Man, she is AWESOME!!! Here's a picture from a 400w SOG I did with her:

And here's a smoke report I wrote up after harvesting her the first time:

Mandala Sadhu, short pheno [now referred to as the sweet melon pheno]

This strain was the whole reason I made the seed order in the first place, and this pheno seems to be the one I was told to look for... The one that represents the description of the high by Mandala...

It's only been curing for 24 hours now, but when I open the mason jar I am greeted by a pleasant, sugary aroma of tropical melons. I pack a bowl of it and light it up...

First things first, there is now a taste to it. Not so much like it smells, but rather hashy instead, with some fruity undertones. The smoke doesn't expand in my lungs and make me cough, like most indicas do. It's a very smooth smoke actually, very clean tasting upon exhale.

I feel the effects right away... It first comes on in the head. Right as I'm exhaling that first hit I'm getting light headed and giggly. It definitely makes me giggly. I feel silly, and everything is very funny to me right now. After finishing the bowl, 4 puffs or so, I'm feeling droopy eyed, and relaxed. My body doesn't want to move. Even though, I could move if I wanted to (says the guy lazily vegetating on the couch).

I have some neck problems, and this appears to have turned those into a distant memory at the moment. My muscles are all relaxed, like I've taken a flexerall. I have the munchies, too, which is actually highly unusual for me... I wonder if I'm just plain old hungry?

I like Sadhu!

I've grown Satori too. She is absolutely up there among my favorite sativas of all time. I just lost my mother plant about a year ago, so I'll have to order some more beans at some point.

Replacing perlite with Montromillonite clay (calcined clay) adds calcium and most importantly silica making for awesome stems. This clay product is the cheapest floor sweep you can get at Auto parts stores. Add it to perlite at a 3 to 1 ratio, this will create a heavier medium that holds the plants up better than straight perlite. If using Coco using the floorsweep instead of perlite in the bottom of the bucket makes the res a bit more efficient as the floor sweep absorbs moisture and releases it as the plant uses it along with adding the calcium and the silica. If your water is a bit alkaline mix 3 parts perlite, 1 part peat moss and 1 part floor sweep to get a mix that will buffer your PH levels some, dropping up to half a point. Vermiculite basically just holds more moisture which is good but peat moss has a bit more than that going for it. Even if I did not use the floor sweep I would choose peat moss over vermiculite.

Since this thread inspired me to run hempy buckets under my 1000w, I figure I should post up some pics of what I've got going. This is my first hempy bucket setup ever, although I have since setup 3 more, lol. This technique kicks ass!!!!

They are still currently in their second week of flowering, so that's all the pics I have for now. The hempy method absolutely kicks ass. It has FAR exceeded my expectations. I'm really trying to come up with reasons to ever setup a flood and drain table again! I've always loved flood and drain because of how easy it is, and how modular everything is, but THIS KICKS ASS SOO MUCH!!!!!!!
BEAUTIFUL

:thank you:

Absolutely awesome Hush......I have Satori in flower now and really looking forward to it

...and Maynard, i'd strongly suggest you include at least one coco hempy in your experiments, believe me, you'll like the results.

peace, bozo

Thanks for the advice... actually, I convinced my partner to try hempy style and we did decide to go with coco. We found Vande Zwaan coco at our regular supplier... being a long tome House and Garden nutrient user, the sight of coco by them excited me. The stuff is super nice texture and very clean, and does not need pre rinsing etc. I do all my vegging over at the partners place and he helped me set up my first coco hempy... after 1 week of seeing how this thing responded, he got all fired up about hempys and now we're totally geared to doing this style of growing. We're 2 weeks into flower with 8 5 gallon buckets (only thing I could not convince him of was 2 gallon pots). They are busting fast... we've got 5 Sour Diesels and 3 The White from CSG.. all looking like horny teenagers on their first dates! yeha!

I've also started using the House and Garden coco and I love it. No more issues with high salt levels or precharging.
Coco hempys are my favorite way to grow and with House and Garden nutes, I've had great results.
Btw, I've found you can use smaller containers with coco. I use 3 gal buckets ands that's more than sufficient for 8-10 week strains.

I've never used any bigger than 2 gallon buckets .... & the plants can get HUGE in them even that small . i did an indica run in 1 gallon buckets once just to see how often then needed to be fed before drying out & once a day was fine .
heres my current run in 2 gallon coco hempys ...

6 plants, 2 under each light @ 35 day in a 4 x 8 space

Thanks Dan.. I love reading your posts.. you grow some nice girls.. Are those 1k's above the kids or 600s? We're running 600s (2) right now and getting ready to add another. We're running 9 per 4X4 tray. I know I should read back for the answer to this, but while I've got your attention.. what are you running as far as nutrients etc? Thanks for the help you and a couple other guys on this thread have provided. BTW.. regarding container size.. up until just now, I was using 7 liter airpots, so the 2 gallon pots don't scare me a bit, but my newbie friend just can't wrap his head around it yet, but he's beginning to see the light..

Thanx Maynard :) your set is very similar to mine but i change the plant count depending on what strain i'm running . these GG4's .... 6 is max in the 4 x 8 because of how they stretch . but normally theres 2 40 x 40" trays in there side by side with anywhere from 4 to 12 girls in each tray .
3 600's with super horti reds . man what a difference adding the 3rd light !!! Do it man !!! you won't regret it :) you can still run 3 600 watt ballasts on a 20 amp circuit & not be overloaded , run them on 220 volts & your electric bill will never notice the addition of the 3rd light .

canna coco fed with canna coco nutes , everything in their line up except the boost ....calmag & epsom cuz i run 0 water ... RO/DI . Have never gone over 2.0 EC ... never needed to . calmag is 2ml per gallon unless they're calmag hogs like most of dutch growns genetics are ,then they get 3 per & a tsp of epsom in 5 gallons for that little kick of magnesium that canna nutes need . silica i add to the coco by means of powdered DE ... @ 1 cup per 2 gallon pot . helps keep the critters at bay too !!!

just show yer buddy a few pics from this thread & he'll turn around quick like :)

Awesome.. thanks for the info.. we've had the 3rd light discussion many times and we just bought a controller to put the lights on 220... got a C.A.P. controller with the timer built in.. nice piece of gear.. the 3rd light will probably go in before the end of the month... thanks again..

yeah if your going from 2 ballasts on 110 volts to 3 on 220 .... your bill will barely change !! & man what a difference you'll see in your plants & buds
I swear it almost doubled my yeild .

a 3rd light , coco hempys with some good nutes & Coco ...... your gonna be a happy man soon :tiphat:

??
Adding 600w of light will raise your bill.
Maybe I misread your post.
Watts are watts that's what you are billed for. The voltage doesn't matter on the bill.

BL .... we're talking about adding another 600 watt light to his 2 600's for 1800 watts instead of 1200 . he was running them on 110 volts by running them on 220 volts the amount of amperage the ballast uses basicly cuts in half . so by adding the 3rd light & putting them all on 220 instead of 110 .... his electric bill will not go up drasticly adding the 3rd light ..... get it ? :)

But amps don't matter in dollars on the bill. Switching to 220v does not save money on the bill.
A light costs the same to run on 220 as 110. It still is 600 more watts to pay for on the bill.

damn :wallbash: do i feel like a dumbass ?!?!? Your right BL ! It will allow you to run more lights on the same circuit ... but your bill goes by wattage usage .

thanx for clearing that up for me , but more importantly .. for MGK :tiphat:

I did the google thing and found out the same thing.. now I'm depressed.. I think I'll go to the grow store and buy another light to celebrate...
