*The K.I.S.S. Method*

R

Rogo

Im using the three fox farms, perlite and dolomite lime soil mixture. I'm going to water using kiss method and my question is should I water every time I water from beginning to end with the maxi bloom. Or should I water with the maxi bloom in intervals? Thanks

R

Rogo

So would it be wise to do the entire veg or most of it without nutes then during flower implement the kiss regimen with daily watering with maxi bloom ???

K.I.S.S. method is really made for coco or other hydro. Coco will blow away any soil mix in terms of yield, especially if used in Hempy buckets. I gave up soil growing long ago after discovering coco. You will never use soil again after trying coco. Canna bagged coco is the best, IMO. K.I.S.S. method not made for Foxfarms, which is heavily fertilized. I would not use it. Go back to the beginning of the thread and start reading. You will see most people using K.I.S.S. are in coco or other hydro.
Coco+ K.I.S.S.+ Hempy buckets FTW. Daily watering/feeding works best in Hempy buckets with coco. 2 gallon buckets are all you need. $2 each @ HD. Or you could use 3 gallon buckets if you prefer, although I have had my best results in 2 gallon Hempy buckets waterd to run off daily.

I have a question for Kiss users. I grow ebb and flow and I gave some clones to a friend who grows soil. We both use the same 1 scoop maxi and a 1/2 scoop of kb per Gal. But my hydro is WAY more potent. Any thoughts? I'm also pretty sure he let it go 10 weeks as I did FYI.

maybe his water comes from another water plant then the water you're using ,changing ppm or cal mag up take or possibly his soil is rich and over nuting the plants or he could be under nuting the plants if you are giving them straight nutes and he is water water feeding or water feed watering.many scnerios but i think youre always giving the plant a steady amount of nutes since your hydro and he may not be proving the plants with the same.

Thanks DV. Another funny thing is he uses RO and I use tap water, and it dawned on me after my first grow it was from my water softener. I now use hard water but I don't ever see myself doing soil. Hydro is too easy to maintain and I'm lazy.

there you go WC i hear tap water has cal/mag in it and r/o im not sure see there are so many small differences that can make big changes to the quaily. i have ran the same strain through high wattages low wates out door in door different nutes same nutes it always comes out different even if i try to match it weed can be funny like that sometimes lol good luck

If your tap water is 300ppm or below just use your tap water with MB if its over 300ppm like my dirty ass water 560 on 700 scale. Maybe mine is 300 on a 500 scale. idk Use half RO half tap. Screw adding calmag and bullshit! Half tap half RO 7g a gal fat stinky dank buds everytime any strain! I hate calmag it's the most mis understood of nutrients of growing! There's no rights. Always messes up sometime or another. Tap water makes everything soooooo much better!! Not to mention its FREEEEEE! Hahah

So now I'm thinking. Tap water users is your 300ppm tap water on a 500 scale or 700 scale. If its on a 500 scale screw the half RO! I only use straight RO for my 2 weeks flush. MB is the cheapest and easiest way to grow dank buds. I will never grow any other way. Makes growing fun again! Thanks for this forum.

Thaaaank You!!

Thaaaank You!!

After many mediocre/terrible runs using a multiple-part nutrient res, I stumbled upon this thread. I'm so glad I did. This run of girls is the happiest, healthiest and most vigorous I've had the pleasure of growing. The pink shit kicks ass! Ph has been stable and it's almost a little boring without myriad deficiencies to sort out. I've just had to top off the res and, thanks to the "Ask Lucas" site, i found a great formula to add the appropriate ratio of Maxibloom to get the right ppm's/ec. I've struggled with the search function on IC, so just in case anyone's having trouble finding the info, here's what i used successfully:
Using markup math: (target ppm/current ppm)-1*7*res volume=g of maxibloom to add to reach +/-1300ppm
First, I topped the res with water(i use tap, mine's 93 ppm). I then took a ppm reading(700 conversion), which was 940. My res volume is 37 gallons(listed as 40, but doesn't hold quite that much.) So my formula looked like this:
(1300/940)-1*7*37=99.19 g maxibloom. Lucas' site says this formula will end up a little hot, so I held the maxi back to 98 g and my res, after 2 hours equalizing and a couple tablespoons Ph down reads: ppm's (@700)- 1310
EC- 1.8
Ph-5.8
Hope this helps some folks, sorry if this is repeated info. I just couldn't find it on here. Thanks to Ioni, Lucas and the other contributors. This is looking like the best run of my life. Can't wait to post some results. Whooo Hooooo!!!:tiphat::dance013:

This is the only product list/ feeding schedule needed:

Maxibloom @ 7g/gal

absolutely...but so many people asked about when to apply KB(liquid &powder) i thought it may help...

Maxibloom @ 7g/gallon from pretty much a seedling, to flower? Does it matter if you are in soil, or coco? Thanks for the help!

I use MB from seedling to flower. I cut it down to 3.5g/gal for seedlings until they have a few sets of leaves. I slowly stop feeding in the last few weeks. I dont really buy into the flushing for taste thing, I just think its a waste of nutrients.

I also use coco and am of the opinion that if you aren't growing organically, soil is a poor choice.

Coco is simple. You have control of precisely what goes into your plants. This is why MB is perfect. It has everything the plants need.

So you have coco which has no nutrients and MB which has everything the plants need. Mix them together and viola!

Not to mention coco has superior drainage, oxygen holding capacity, cleaner (IMO), less bugs (IME) and it can be watered like soil.

I have never seen truly white roots until I went to coco...growing out from the top of the pot!

If using coco or MB in general, I would def have some sort of pH up. It brings my tap water way into the 4's. I have used DynaGro "Protekt" and GH pH up.

Wait. What was the question? ;)
