We have those here also. Chanterelles have been hitting lately also....along with Oysters.
Here's my cloning recipe:
1 jar water
cuttings
A couple drops protekt
A couple drops fulvic acid
A small pinch of kelp
Soak cuttings in solution for 12-24 hours, place in rooting medium, apply humidity and let them do their thing. I get roots in little over a week, which is good enough for me.

bigshrimp do you soak the whole cutting or just the bit thats going in the medium?
your clones look good, nice and green. much bigger than the ones i take - and mine go fairly yellow sometimes but usually grow away fine.

Its usually the whole stem that gets soaked. Depends really on how many in trying to jam in a jar.
I've never had much success with small cuts, mine always seem to catch a fungus if their too little.
I gave everyone a little diluted char juice (heinous sewage smell) from the char ive got charging. That's why the rooted ones were so green. Positive results most definitely especially the more established plants. Did 32 oz of char juices to 5 gal of water for reference.

This is what im doing with the rest of the char

Its intended to be a worm lure, im going to partially bury it under a old mulberry and see how many worms i can get before fall.

BS, great looking cuts you have there. Never thought of soaking them in char juice........nice and healthy!
I am also charging some char.....I put in my worm bin that I will be harvesting before long for a new mix.

Yo dawg, I'm assuming from your avatar you're up in Maine. Any attempts at oudoor there? Was just talking about it last night with my old man as we used to vacation way up North. Can't imagine the quick croppers you'd need up there.

Recycled Organic Living Soil..........top dressed with some Neem Seed meal, alfalfa and Kelp meal. I filled the holes with 5 gallons of ROLS that had DE in the mix and I wanted to cycle that out so I am building my outdoor spots with that for now. Nothing else but what the native soil has and the HID in the sky.

This is my first real outdoor grow these Blueberry crosses and Purps want to finish early. In Maine but not my plate for goodness sake haha. Some longer flowering plants that are just kicking into flower power hoping to have mild fall like the last couple of years, got a mini greenhouse almost ready to finish plants. I have just started recycling my soil and couldn't be happier but have a lot to learn on reduce recycle and reuse.
I had a Shittake on Sunday morning.

The char water i wouldn't recommend unless your feeling adventurous. A little more leaf twist on a couple, and an experimental 50/50 sandy loam/rols took it badly and is suffering from what i assume is ph issues. Obviously results would vary with your charging and processing technique and materials.

Yes, this log is a Sweetgum and it was inoculated with an early strain of shittake with a heavy first flush run. The oaks I have should start around the end of October. We have been out spotting trees at a friends place that he wants to clear and will be cutting logs as soon as the weather turns cold this year.
I have a Japanese drill bit just for the inoculating the spawn which was sawdust and not plugs. The sawdust spawns faster than the plugs do.
Fun stuff and good eating.
