The most hated nute company is the only one producing decent smoke? Figures..

I hate fertilizer companies. Always have in the 30+ years I've been growing.

I recently asked myself, not all hydro sucks, right? I started investigating. And found out the brand you're supposed to hate is probably the only one producing decent smoke.
It all started when I saw a product called B52 and wondered if it wasn't B vitamins for hydro. It was. Hmmm.. A nute company assisting methylation in hydro? I didn't even have to talk to the guys to see they are different from the Athena, Brotanicare freaks producing all this plastic-cardboard-styrofoam weed.

The data shows that during the Grow Phase, cannabis uses MORE calcium, iron, manganese, and boron and LESS nitrogen, potassium, zinc and phosphorus.

And in the all-important, money-making Bloom Phase, cannabis devours MORE nitrogen, potassium, and zinc (and a tad more phosphorus) and uses LESS calcium, iron, manganese, and boron.

Well ain't that nifty. No wonder grow forums instruct everyone to hate that brand. The haters probably secretly use it!

And right below... Another whopper I've been mocking the experts about for years. "My OG is floppy" Yeah and smells like nothing with all that copper!

Looks like I'll be using AN moving forward as it cripples me for weeks to mix and transport 15 gallon pots of soil. I physically can't do "living super rols notill tlo bas kis rev coots knf" anymore. Im glad not all these fertilizers are producing Los Angeles grade vomit-inducer buds. Now I just need a sponsorship to afford the shit, since I've never paid a dime into social security.

Lol - quit wasting your money on the woo woo juice and “secretly” marketing for them, how very coy :)

Some decent & cheap advice; buy a ton pallet of this instead, it will last most people in here their lifetimes for all their growing needs.

If you’re an organic farmer, 7 springs is as cheap as any I’ve found and very fair on shipping fwiw, I have zero affiliations other than being a long term satisfied customer

I've been using AN Sensi Coco for a few rounds now. Just the grow/bloom A+B, none of the bottles with the funny names. Seems to work very well and is easy to use. Sure there's cheaper options, even without going into 50lb bags of chicken manure. Then again, it's the price of a couple grams for enough to grow a kilo or so with.

I’d never use AH or any other brand for marijuana growing with that kind of NPK profile.

It’s two different things to grow a cannabis plant in a way that you cater to it’s every need

..and to grow a Marijuana plant for smoking.

Cannabis for marijuana growing – to grow a smoking product, that is – needs more Nitrogen in the first half of bloom but not so much later.
...and if you’re gonna feed that much Nitrogen as you have on that AH chart during the whole bloom cycle, you’re not gonna get a good smoking product = the smoke will be harsher on the throat even if you’d starve the plant before harvest to get a proper yellowing going.

If you use too much Nitrogen during Marijuana-cannabis growing it won’t be as smooth smoke as it can be no matter how yellow it gets before you harvest it.

Imho, most nutrient companies i’ve seen - even the brand i’m using, BioBizz - use too much Nitrogen in their boom-cycle nutrients.

I replace part of BioBizz Grow-component with a PK13/14 during he last few weeks i give them nutrients to get lower levels on N in late bloom. I don’t actually follow BioBizz recommendations at all, which is 1:1 Grow + Bloom for the most part- i make my own nute blends with them.
..and before someone calls me a BioBizz fanboy, i use their nutes mainly cause they’re fairly cheap. I’m not claiming they’re better than something else.

Hate em all, the results pale in comparison to what you can do with rabbit manure. After 20 years of hydro I found the easy way to create super healthy plants with amazingly complex terpenes. Tossed all my hydro nutes last year and now, after a couple months of reading research papers on it, I am completely sold on it for much more than cannabis. :tiphat:

BTW... I have grown some truly amazing cannabis with GH nutes, and always with lower nitrogen in flower. Not news around my house. lol ;)

Fertilizer for Tomatoes does the same and is way cheaper.

I mostly use a good soil for tomatoes and vegetables and guanokalong powder(1-10-1). As a small to medium grower there is more than enough Nitrogen for the whole flower-cycle in the soil... the rest does the guano. I don't need something perfect and it's just weed for myself so... But that's only my opinion and experience.

There are actually many different NPK profiles being sold for tomato growing much like for cannabis. It’s quite funny how far a part some nute lines can be from each other

Tomatoes and chilis were actually the reason i started making my own blends with BioBizz nutes, cause i noticed the NPK profiles are all over the place on the different ferts being sold for these plants. Then i figured i can make my own blends with the BB nutes i already had, and so it got me into looking at different NPK profiles for bloom cycle of cannabis; for sensimilla and seed producing.. I’m still tinkering with them abit but i’m starting to get closer.

I started thinking about the AN claim above on how much cannabis supposedly consumes different stuff during the bloom cycle..

How accurate claim is that, actually? When you think about how different cannabis plants like different amounts/ratios of NPK food = Landrace sativas and Hazes like less Nitrogen in bloom than many modern indoor hybrids.

So, imo, that AN claim is prolly too simplistic
..and so not very professional when you think about how big of a brand it is and how long they have been in the business.

It’s like many led light companies. They are clueless about how to actually use their lights for home growing thou they have been in business for years ...i’m not gonna name any names. I’m polite like that. Hah-hah

Hi
You are, for some weird reason, evading to talk about how did you even think fertilizers make "a good smoke" at all. Fertilizers are fertilizers, nutes, elements, plants don`t give a bird turd from where they come, they just see + and -, nothing else.
That said, you seem to try to say something between lines, or you are delusional, or you like to participate in the gossip about one company or another, I don`t get it. But at least you learned something today.

We use simple half gallon bags as pot, the typical ones, a few cents each, A-B-C fertilizer all the cycle, and we make our preventive vegetal oil based and we do good. And cheap as hell. And productive. And smells good. And tastes good.

What about pk for bloom? Do you use anything else?

Have we not had enough PK b.s. yet?...
Seriously. More people should read Uncle Ben's old "the never-ending abuse of Phosphorus" thread from like 15 years ago. He could have written it today and titled it "the never-ending abuse of Phosphorus and Potassium." We have multiple studies, cannabis specific studies, from the last few years that show a decline in yields once you go higher than 90 ppm P. The same study showed a mere 20% increase in yield going from 30 ppm P to 90 ppm P. Likewise, most people running high EC nutrients are also grossly overfeeding K. Because of the way that this information slowly filters through the community, it will take a LONG time for people to adjust their "more is better" philosophy. I've grown organic outdoors and with mineral salts indoors for years, and there is no way I'd say one turns out "better" than the other. Grossly overfed cannabis tastes terrible whether it's grown organic or with mineral salts. Advanced is just selling Haifa nutrients (which are good quality, fyi) with the world's most expensive water. Advanced fanbois should cut out the middle man and just buy bulk dry Haifa salts and mix it themselves. How you dry your bud has a bigger influence on final flavor and "quality" than whether it was grown with poop or mineral salts.

This statement is so divorced from reality.

Microbial Biomass would like a word with you.
I would love to. I don`t even know who he/she is. And to say that my statement is divorced from reality makes you a complete ignorant, you don`t have an argument at all. Have a good one, go read, study and then you can come back.
