I tried 3 first Lady seeds, one plant I had to cut for safety reasons, one died a few days after germination (I think it is a problem of excessive inbreeding) and the one I am growing now that seems to be fine (although does not seem very early)

Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a 12-pack of First Lady fems. At only $45? Shit, I'll at least get my money's worth in bud, even if I don't find a keeper. Also ordered the South Mountain Golden fem 5-pack, and a 12-pack of Cryptic Lab's Highland Guerrero reg. Provided Green Mountain restocks the Zacateca Tribute, I'll be ordering that ASAP as well. The Jarilla is off the table, as it turns out the only seedbank I can find that has stock doesn't ship to the US. I think these four are a decent beginning for my Mexi project.

Anyone know Swami's Michoacan IBL? I seem to recall reading some speculation that it may actually be a more recent hybrid, but I can't remember where I saw that.

Hi Humple, the real Michoacán kind its long gone
The only true Michoacán that recently saw at the web was the female cut called "four seasons" that it was given to Kaiki/Charlie García from four seasons
If someone offers Michoacán pure strain i'm 99.9 % sure that will be an hybrid.

Thank you much! Such a shame that so many have been lost. I recently got a subscription to High Times just so I could go back and read through from the first issue in 1974. Really educational to see the progression from all-sativa to the introduction of indicas, and then the boom in hybridization. There were a few people back then who were calling it out as a bad idea, warning that much would be lost, but there was no stopping it, of course. Yet another way prohibition fucked us.

I have the Snow Michoacan in crosses, but it comes thru dominate in most of them. It is the same smoke I had in '74, so I guess it is real Michoacan. What I had in '74 was not called anything but I realized it was superior to most of the Mexican around at that time.

Still looking for some space weed I had in '74, I think also Mexican. Michoacan is a rather large state in Mexico and had several strains being grown there at any time. I suppose at one time there was a dominate strain being grown there and Snow got it.

Holy fuck, those Snow prices are steep! And I see they only come in 5-packs. Seems really chancy with regs. Buy I do see the Acapulco Gold x Michoacan (precisely the sort I'm interested in) is quite a bit cheaper than most. Now I want it. Haha... Just don't know if I'm brave enough to drop $80 on 5 regs.

He will get back to you with what he has to offer

And you can ask about the Michoacan he did offer a few packs pure @ one point but you would have to ask

And yes, even on his own list things are not cheap but less for sure than what you are looking at I think

He always makes upfor it with some decent free seeds...

Best of Luck to you

Last I talked with Snow he was out of pure Michoacan as I wanted some. The Acapulco Gold x Michoacan was AG dominate for me. I did not care so much for the 'AG' which in my opinion, is really Guerrero Gold. A good smoke but not real AG. Chimera'a Guerrero is the closest to that.

The Sierra Madre or Michoacan x Guerrero was Michoacan dominate for the most part. I got some really nice Michoacan phenos from that. Smaller delicate type leaves to it. More euphoria and interesting effect for me with the Michoacan than the Guerrero or 'AG' of Snow.

I ran some Guerrero from Swami and it was garlic smell and quite good. Not sure of his Michoacan. Might try it. I am trying to hold off buying seeds. hehe

Not sure I should mention it but Snow gave me some Mexican Red Hair seeds. I have to say it is one of my favorite smokes. Not sure if he even sells it. I have bought a ton of seeds from him and I think that is why he let it go to me. I have talked extensively of my love of the old elite Mexican genetics with him, so that is another reason. He might do a hybrid with it to sell or even pure.

Cannabiogen has these things currently worth looking into direct on their web-site

Cannabiogen ICMAG Forum section

Cannabiogen Forum

https://www.cannabiogen.com/club/

Chapita from Michoacan
Bank: CannaBioGen
Regular Seeds
Genetics: Mexican hybrid (Michoacan)
Yield: Medium-high
Flowering: 8 to 10 weeks
Fast and productive hybrid that has been cultivated in the last decade in some areas of the Michoacan and Sinaloa mountain ranges, Mexico. Easy to grow variety, they grow vigorously, asking for little fertilizer and careful watering to prevent the leaves from appearing in a claw shape. The effect is medium / high power. rather stimulating, showing the Mexican blood that runs at the intersection. The scents that the plants give off are discreet, although they stand out together with their flavors when the plant is already well dry, taking on tones like the Arugula plant (Eruca sativa)

Michoacan Cream
Bank: CannaBioGen
Peyote Delights
Genetics: Mexico / USA
Yield: Medium / High
Flowering: 9 - 10 weeks
The unmistakable texture of Peyote Purple introduces us to another world of subtle aromatic details provided by Michoacan Spirit that are combined in earthy incense, hash, grapes or lavender with details of cola. With a slightly spicy taste and a stimulating lucid effect, creative at first, it will finally leave you in a relaxed and positive state with a light physical load. Of simple cultivation it can give great stretching in some phases so an effective FM pruning for indoors is recommended if necessary. Average production and flowers of varied colors especially in the last phase of flowering. It is advised not to harvest too late to obtain its best flavors and effects.

That's good to hear your experience

All this Mexican stuff is important even the seeds from bricks

its one of those where good things can be found

I think that list of his worth looking at but yes, its no guarantees

I have been stashing stuff from bricks and few of the things offerdup as old mex lines for when I get chance to grow them

Old mexican lines are some of the best smoke and not always supr long flower like the colombians

It would be good if someone reproduced that chimera highland mexican pure guerrero 73 used in the HM x BB if anyone still has it

I picked up a pack of Mexican red hair from alter ego genetics up in the Santa Cruz mountains, but I don't know anything about it other than it's name, I wonder if the lines are related. It was called "Mexican red hair (Mexican skunk)" in the catalog. I haven't gotten a chance to run them yet, but he also had a oaxacan, and an alculpulco gold x tangie cross on offer.

Anyone have any experience with his lines?

Thanks for the tip on contacting Snow High directly, guys. The prices are indeed much lower when cutting out the seed banks! He sent me his current catalog, so I've been drooling for a few hours now. Sent the list on to an old, former-hippy buddy of mine, who also grows, and now he's salivating too. Haha. We're thinking of pooling money and sharing an order to make it sting the wallet a little less.

He's expansive but generous with freebies........
