The Official Hempy Bucket Thread

Not true. Hempys are hydro. If you water/feed every day, at least in coco, you will get much better results due to hydro roots. I've done it every which way, and daily watering FTW!
 retrogrow hi caan remember a long time back ,debate about whether or not hempys were hydro lol prob still goes on.''' as in standing water .:tiphat:

That's the ticket!
When you switch to coco, you will see a massive difference. Chunky perlite for the rez.
Hempy did.

I've been thinking about it for a long time and I'd love to switch, but I've been so wrapped up in getting the spot dialed in how it ought to be that I didn't want to change another phase of the game. Perhaps I should run a bucket as you're suggesting and see if if my gains outweigh my perceived losses. +1

Using Hempys original mix of perlite to vermiculite, it is best to feed every few days once established. If you look somewhere in the beginning of the thread, it says to do just that-something about a ph swing going on in between feedings also. I think in coco it is probs best to feed every day; like you normally would in coco. Why don't you go with an Airpot with coco? I hear people are getting very good yields with them using coco. I will let you know, I have my first one about a week into flower.

thnx for the replies retrgrow+...i wanted to know wat type of food are u using and are u using calmag and halides...mm/

K.I.S.S.
Maxibloom all the way.
Silica.
A bloom booster can be added if you like. I use Bloombastic.
Also i use Cannazyme & Boost for the coco.
Works for me.
But, you could go just with Maxibloom and add some silica, and you are good to go.

Sorry for the lack of pictures to back this up but I have to say a couple things. First, I want to thank the members that contribute to this site and specifically this Hempy thread for making my bountiful harvest more easily attained. 2nd, I am not one to brag but that is part of what I'm going to do.

Here's the deal: I hit 1+ GPW. I hit 1+ GPW by doing very, very little daily maintenance/upkeep. I hit 1+ GPW by just watering with Maxibloom at .5 tsp per gallon of water as needed. No other additives or pH adjusting and I hit 1+ GPW anyway. Minimal pruning and trimming (just a little training), minimal nutrient preparation, minimal attention given in general, and I still hit 1+ GPW. 3 plants, 2 harvested at 10 weeks and one harvested at 11 weeks, under 360 watts of HPS yielded 380 grams. AND, environmental conditions weren't ideal. Temp was too high with humidity too low for 3 weeks in the middle of flowering, and I still hit 1+ GPW.

I attribute the surprising success to the grow method: Hempy style. It is so forgiving and so low maintenance that, combined with freezer curing, it has allowed me to pull the finest buds from an operation that requires minimal effort.

So thank you icmag.com, I hope to be singing your praises for many harvests to come!

hi, well hempys are easy and foregiving bugger all maintenance, was thinking if you had such a good outcome maybe the temp was ok and humidity ok as well, congratz on the 1+gpw.

I recently got the Secret Jardin90 Twin. The top chamber is only 50cm high and I want to use this for vegging naturally, I also want to keep a motherplant in that space.

I been searching ALOT for pots without drainage holes and can find none. For bloom I'll use black 2.5gallon (10L) buckets, these were easy to find. Any advice what to use for veg/mother? I figure I want to veg the clones for 4 weeks or something (first grow).

cut down 3liter gingerale bottles work pretty good ok and being green they won't promote algae growth.

btw, that tent is best as a mother tent below and a cloning chamber above, ...50cm isn't gonna give you much room for vegetative growth once you subtract the vertical distance used by the light.

...here's a couple pics of some old mothers in cut down coke bottles that were being LST'd and these work too but green is better.

I didn't have room for a 2 tent setup, gotta make do with what you got.

I found a little storage thing for toys today, it's 10.5L. Measurements are 37x26x14 (cm), do you think this would work for a mother plant?

Also I thought about getting some of these: http://shop.humle.se/utrustning/jasning/jashinkar/plastdunk-5-liter

And cut them off in a suitable height, having those for clones. I know they aren't black but can't really find anything else.. Can always paint them black or something. What do you think?

I only have 110w CFL's in the small vegchamber, shouldn't get very hot should it?

Hiya all.

Im going with hempy buckets next grow and i will go with lucas formula using flora nova bloom all grow.

I was wondering tho, if i shall add something more in flower for max buds? Like "bud candy" or sumthin like that or will FNB work all the way home and give me a lot from the plants?

Just using ONE bottle the whole grow sound just to good to be true....

Love Justin

...yeah man, any container will do as long as it's watertight and with you being so limited in space (as a lazy American i only have the vaguest idea how many cm's are in an inch) i'd strongly recommend you use small containers, ...you're gonna need to flip small plants with virtually no veg time at all or the plants will outgrow your space.

...something like these 1liter 'pots' i used when i was running my high-density micro-SOG except that they may be too tall for your situation, ...only you can decide what will fit and what won't.

picture.php

...and i was looking for redgreenery's thread on his rubbermaid 'cab' as i thought reading it might help you figure something out but apparently red is another who was either banned or who decided to leave, ...either way i can't search under his name so i can't find the thread.

...so here's Blynx's micro-cab thread where many have posted pics of their cabs to compare and so if you find something that looks like it might work or might could be scaled down be sure and go check out the thread of that poster.

Blynx's 1 sqft CFL cab & other CFL micro cabs

here's a couple pics of my motherbox to give you an idea but this might still be too big for your situation.
