthy quick there needs to be some movement in the heavyweight department. Anyone know if the Nog vs. Valasquez winner gets the #1 contender spot?

And what can I say about Penn that hasn't been said? I also like Deigo alot more after watching that fight something tells me though this guy is going to come back and one day will be champion YES!

shoot and I stopped watching after the fourth round was over thinking it was going to be Diego going for a takedown getting nowhere and then Penn punching him a few times It was boring I guess up until the last round. I guess I missed a nasty kick and one nasty cut. But yeah Lesnar needs to get better fast. I like Mir if they were to fight within the next few months but the isnt going to happen.

is it just me that thought Diego should not have even been in there in the first place:crazy:...
cumon BJ was all over him like a rash...man there not even in the same leauge.....i must point out i do like Diego (he has the heart of a lion and i like that). But when i comes to fighting 1 of the best pound for pound fighters to have ever enterd the octagon he just got blown right outa there........i think Diego was thinking the same thing right after he got rocked in the first 30 secs (WTF am i doin hear)....

Guyute54, Mir knocked out Kongo real quick and he was looking in shape and back on his game. I really like to see him get another chance at Lesnar cause I think he have a real chance this time. I think we can all agree Mir was beat up that last fight they had (didn't look in shape, bump on his head, and his knee was wrapped up real good.) Lesnar is not as good technical fighter as most these guy but the thing that I believe puts him over the top is his weight. He just so much bigger than everyone it seems.

Yup would like to see another Lesnor/Mir fight but I think it will be awhile till mir gets his chance if brock stays champ for awhile. Does Carwin still have the first shot? I could almost bet the Nog vs Valesquez winner will be the next #1 contender.

Strikeforce is putting together a nice roster of fighters. Dan Henderson is a big pickup for them.

it will get very boring soon, if there is no one that beat Lesnar

He needs a few defeats to make him a better fighter.

There's been so much going on lately in the MMA world since I was last able to post regularly that I don't even know where to begin. It's been a great year of MMA (and we still have a WEC, Strikeforce, and K-1 card to finish it all off) but I'm really really excited about the sport going into next year.

There are already so many fights I'm looking forward to in the New Year that I can hardly even wait for January 2nd when it all kicks off with UFC 108. The card has changed more times than any other I can remember, and it potentially could have been a perfect 10/10, but it's still shaped up nicely considering the circumstances. Rashad -vs- Silva, Sherk -vs- Miller, Daley -vs- Hazelett, Dos Santos -vs- Yvel, Kampmann -vs- Volkmann, and Matyushenko -vs- Cantwell are 6 fights that I'm very excited to see. Unfortunately I know the UFC will continue to put great fights on the undercard in favour of much less relevant and interesting matches but what can you do? That's what the internet's for.

Peace fellas.
