*The K.I.S.S. Method*

botanicare coco gro is awesome in bricks so is gen hydro cocotek both cheap and have great results i have switched over from AN 3 part running lucas dyna-gro pretty much everything now i am killing it with the hard water veg+bloom and a bloom booster either canna pk 13/14 or hydroplex,,,, this shit has been life changing for me but to each his own,, my to cents find what works for you and dont look back ,mj doent need a dozen different bottles of snake oil to thrive

Hola Burns1, my local store has the Botanicare CoCoGro 20 lb. bags, I'm jus' being a cheapskate, liking that fact the bricks cost a bit less than the readymade stuff, I do the manual labor. I'll consider the Botanicare, thanks for your time & input.

Peace, Love, Calicult

So an update; I have a Sweet Berry (Indica dominant mix) and a Super Lemon Haze going outdoors in 5 gallon smartpots, Nutrifield NS coco, Maxibloom and Protekt in my tap (plus ph down to get it to 6.0). They look happy, a little tip burn on the finicky SLH, the SB taking it all. They are 3 weeks into flower...

Peace, Love, Calicult

I just changed over to KISS. So stoked about the idea of using 1 reservoir from seed to harvest. I am not growing in the most ideal spot and dealing with tones of water, diff reservoir, draining mass amounts of water and runoff got really old. This is so much better for me.

A copy and paste of PM sent from me to OP. 4-23-2013

"Fix your KISS thread
More incorrect info on 1st page of post. It's common knowledge that you mix nutes into the full amount of water and not in a jar. Mixing in the jar will cause precipitation and possible locking of some nutrients.

How about another correction modification from the beginning where the wrong info starts."

Admittedly last time I posted here I didn't know this either. I did however post significantly on the topic of keeping the info in this thread correct. I didn't receive much love for raising the topic of things that were wrong. (Neg rating from OP, I may have returned the favor don't remember) I did read every post in this thread at the time of my original postings in 2011. Honestly I still only want correct info shared.

Check with GH if you want, but they advise to add MAXI to full amount of water. So add your 5 gram tsp to a gal or 4l of water. (my original beef with this thread was 5 gram is 1tsp, OP's 3rd post states otherwise)

"...READ ENTIRE THREAD...
IF you're serious." OP quoted here

This isn't a realistic correction for new people coming here for correct info. Newbies don't come here for the wrong info on page 1, to then find the correct info on posting 50 or 100. A few times others have pointed this no mixing MAXI in jars thing out.

...seems to me you're making a mountain out of a mole hill, 'much ado about nothing', as it were.

...the fact of the matter is that hundreds of us have read and participated in this thread over the years and one thing that quickly becomes clear to ANY new MaxiBloom user is that mixing the shit so you don't get some settling is near impossible.

...another thing worth noting is that MaxiBloom is a stepping stone, an easy way to simplify and once you use if for a while you learn about other alternatives, ...like Jack's Pro hydro for example.

...so don't sweat the small shit grasshopper and bitching at Ioni Botani because he doesn't provide corrections to your liking is just foolishness, lol, ...be greatful he started this thread instead.

peace, bozo

Yeah we'll this thread was wrong from the beginning. Got to say I'm happy to point it out after the way I was flamed for saying it was wrong before. Then to be able to go and find out more wrong info from the very 1st page. Ha ha seriously garbage here. Get it right and it's all good. Continuing to defend incorrect knowledge is foolishness.

My 1st post was page 85 post #1259. I read every post up until then. I'm in no way grateful for Ioni's incorrect posting.

Bozo you had about 3/4 of a relevant thought there in that posting above. Seriously such comments show you have no understanding to what I'm saying. Please comment on other postings.

While her post was not quite as diplomatic as it could have been - it does not mean she was wrong, nor does it mean that a correction to the first page on this topic is unwarranted.

In short - she's right. She is most especially right when she says this:

She's not wrong. You may not like the pitch of her voice, but the message is balls-on accurate.

Heather,

sorry you had bad experiences using mb and Ioni was passed this info by a then mod who got it from a member who no longer posted, dongle69.

i never worried about a small ammt of undissolved mb at the bottom of my jug b/c my plants told me they were happy. since i never mixed any in a small jar to pre dissolve i never experienced any issues and i rarely check this thread.

if you want an ez 1 part nute try gh flora nova bloom @ 8ml/gal....its thick but i think it edges out mb @ 1tsp/gal.

I am thinking about switching to Maxibloom. Is it 7g/maxibloom to a gallon of water in all stages except for young seedlings? Can I feed with Maxibloom every watering while growing in dirt?-or should I alternate Maxibloom, Water, Maxibloom, Water? Thanks for the info!

i like to use a tad less than 1tsp of mb per gal h2o..........that is the smaller end of the scooper.

i grow in 100% coco and feed each day but if i was in soil i would feed/water every 2-3 days.

i do not know the gm per tsp as ive never seen the need to weigh it......just scoop it.

I wouldnt just scoop it. Weigh out 7g. This thread was created to illustrate how to match ratios found in formulas like "Lucas". The amount of MB you use is a very important part of getting the intended ratios.

If you weren't concerned with Lucas ratios or consistent EC levels when feeding, I wouldnt worry about it.

Thanks everyone! I still have some nutes left(I bought like $200 worth last December), but when I'm through with that junk-ima switch to Maxibloom. I will weigh out 7 grams when it comes time. Do many people use Maxibloom in dirt?, or should I just keep it to coco/coco hempys, and regular hempys?(Perlite/vermiculite) Sorry about all the questions, thanks again!

why would you not just use the smaller side of the scoop?

ive bee doing it for ~3yr w/no issues and im curious what i may run in to if i dont weigh it.

am i right in assuming you have experience w/mb?

i think the smaller side of the scoop is around 6.7 -6.8grams i could check tonite when i mix a batch, should be almost about right. this is my first time using this stuff and im happy althought my plants are growing very short/squat and could use alot more "N" for that xtra boost of growth. i started from seed using 7g's per gal and this is the only issue i see so far is not enough "N"

You want "short/squat", not stretchy plants. Stretchy means not enough light. Plants stretch for the light. Short/squat means thicker stems and stronger, better yielding plants. You do not need more "N"....

Are people actually arguing about the size of a teaspoon? I do a lot of cooking and baking. A tad off isn't going to hurt anything. We're not making explosives here, or being super bad. You're going to have a LOT more problems being off on the ph than you ever will a gram or two. Criminy, I'm using 2 tsp per gallon (unweighed) in my hydro. Growing like gang busters and no burning. If my plants are using it all up, with no ill effects, I'm going to keep using it at 2tsp per gallon.
