*The K.I.S.S. Method*

All I can tell you is what works for me with MY tap water and strain (blue dream). I grow ebb and flow for flower with hydroton. Mixed res starts at about a ph7, I bring it down to around 4.5 and let it climb back up. I usually PH every 3 to 4 days. that's half a scoop KB and a full MB. My 2 cents worth.

Thanks aswell webecat il try your method too il let it drop to 4.5 and then climb back up, will that work as I'm using compost and your hydro? Thanks again buddy!

afternoon fellas,

I plan on starting my worm farm this week for ewc / compost tea purposes and was wondering if anyone can offer some insight / tips / tricks with incorporating the two (ewc / compost tea) into the kiss nutrient system? can I dissolve maxibloom right into the tea? should I use them at different times? too much of a good thing? want to keep it as simple as possible! i apologize if this has been discussed before, only up to page 34 on this thread :whee:

also, I plan on either making my own soil mix (if I can find supplies locally), use Fox Farm Ocean Forest and or a coco / perlite mix. does one medium make a noticeable difference with yield / quality? what do you think works best with the system?

thanks!

Im using just normal multi purpose compost £5 per 56 liters it douse not seem to bad its quite light and fluffy not sticky heavy stuff, but its still not quality it says its peat? Thanks I would be verry greatful if you could help me, thankyou! Have you got any experience growing OG because the seeds i have purchased are fem OG kush? Thanks again!

If you're growing in dirt, then the pH of the mid 6's should work fine.

mgk :tiphat:

Re: *The K.I.S.S. Method*

One scoop MB and a half scoop POWDER KB per gal the whole flower cycle is what I did in hydro. First ever indoor grow with NO issues, yielded .71 GPW, and very dank stuff.

What is was your watering regime. I've done kiss hempys but I have a aeroponic bucket I turned to a mom bucket and not so sure on water regimes. So far I've just been adding nutes. Same exact mix we always used in hempys. That was 7 days ago. The things have grown an INCREDIBLE amount. Now the roots are starting to turn pink from the maxi. I checked pH yesterday and I was at high end of 6 and low end and of 7. So I know my pH needs to go down to 5.8-6.0. What do I do. Add straight water. Our water comes out at 6.0 so no adjusting needed. If I add straight water do I need to dump Rez out? I'm looking for a good cycle to keep these moms pumping out clones but not burned up by nutes. But damn 7 days of maxi growth is awesome.

Hey Matt, I just flood the hydroton every 4 hours with lights on and when the rez gets low I would add to it or do a complete refill if it was way low. I have a small 150 cab so the rez is only 6 gal and lasts a little over a week. The first time I over shot the PH down I worried, but it didn't seem to bother the girls so I rolled with it. When I pop some new beans I have I'll be curious to see how it works with the different strains. PH4 may shock the shit out of them. The moms I top feed every 6 hours with drippers, 18/6 light cycle. I hope that answered your question. I'm still a noob myself

I have a question for DWC any guys out there. Iv'e been top feeding my veg side with 1/2 a scoop per gal with great results. And so I made a little cheap bubble cloner and got some cuttings going and left 2 girls in to play with DWC. 1/2 a scoop doesn't seem to be enough to give them that lush green look, they all seem to be to light green and not healthy looking. I just switched to a full scoop but let them get dry so there prolly toast anyway, but what is the best ratio for DWC veg with MB?

If you want to use Earth Worm Castings and a good soil mix I would avoid using any chemical nutrients at all.

With a proper soil you won't need anything but water or a few special ingredients for fun.

Head over to the Organic soil section!

The two methods that you are incorporating are entirely opposing! It doesn't make sense to those that really understand soil and the whole soil food web.

PM me if you want to discuss it further.

As i said before exactly what is reccomended 7g of maxi per gallon is what mine grow best at. 4ml of silica blast per gallon as well. Thats it. And 1/2 tsp of awesome blossoms from week 4-7. We had the same results feeding only a half a teaspoon per gallon, not very green

Btw i grow in a aeroponic dwc mixture, i call it deep aero culture. :D

hi guy,
does the lucas formula work well with auto flowering strains?
im sure it does, but i have dry maxi bloom dry kool bloom and a little silica boost (rhino skin fro AN)
whats a good feeding regime i can give the suckers that isnt an over kill dosage?
im using a 16 qt water reservoir with 4 net pots, 4 rock wool cubes and some hydrocorn clay pebbles.

if anyone can give me some soild info that be kickass, dudes on the grasscity forums dance around questions lol.
i just need to understand what feeding regime would work best with the little autos

I don't ever remember 4 fingers for 10 bucks. I do remember cheap weed that would barley get you buzzed, 80 cent smokes and acid that made you stupid for the next week. BTW Matt the DWC is for fun, I think I will always be a Ebb and Flow guy. I may even try organics sometime down the road.

Id like to say im doin my hydro for fun but in combination with this kiss method, i have never seen such a healthy plant grow so fast. So im looking into making a DIY set up in the near future. Seriously the thread is in my signature they are beasts!

That is almost identical 2 my nutes exceptfor the liquid koolbloom I am using some awesome blossoms that I had leftover from technaflora. But yeah one teaspoon of silica with a maxi is 6.0 on the dot every time. Its really easy formula. But with my adventure into the hydro world I've been having to do quite a bit of changing to try and keep the pH in a desired range

So I'm using Kiss method in DWC right now and my PPMs seem way too high.

Everything being used is at 50-75% strength too. I figured I'd go light and adjust from there.. apparently not(!)

MaxiBloom - 1.5g/Liter (which is 6g per 4L; a gram less than the "magic number")
CalMag - 0.75mL/Liter (3.0mL per 4L; at least 2mL less per 4L than recommended)
Root Stimulator - 0.5mL/Liter (half strength)
Protekt Silica - 1mL/Liter (recommended is 1.25mL per 4L)

My PPM's came out to over 800 (using 500 conversion scale). I'm using a truncheon meter. I mixed 35 Liters of nutes.
This was for young/regular veg stage.

What gives guys? And should I water this down to like 400 PPMs? Is the CalMag adding a lot of PPMs - cause I need it..?

Duno what to do, hmm.
