I have to agree here . 7 lbs from a 4 x 4 with only flouro's ...... pics bro or i call BS also . i just pulled 2 from a 4 x4 under 1000 watts & was extatic with that !!!
i'd be hard pressed to think you could even fit 7 in a 4 x 4 room !!!

We aren't talking about a 4x4 room, we're talking about two of them - one on top the other - for a 4x8 sog.

That's the whole point.

Yes, but we're talking about twice that area and twice the light, where you yourself would have done at least 4lbs, right?

Now spread out those 240,000 lumens and put them 10 -15" closer to your plants.

Then use 120 gallons of growing medium with a more even distribution of moisture and air.

Personally, I don't see 7 lbs as all that - I expected better.

Some guys have pulled 6 lbs from 4x6 sog - 3/4ths the area of mine... there are DVD's out there to prove it.

I'm just telling you that I consistently do almost as well with hempy - but with less floor space, and FAR less work.

I'm trying my best to think of a possible scenario where the beliefs of people I don't even know would concern me in any way,... but I just can't come up with anything.

All I can say is if you feel it's bullshit - then don't try it.

Unless your adding to the knowledge about Hempy Buckets .

It's simply 2 flat 4x4 sog setups, one on the floor, another on a shelf 4' above the first.
When I first started growing, I made frames from 2"x2"'s which are 8' tall and 4' square that I closed in with reflective mylar. (a typical small grow room)
I was growing in dirt under 1k hps, starting out with four 5 gallon buckets and 5' plants, but found better yields with a 6 row by 6 - 36 plant sog using 1 gallon grow bags for plants between 2' and 3'.
Then after fighting heat issues I got the flouros and realized that I could run them close enough to the plants to have room above to do another tray of plants and another pair of lights.
So i did.
The idea of the home made 4x4 trays came because watering 72 grow bags packed in like that sucked when I could simply dump a bucket of nutes into two 6" 4x4 trays and let the bags bottom water.
I even tried eliminating the bags, but 12 cubic feet of organic soil per grow got expensive.
Enter hempy.
It still takes 12 cubic foot per grow, but it's only $20.00 a 4cf bag, and it's easy to reuse.
Then came the issues everyone else had with the perlite drying out on top whilst staying swamped on the bottom.
I found the mylar idea by accident - originally I was simply trying to stop algea, but found out the condensation was keeping the top of the perlite from drying out, so I started sealing the mylar to the top of the tray, and I was able to move the drain hole to the bottom - eliminating the "res".

I remember back in 2012, I saw a post about autos on OG, and asked if anyone knew of a good auto for yield - my outdoor seasons being too short for even the fastest regular strains to finish properly.

Guy replies "I just did two think differents in DWC buckets under 1k hps - pulled just over a pound."

In come the dweebs...

"Bullshit! - PIX!"

"Yeah... autos suck, PIX!"

"Yeah, I call bullshit too - NOBODY has EVER got 1/2lb from an auto- PIX!"

"PIX or you're a LIAR!"

He tried to explain that one advantage of autos was the fact that you could blast them with 20 hours of light a day.

So he finally posted a pic of him holding one of his trimmed plants.

"HAHAHAHA DUUUUUDE.... it's SOOOO obvious that you are simply holding a bunch of stems together make it look like all those buds came from one plant - what a looser!"

"Yeah, there's no way that's one plant, douchebag!"

So the guy bailed, and the dweebs spent the next few days laffing at how lame he was - UNTIL....

About a week later an admin posted a link to a germ to harvest grow journal where a guy pulled 3/4 lb from a single think different.... under an LED light.

I bet that if you find that thread today - not only is the admin's link still the last post in it, but you can probably still hear the crickets.

Seen it a dozen times, and I will no doubt see it a dozen more - but it still makes me chuckle.

Yeah, that's the ticket. How stupid of us all not to be getting greater yields by using flouros. Why didn't we think of that? Think of all the electricity we've been wasting! And what's wrong with Hempy. Why didn't he think of it???

You know... I'm not one to just flat out call bull, but to come in telling a pretty tall tale without any for of documentation... then to go a stem further and shirk off the people who ask for legitimate proof... well sir... I remember my first beer too....

No way in hell someone pulls 7 pounds from a 100% 4x4 double stacked grow cab with nothing but fluoros and NOT have more pictures than I could shake a stick at. Not saying it isn't possible. I AM saying you however have not accomplished such a feat.

That said... greenhouse is ROCKING it with 5 gallon hempys... did a few transplants directly into 18 gallon hempys that were already in the greenhouse, however the plants received zero time in veg post transplant to reestablish roots. Not expecting much off of them, but I'm dry now so something is better than nothing.

Pics from 2 weeks ago... will get new ones this weekend.

Is the only reason people use hempy buckets instead of dtw because they don't have to water as often because the water in the bottom of the bucket?

Or is there a reason for better growth vs dtw?

Do hempy's perform better than dtw?
