A quick photo at feeding time today. They are getting 3/4 tsp. FloraNova Grow with a small dose of Floralicious + and the occasional shot of silica. I have given them Cal/Mag a couple times also.
Currently using about a quart of mix each every day with about 1/2 cup run off.

Know what you can do with hempy?

You can pull over 7lbs from a 4'x4' closet using nothing but perlite, maxibloom, and fluoros.

And I don't believe you can do it any other way.

Sorry. I was trying, unsuccessfully, to be humorous. I'm the one who is always preaching that with Hempys, you don't need big pots. I've grown 8 foot trees in 2 gallon buckets. Those are plenty big enough. 2-3 gallons is perfect for Hempys. No sense wasting coco. Good job.

I don't believe you have a clue what you are babbling about. You are trolling for attention. Most likely you are a cop.

"I don't believe you have a clue what you are babbling about. You are trolling for attention. Most likely you are a cop".

Perhaps?

Or maybe you're just an arrogant, self-rightous dick?

How about I post how I've done it, and we let the readers decide how full of shit I am?

I make my own flood tables, I take 1x6's cut them to length to make 4' square frames. (mine are 44" square).

Then I run double sided tape around the perimeter of each board, and stretch out some plastic sheeting (the clear window weatherproofing from Wal-mart) then stick it - and screw the frames together.

Do the same with a 4'x4' sheet of plywood and screw it to the bottom of the frame.

From the inside, caulk the joints, and drill a drain hole AT THE BOTTOM, (Don't need a res)

Throw in an airstone (Splain later)

Fill it with perlite 3/4 the way full (4 cf bag and a half total) , and set in a PVC watering manifold (Splain later)

Top it off with perilte, and level it off.

On the top edge of your frame, run double sided tape and stretch out some reflective mylar across the top of your tray (black side down)

Now heat up a nail with a lighter and make your holes (I use a masonite jig with pre-drilled holes and a butane solder iron) - 8 rows of 8 = 64 plants ( you can do 9x9, 7x7, whatever works for your grow)

If you use cuttings, open up the perlite under every hole with a toothpick a bit and spin the rooting hormone dipped cutting into the perlite - with seeds, make 4 cuts outward from each hole to make an "X" and lift the flaps out of the way to bury the seed (the cuts in the mylar make "flaps" to let the seedlings pop out)

That's it - they stay there till harvest.

The mylar is the thing.

It not only keeps the perlite from growing alge, it keeps humidity in so the top layer doesn't dry out, AND when the plants are young it reflects the light to the underside of the leaves keeping stretch to a min.

(BUT... that's why the airstone - only oxy that gets to the roots.)

Since the mylar keeps humidity in, you don't need coco\verm (in fact, the middle tends to dry out first as condensation on the mylar drips on the top)

for light I use 2 four foot 12 tube HO fluoros for 120,00 lumens - right on top of the plants. ($130.00 each on Ebay)

No heat issues, no need for a mover -plants get light from all angles.

And since your girls stay under 3', you don't need the penetration of an HID.

AND.... since your girls stay under 3', you can do a second floor in the same closet - doubling your yield!

I have grown cuts of white rhino, Ak47, and Cindy 99 - as well as "think different" autos from seed, and they all yielded over 6 lbs from two trays (The AK did 8)

As for the manifold, I do 7 rows of 4'long pvc with 8 tiny holes drilled in both sides along the length. (I'm working on a video)

My manifold hoses up to a standard garden hose, and I use a "food injector" ala miracle grow hose feeder - it's a pint and mixes 100 to 1 so I mix up enough maxibloom for 12.5 gallons (100 pints) in a pint of water, and when they need food I run the faucet for 30 seconds a day (when I adjust the lamp height).

I run straight water during rooting and flush.

Just to add...

I certainly didn't mean to jump into a brawl here - I have NO idea what motivated Retro to jump all over me like that, but I learned most of what I know about Hempy from this thread and I thought I'd share what I worked out as a way of giving back.

Very early in this thread you can see where folks were trying to find a way to use straight perlite whilst avoiding the drying out issue.

That's what inspired me to work on a way to resolve that issue - and I believe I have.

One nice thing about straight perlite is that after the flush and harvest - you can use it again.

I stir mine with a paint mixer on a drill in a plastic 55 gal water drum with a touch of bleach, and then scoop it from the top leaving most of the crud at the bottom.

Let it dry for a grow, and use it for the next.

haven't been here in like years... i see my chempy method has caught on. i remember the old days of the people bitching at me because i couldn't get it to work using all perlite. chempy on left plain coco on right. works awesome for winter time when roots are cold as you can see.

because unless you provide any actual evidence like pictures, we can only but assume you're full of shit. Nobodies pulling 7 Ps from a 4x4 closet using floros. Period.
