So end goel of that complex chain of events is sugars being taken up or produced. Inside the plant.... higher suger levels will reflect this with refractometer.....

From research in a hydro chem setup... sugars r as you say unable to pass thru the root membrane.... although my research points to yes sugars do pass thru only in tiny amounts tho.... in essence mimicing the natural chain or events that would lead to a rise in sugars.... which also leads me to believe its better to pay a few bucks for a wide range of sugars in a carbo product from a nutrient manufacturer leading to better chance of absorbtion.... imo.... thx for the info! Love how things always have a symbiosis...

BIG THX TO ALL CAUSE MY PLANTS R LOOKING BETTER THAN IVE EVER SEEN THEM!!!!!

Bugger getting another overpriced bottle of sugar from the fert mafia. Just get yourself down to the whole foods store and by some unsulphered molasses. You can then make your own sugar water at a fraction of the price.

Molasses.. personally hate that stuff.... rather pay a bit more for something that stays mixed and doesnt spoil overnight

I just bought a bag to try out. Mixed it and checked the Ph....5.9. Super simple. Super stoked! I'm going to run it in a dtw and a ppk set up. I've had my best runs using base [email protected] ec, so I don't expect any decrease in yield. I was once addicted to buying and using all kind of different shiny bottles; I've found most are just snake oil or just unnecessary.

7 g per gallon is way hot... was trying 3.5 g per gallon with feed everytime and still too hot... im down to .5 g per litre now.... tiny bit of koolbloom as well....

I think its at the beginning of the thread... just got a ppm meter and need to do some reading cause I have no idea what it reads... so id assume the best thing to do is go buy one if you really want the exact numbers... what ppm is your water?

No not really specifically on the first 10 pages

Can anyone answer the question of what PPM that is??

depends on scale. but id assume you knew that. but incase you hadnt read about scale and e.c. to ppm conversions its just x 1.2 e.c. if its a 500 scale it would be 600ppm and if its 700 scale it would be 840 ppm. simply multiply e.c. by either 500 or 700 to get ppm depending on what instrument you want it to be the same as.

I'd get major yellowing if I only ran 1.2ec in flower

ive heard that before but i get salt buiild up and burnt tips if i go over. how often do you feed.? if i fed less than once a day i would too. if im feeding 3-4 times a day it needs much less strong feed than if i feed every 36 hours. big time.

Im going to have to agree with XXX I rock .9-1.2 ec through veg and flower and nothing but pretty ladies over here.

Your getting major yellowing because of user error 99% of the time. I use to get yellowing with 6/9 maxi etc for various reasons one common one is salt build up. In fact 1.2 ec is literally my max point. Im usually feeding around 1.0ec in veg. and bump it up to 1.2ec in flower. When i used to get yellowing It would be salt build up 99% of the time or bugs. I dont think in veg 1.2ec is even needed unless your veggin real long and if your getting yellowing with KISS then your probably letting the coco dry out to much and overfeeding. check your ec/ppm runoff and i bet its out of whack and over 200-300+ppm of your input solution. Adequate amnts of runoff and keeping an eye on your ladies eating habits is key to be successful in coco.
I dont even run drip clean but it is a nice insurance bottle ehhhh ?

well carvagio is no spring chicken. he needs more ec its possible if hes running D.E. or hes running beds that dont need to be watered more than once every day or every other day. the people i kow doing that seem to need to run higher e.c.s at times.

Guess everyones situation is diff but I can tell you ive ran multiple situations and nutes never peaked over 1.2ec ever even with plants 7ft tall. But Carvagio you know your situation/setup the best

:D

I tend to agree with that. Using MB 7g/gal I had early yellowing from salt buildup. I've been playing with GH nutes for years now, in soil and for the last 2 years in coco. I have a perpetual and am still trying to figure out by experiment what's best for me. I have 2 plants using MB at 1.2ec, feed twice a day right now but when I harvest them that's all for MB, for a while anyway. Not enough control with MB. Maxigrow smokes MB in veg at 1.0-1.1ec, it's all I'll ever use in veg from now on. According to a GH rep MaxiBloom and Maxigrow are exactly GH liquid ferts Grow, Micro and Bloom without the water. Maxibloom is 3 parts Bloom, 2 parts Micro and 1 part Grow and MaxiGrow is 3 parts grow, 2 parts Micro and 1 part Bloom. Knowing this I'm trying to get a better balance during bloom phases. I've also tried the GH feeding schedule off their website, works OK. The rest of my plants in bloom now are getting 6/9 micro, bloom at 1.2ec for the first 4 weeks then 4/8/2 for weeks 5,6,7. 4/8/2 is micro, bloom, koolbloom liquids at 1.2ec. Anyway I'll keep playing around and see if something sticks. They are all good products and they all work but I think MG is best in veg and straight 6/9 liquid at 1.2ec beats MB 1.2ec in bloom. Wouldn't surprise me if people have seen the exact opposite:biggrin:
