Well, not a true organic run IMHO. I'm using up my old General Organics lineup I got a few years ago. I'm also giving them regular ACT and occasional kelp/alfalfa teas. I'm still trying to figure out how to go full organic next time. Lots of top dressing and teas I'm guessing.

For soil I'm using LC's mix (organics for beginners thread) which I topped w/some Napa 8822 (DE) as mulch.

+1 ........ i tried all organic last round and had to go with some chem nutes before i even got through veg. keeping the herd happy in a beer cup is a step or four beyond my abilities

okay I always assumed it would be necessary to supplement with some soluble nutrients to bring a plant to maturity in such small containers.

they look great tho!

first off i have to agree with heady. they do look great!

do you guys think FPE's could/would be the "soluble nutrients" that could be a piece of the puzzle? and if you used an inert grow media fed with teas, FPE's,top dressings and ACT is it still "organic"? or does organic have to include a soil mix of some kind?

a beer cup IS a really goofy place to be growing weed ....... but it damn sure does get your mind kicked in directions that it would not go on it's own:biggrin: ....... kinda cool IMHO

well as far as i understand those "bottled organic nutes" like the GO line, they are often made from botanicals and organic amendments that have been fermented.

so theoretically it seems that you can apply FPE with an NPK mindset and have some level of success. hell some guys on IC are growing beautiful plants with bottled organics. have you seen vstagger leev's grow logs?

being the soil nut that i am, i think that the NPK approach is an interesting detour on the FPE path, but that more benefits are to be found when using FPE in homeopathic amounts in a living soil. no proof to back that up, just a hunch :)

of course, in a beer cup, that is easier said than done.

Toes.

I tried to go organic too... I think my soil could've used some more Magnesium tho.

All I used was EWC, a very small amount of guano teas, pee, and a little neptunes harvest. Top dressed with the worm castings, and made EWC teas. Worked just fine, I was worried about them getting root bound, thats when organics really gets complicated.

I had FPE made out of broccoli at the time wish I would have used it on them.

My 15th update, Part 1 (09-09-2012 - End of week 15 - Last time you'll see them alive.)

Not much to say here, glad i could flower them to the end. All trichomes are milky and some are starting to turn amber. I'll cut them soon and come back with buds pics and I hope to do some microscope pics on the trichomes too.
The third girl I had left was found knocked over in the corner of the flower space. (when dry they were too top heavy and that one lost her grip) I think that one would yeld only a few grams (2-3), i kept only the top two budsites anyway (added the rest to a cannabutter batch), I'll post a pic of her dried top later on.

A2_1 & A2_2 = Aurora Indica x (White Rhino (purple pheno) x Skunk#1 BX1)
B31 (gone at update 14) & B71 (gone at update 15) = selected White Rhino (purple pheno) x Skunk#1 BX1 crosses

Later/edit: As I promised, pic of the dried top of B71 plant. 1.98 gr.

And I'll smoke this one tonight for all the contestants here, including the ones that could not finish the competition! Had a great time with you guys here!

Puff puff & pass, brothers!!

Am pleased to report there has been no further sign of the larve in my beer cans. Result. :woohoo:

Both ladies ae ripening up nicely, just in the nick of time. Since I plan to chop them at the end of this week, so they can get a week to dry before the final photo shoot.

Pictures for this week are bushy top bud, then lankys followed by the usual group shot.

for those who are interested I recycle my soil. No particular mix strategy, just add EWc, compost, alf-alfa/cumfry/sea weed and varius limes. The usual suspects, whatever I have too hand really. In this grow they had a little tea, but mainly BioGrow/Bloom throughout. Started with the grow when they showed some yellowing early on. That was quickly fixed so I sticked with a weekly feed.

This has been another fun beer comp for me, just a shame we lost so many players along the way.

There should be some good bud shots coming from everyone soon:peacock:. Then the really hard bit, picking a winner.

Too busy last weekend so here's the Monday update.

I chopped the dead gal down, buds are drying. Pretty small harvest but hope/assume it'll smoke well.

Plant's 1 and 3 are chugging right along. 1 had a bit later start than the rest so she's always been a bit behind. Plant 2 has some yellowing leaves and just recently started turning purple. I've already got rooted cuts of 1 plus the one that died so I'm going to try to reveg 2 and 3 as they're all showing some interesting and different traits.

1 has an awesome structure, super strong color and great lime smell. 2 has always been more of a lighter lime green color. She grew as my least favorite but has developed the strongest lime smell and is now purpling. Hope she revegs. 3 is the tallest and I assume would yield the most if given a real run. She's also got a strong funky lime cleaner smell that's very different from the rest. Wondering if I've got something special with her. Again, hope she revegs.

thats what scares me and makes the BCC hard... I would hate to not get a cutting from ANY of the seeds I have especially if they turn out good in a beer cup, it would break my heart if they didn't Reveg and I new it was something special :wallbash:
