Today the Oaxaca79 x Oaxaca 12 Fingers arrived me, finally. My Job is to reproduce them and send them back to the person who gave them to me.

Hey bro! Exact lineage is Oaxaca79 x Local Oaxacan. ElChischas used a male from a different modern Oaxacan in order to pollinate both the Canadian Oaxacan (1978-79 depending on sources) and the 12 Fingers one, that's what I remember from our conversations, then he shared the seeds with the Collective Vibes and some other friends. Chischas originally received the S1s from Charlie Garcia because he was looking for Oaxacan males in order to preserve the Oaxacan S1 line.

Hopefully ElChischas may pop up around sometime soon. Last time we spoke he was trying to source interesting Mexican seeds from the southern states.

This is the original zipbag with ElChischas' handwriting on it:

Whenever you receive the 12Fingers/Oaxacan and grow all of them side by side you will realize about all this and recognize the different traits.

Vibes. :tiphat:

PS: Remembering the 12 Fingers Oaxacan from ElChischas, looks like an untamed Oaxacan, a true Xmas mota, according to how Mexicans call some of those old and long flowering sativas that usually get harvested around Xmas time:

.

.

1977 Mexican from Guerrero/Morelos area. Longer flowering than even the Thais, wild Africans and Mullumbimbys at the garden...

After growing this one and the 12 Fingers Oaxacan I guess I no longer believe in the existence of true compact Mexicans, that definitely must be the result of early hybridization in a similar way to what happened in Colombia or Jamaica.

So like with any other classic Cannabis landrace, if it's really untamed and traditional (pre80s), it should have a true tropical behaviour without any hashplant traits just like compact structure or resinous leaves all over the tops.

Best.

Little update with the '77 Mexican, the plants are maturing slowly since the temperatures have dropped a bit here, on the other hand after being pollinated by 3 different males the seeds are getting fat inside the calyxes and because of the early pollination, no more flower production seems to be taking place.

upZwwtP.jpg

You can see the tiny trichomes covering the swollen calyxes, some leaves look a bit frosty as well, the aromas are spicy, no lemon whatsoever, more like turpentine and piney spice:

Hopefully the seeds will ripe properly besides the cold temperatures outside:

They have been literally covered in pollen in order to ensure a succesfully pollination. I've washed the females with a mild neem solution in order to prevent PM and moved them outside after a rinse.

So far it was great fun to test this unique line, can't wait to test the female clones sinsemilla and see what's up in terms of effect and potency. I'm keeping clones from both males and females just in case!

Vibes.

Hola mustafunk

Friggin awesome work, Musta.
I hope you get a bunch of mature seeds.

The cold stopped the seeds from maturing

If you can bring her into a dark, warm closet at night, that will helps the seeds finish.
