Just performed another test with the Acapulco Gold. The one lagging plant which I did not pollinate is the keeper. The high is just stellar. The first few minutes are heaven and the rest aint bad either. Not a annoying initial rush with crazy nervousness, but a very enjoyable expansion of mind with some energy for sure. Two thumbs way up!

The seeded plant is pretty good too but not up there with the other. Maybe having a hundred seeds on it dulled the effect a bit?

I need to run this again as the plants produced almost nothing. Have so many other strains to try though. I am a victim of my great fortune in seed variety.

Sorry Yesum, I laugh because I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me... It is almost guaranteed. The good news, you're smart enough to have kept a cutting.

Got any pictures to repost of the one that was lagging?

Congrats.

Thanks,

^^ Hey Thai always good to see you in a thread. I was not smart enough to keep a cut. I have never kept a clone but may start....

The lagger did produce 13 seeds by stray pollen or hermi action. I did see nanners on both plants. I think I will pop all 13 and go at it again soon. With any luck I can find similar effects. When 1 of 2 are great, that would indicate that more are there to be found.

Heirloom not landrace.... and which Mexican heirloom is it exactly?

Sorry? What exactly is the difference? If you wouldn't mind explaining.

As far as which, I'm not totally sure. A few folks seem to think it has Oaxacan traits. Was seed brought from Mexico in the late 70's and grown outdoor for decades, then indoor. I only have a mother I take cuttings from.

Like with uh vegetable and fruit seeds that are bred by people for generations are heirloom (human intervention) and landraces are the strains that are not messed with by man like sure maybe some time some ancient people's traveling migrating the seed or even an animal by eating and pooping it out pushes landraces to other lands sorry if this is confusing but not that great at explaining when I haven't smoked any ganjis maybe someone can come here and enlighten us on a better explanation

I get it, your explanation is clear. Thanks. Just figured since this IS "the Mexican Landraces Thread" my terminology was spot on. 😎 You understand my confusion.

Regardless of all of the above, it's a beautiful specimen and I cant wait to give it a try.

I'm an old car collector as well so I totally get it. I hate it when people say a "restored" car is "all original". It was only all original once, when it left the factory. Now, it's restored. Nice talkin with ya by the way!

The story

You too brother. Then Mexican heirlooms you running something you kept for years? Like you find seeds or given seeds from Mexico and f gen breeding them?

This was told to me firsthand. Seeds were brought to the states after a vacation in Acapulco in, I believe 78 or 79. He grew them outdoor until the mid 90's, then indoor. He was breaking down his grow due to health problems. My buddy managed to pull two cuttings out of the garbage! They were in rockwool cubes and were used to sex the plants, old school, lol. He gave everything else, plants, seeds, everything to a friend of his. These two were all that was left. So there was veg, flower and then more veg on the same 6-7 inches of stalk! He gave them to me because they weren't doing anything. He seriously over watered them so they needed a good two weeks to dry out. Once they stabilized sort of LOL, I started to slowly clip pieces off of the top until I got down to just vegetative leaves. This took about three weeks. It took almost another three weeks before any new growth started but once it did holy crap! That's monster cropping I discovered LOL! So I raised the both of them up and kept the best one for my mother. I've been taking cuttings off her for a few months now. I have four close friends that grow also. Each of them took six rooted cuttings. I have 10 rooted cuts and another 10 in the cloner right now. I wanted to make sure we had a whole bunch of them spread around as back up before I put one into flower. The other one I started to prepare to move into my flower room, which is where it's at now. It looks really nice in the fruity smell coming off of it is amazing! I can't wait until it's finished so we can give it a go.

That story gives that plant some killer meaning if it's Acapulco gold that's boss but if it's a hybrid hopefully a mix between two Mexican heirlooms which would be epic either way bro that's one special plant right there. I wanna see the dried product after a cure I bet she's nice bright green at least.
And none of the clones hermed or anything after that long battle with monster cropping n stuff if not that's a tough ass strain

No herms. It is tough, it's almost no maintanence! Lots of veg to clear out along the way but past that I just kept her fed. I use RxGreen and feed heavy. They don't use very much water at all, even weeks 3-5. So strange. Truly like a desert plant. That could change with cuttings that have nice new roots though. My mom is under 24 hour light in my veg room and in a 5 gallon pot. It's 3 foot tall and 3 foot around and you'd be lucky to water it once every two weeks. I think somewhere after week six next round I'm going to start my flush. This one is a bit small, as far as bud size, but this was one of the injured original 2 I was given, so considering all they went through the yield is pretty good. I have 8 more I'm raising up now that will go into flower in about a month. My buddy grows in cocoa, gave him a cut that is absolutely huge now, LOL and shaped more like a kush plant. The 8 that I have are in promix so I'll have to wait and try it next run. I'll let you know how it smokes. Here's a few pictures I snapped quick this morning.
