nice you are back:D

how is it going with you?:D

:pirate:

hey slimj, im cool, im steadily amazed tho over the trouble my childhood friends get themselves into. Wish i could tell the stories, but i cant here in open forums. but ill say, between the lot of us that grew up in my neighborhood, there are enough strong personalities and strange events to make a descent film out of it hehe... :D

 sup .. glad to hear you made it through the rough spot .. looking forward to your grow this year peace:tiphat:

thanks bro, had a bit of a downer yes, but summer is ahead .. think things looks brighter ahead then behind idd..

hope all of you have had a better month then me.. its been a month of very strange events. Nothing threatening or dangerous to me, but very strange..

anyway.. ive got quite a few strains in soil, ive been delayed because of div events. They are just coming out of soil today, this is because the house im renting is getting sold so i had the owners visit me last week to look at the house. I couldnt have any plants in the house then so i had to cut down my harvest over a week early. I almost lost the harvest all together. Had to hide it in the forest when the owners dropped by..

it all worked out just fine tho, but now im not a minute too early with the outdoor beans.

I put the following strains in soil 2 days ago, some are coming up quicker then others.

NR1 flash seeds
annapurna ''
nirvana sky ''
speedy gonzales ''
jet 47 ''
purple M ''

sour 60 f2
bluestreak f2

easyryderX blueryder (guerilla strain denmark)
short term amnezia
lowryder 2
pehkuruder

and then I ran out of soil, so Ive got to go tomorrow to buy some more and plant the last strains which are..

sunflower (guerilla strain germany)
autoak47xNYCDxbluestreak
dieselryder

to a friend ive given autoAK47's, jet 47 from flash seeds and some short term amnezias.

Im sorry guys, but we are going to be killing alot of top notch, state of the art genetics in this attempt to acclimatize and grow them here in hyperborea.

my friend put his STA seedlings outside for acclimatizing to the 5 degree nights and 10-15 degree days which we have now here in the early summer. He had 17, of which 9 survived the harsh beginning.

Similar attempts was made with the pehkuruder, all the pehkuruders survived, some pehkuruders was sowed outside in 5-10 degree weather and survived just fine.

im late with prepping spots, im sure ill fuck up some of the spots but hopefully ill succeed with some plants from some strains.

wish me luck ;) peace all

Woo hoooo Arctic is back. Party Party.

Nice to hear from you again man:tiphat:
a bachelor party, a stripper, a power outage (crisis), a murder (not kidding), a wedding, have to move, a funeral, a leg injury, a kilo that was just barely saved by hiding it in the bush...

:fsu: :witch2:

I thought my life was kind of exciting with guerilla growing and treeclimbing. I'm gonna have to go up north for an adrenaline rush next spring:bump:

Crazy stuff man. Hope ev. that matters is allright. Typicly a spring thing though. Always so much happening in the spring weather you plan on it or not..............

oh and by the way I think it says in the cronicles of the kings of haalogaland that the first king, i cant rememember his name was married to the same princess solveig. That'd make us northerners some type of nordic/sami landstrain hehehe.. We have lived in symbiosis with the sami for atleast 1500 years. Its possible that we have always lived in symbiosis with the sami.

Yes yes yes. I heard about this on the radio a year ago or something.(never underestimate the power of "P2"). (P3 is for anybody who wanna ride the bandwagon:muahaha:)

I think that king had two wives, one sami and one Norwegian.
They were talking about how the samis and Norwegians were living in much better symbioses during those olden times. It was in the 19th. century things were getting a little bit out of hand I guess.
I do agree with you in principle that they should have their own country, Ill just remind you about the current situation in israel and ask... which country were you planning on giving them?

He he. I can not give them anything.:dunno: , Except a piece of myself. Just rambling down thoughts on Hyperborea my man.

Current situation in Israel is fucked up though. I can't believe that they bordered that aid ship in international waters. Israel Government should be ashamed. I highly doubt that they have looked at the "tora"(jewish laws) close enough. There it says that one should look at a problem from seven different angles, before taking the appropriate action.

Religion is strange though. So many people claim to follow it, but how many actually do?

:bashhead:

Im sorry to say, I think you peeps down south have a lot to learn about culture up north because its more complicated then I think many southerners realize.

He he. Ofcourse we do. I'm just looking at you guys from the outside, trying to get a peek on the inside.

I guess you have those Finnish migration waves to blend in there too. You guys are just a potpurri of mixes huh.

The most famous "Finnish-North Norwegian":bigeye: was Bjørn Wirkola I think. He was a famous skijumper in the 1960's:skiiing:.
If you try to do something really hard, that very few have done before, we say: "You can't jump:jump: like Wirkola" Because he was "the man":smokey:.

But yes, most of us up north has some asian tundra dweller blood. Personally im quite proud of that side of my ancestry. I mean the same are the tuffest people on the planet, tundra ppl, arctic tundra ppl.

honestly there are so few of us up north that naturally we all have some sami blood or we would be degenerated the bunch of us. Its also quite apparent that all the samis has quite a bit of nordic blood aswell. lets just say they are quite a bit taller and bigger then your avg asian. Not to mention, blonder...

The big shocker to all the "other" .. uh.. white peeps... is maybe that all white peeps is likely to have loads of asian blood from the time of Alexander the great and the time in caucasus. 1500 years ago, 500 AD is when the caucasians migrated from the black sea area to Scandinavia due to heavy attacks by the Romans.

Coincidentally, 500 AD is also around the time when prophet muhammed is born... coincidentally 481 AD was the year of the sacking of Rome...

They migrated from what is now known as Azerbaijan, land of the Æsir...

We learn in school that these people thought the world was flat, I can promise you this, you learn NOTHING in school... these people did NOT think the world was flat.

Ill tell you why.. because the Norwegians and the Normans that invaded england around 1000 AD... IS ONE AND THE SAME PEOPLE!!!

Tell me how 2000 years after pythagoras, a people that travels to the land of the midnight sun... where you can actually see that the sun circulates around the world with your own eyes, a people that migrated yearly from Norway to France for the winter.

Tell me how these builders of civilization could possibly have thought the world was flat after they saw north Norway.. its not possible!

our school history books are a fraud!! And we are all idiots for buying it for so long as we have!

Good stuff man! If you leave some key parts of it out you could start the local chapter of VIGRID:weakestli

Just joking.

I read what you write.

Superhappy grows man. Wish you the best of luck with that.

May we all get plenty of sun and rain this summer.

Later man.:gday:

Hello all of U!

Put my plants outdoors today @60 N. They had been indoors under my 90w led for 14 days and were looking about ready to get the outdoor treatment. They were on 20/4 inside and on that light schedule 2/3 Old Farmer Nepal showed sex- males and same with the FINX 2/3 showed their balls. Didnt think that they would under 20h of light but glad so i could kill them off before i planted outside.

Will be starting a journal most probably but not until a couple of weeks when they start to take of, dont have any photos yet so..

What i have so far is
7 NR1
6 Annapura
6 Nirvana sky
all Super Autos from Flash

Then i have the lone Oldfarmer Nepal and the lone FINX, hopefully ladys as the others showed sex already and were male.

Will be adding a heap of autos in about two weeks time, cant plant them now as i will be away at the end of summer and dont want them to finish until end of August.

Take care and keep all the good comments going.

Ummm, you seem to have some out dated info on the Sami. Unfortunately having sami blood doesn't make you Asian :comfort:

Nah, I'm no history teacher but I keep updated on this stuff. Dna research shows that the sami aren't much related to the samoyed or other asiatic peoples. While it is true that ALL european populations have some asian blood in them, the sami aren't on the top of that list. It's actually southern europeans who have the most mix. Even the most western people (genetically) the basque have 12% asian admixture.

The sami are suggested to have migrated from the Iberian refugio following the retrieving ice masses along the atlantic coast but this is debatable. The later arriving proto scandinavians and baltic finns mixed with the sami, but are both genetically so far from the sami that it is thought the southern sami were genetically distinct from the northerners.

Never heard about those azeri migrations. Do you have a link I could look into. I am able to read norwegian with some effort but english is preffed :D

A

arcticsun

hey dudes..

I quite like the topic at hand, Scandinavian history and cultures :D

First of all let me just say that I dont care much for who is genetically related to who. Im a spiritualist, I believe in mind over matter.

I do care about culture, because culture is a system, a system is intelligence. Intelligence transpires matter, matter is formed by intelligence. Thus the body is formed by culture, we inhibit the body that we need, whether it be plant or human.. asian, Saami or nordic genes.. its irrelevant. My body is perfect for me! I am the totality of the intelligence that influences the body. My body is adaptable, I can be whatever shape I want to be.

With that in mind, lets look at Scandinavian history.

10000 years ago, the sealevels were over 200 meters higher then they are now. Around 5000 years ago they were still over 100 meters higher then today.

Ok we must bear this in mind when we look at the history of the different cultures. We must also realize that genetics and culture is not rigid structures or systems, its adaptable systems.

If the climate in an area changes, the people in the area has options, one option is to change the way of life. To adapt the culture to the climate change, another option is to migrate to wherever the climate is beneficial to the culture.

So, cultures may have remained, but the people may have changed. Look at America today compared to America 200 years ago, the population demography has changed and the climate has also changed. The land has also changed tremendously.

So.. when I talk about cultures, I cannot make any conclusions regarding the ethnicity of the populations in these cultures. It is also, to me .. when trying to maintain a hyperborean view of the world, irrelevant what ethnicity has maintained what culture through the years. Whats important is who maintains it today, culture is intelligence and information. That info is solely in the hands of the people of the culture. No matter what ethnicity they have.

To me, looking at a people as an ethnic union is then not important.

I have not investigated deeply into the genetics of the Scandinavian people, I think it may be more interesting to foreigners then it really is to me. So you may be right thule when you say the Saami are not closely related to Asians. I honestly dont know who is related to who. I read in the newspaper the other day that white peeps .. or caucasians or whatever.. are 2% neanderthal lololol :D

Ok when we realize that the ocean was hundreds of meters higher then it is today just a few thousand years ago, we understand that Finland.. the land of the thousand lakes must have been submerged under water not very long ago. Which is why it has all the lakes, because the sea just withdrew from that land not long ago.

Ok so Scandinavia would have been an island at the times of the great northern forests that I talk about. up until about 2500 years ago it would have been an island.
So the oldest culture in Scandinavia is actually very similar to the one that still remains today along the Norwegian coast. They would have been fishermen and boatsmen. Probably farmers aswell.

The oldest settlements we know about in Scandinavia is not in the south, it is in the northern, arctic region. In Tromsø, at 70 north, 10000 year old stone wall house foundations has been found.

Interesting stuff man. Funny if the Sami people came from portugal, just never thought that, but it sort of makes sence I guess.

I have always thought that they came from Asia (sibir). They have so much similar cultures(when it comes to shamaism and reindeers atleast) Even In Mongolia there are about 200 Lapps(what the Mongolian tourist brochure wrote).

Are Lapps and Sami the same?

Kalmykia in far west russia also have nomadic lapps. Along with the entire siberian coastline ofcourse.

That is why it makes no sence to me that the samis in Scandinavia and Northeast Russia Came from Iberian penisula.

But ofcourse it could be true. I just need to let the info sink in a little bit I think.

Extremly Intersting stuff this. I don't know why, but central Asia is very very interesting too me.

I have(had) (can't find the book which was a firs edition inherrited from granpa. Fuck Fuck Fuck) a very intersting book about this. It is written of a Swedish Explorer named Sven Hedin. It is called: Mitt liv som oppdagelsesreisende.( My life as and explorer) Written in 1940 I think.

Been some years since I've read the book, but If you are into Explorer litterature and have an interest in central asiatic cultures. This book is golden if you ask me.

Ok when we realize that the ocean was hundreds of meters higher then it is today just a few thousand years ago, we understand that Finland.. the land of the thousand lakes must have been submerged under water not very long ago. Yes yes yes again. The prime radiochannel in Norway(P2) gave me valuable teachings on this subject too. They were discussing what was "true" Norwegian culture. One guy claimed(and he made sence) that it was the coast and fisher culture which was what Norwegians should be proud of, because this was much older than the "farmer inland culture", that was promoted so much during the national romantic era (1860-1910 aboutish)
the farmer culture was the one that were focused on in paintings, music, litterature and such. But in reality it is the coast culture that is "true", both when it comes to cooking, buildings and so on. All the inland recepies comes from either the coast or the continent....

The old logging house building tecnicue that so many thinks are "norwegian", is actually Russian.

I love this style of building though, and have taken down an old loghouse from 1750 and put it up somewhere else(the farmer wanted to burn it!) I had help from friends of course(mostly one):thank you:) although you will never read this......

It is a genius building technique. Just like Lego. It has taken almost 6 years now, but the aim is to enjoy the work, and not let it become a burden. It is coming to an end now though. Maybe it will be finnished this summer. It is not as finnished as it looks like on this pic, but here is a little peek of the inside:

Eurasia is very interesting indeed, but what ive discovered lately is that Scandinavia has a history that is just as old. So im quite into the ancient north atm. It must have been a magical place to the people on BC earth :D

Yes yes yes again. The prime radiochannel in Norway(P2) gave me valuable teachings on this subject too.

hahaha.. yeh gotta love govt sponsided mass media :D

They were discussing what was "true" Norwegian culture. One guy claimed(and he made sence) that it was the coast and fisher culture which was what Norwegians should be proud of

We should indeed be proud of the coast culture, its one of the most influencial cultures of the modern world. But we should also be more proud of the farmers that farm in the most inhospitable conditions i think. And we should also be extremely proud of the Saami people who appreciate the tundra in such a fantastic way. Its really an amazing culture that has many sides we in the modernized bit of our society have not yet begun to understand.

, because this was much older than the "farmer inland culture", that was promoted so much during the national romantic era (1860-1910 aboutish)
the farmer culture was the one that were focused on in paintings, music, litterature and such. But in reality it is the coast culture that is "true", both when it comes to cooking, buildings and so on. All the inland recepies comes from either the coast or the continent....

The coast culture has been very influencial in modern age, everyone knows about the vikings and so on. But not many knows how old the culture actually is and that it developed in a time when the sealevel on earth was much higher. This coast culture is not unique to Scandinavia, nor is it unique to any ethnic group.

But we see today, with the state of this worlds oceans, that we need to preserve what is left of this old coastal culture. Because I know from what ive learnt from the fisherman bit of my family that this culture carries an amazing amount of information that the modern world does not consider. Things about the weathersystems and the oceans that it will take hundreds of years for modern science to regain if its lost. And we are loosing more and more of it every day with this industrialized fleet of fishing boats that roam our coasts today.

Everything from the fish farms we have in every fjord today to the rapid building development close to river outlets which destroys the feeding habitat of the river fish and creates dead fjords.

Trawlers that scrape their industrial equipment along the seafloor and destroy the corals and kelpforests where the fish feed and spawn.

Oil industry that wants to drill in the middle of the biggest spawning grounds in the north atlantic.

Brainwashed kids with a "consumer" minded ideoloy running rampant with motor vehickles in the fragile arctic nature.

etc etc.. this coastal culture.. a culture that has functioned as the worlds communication line, or intelligence is severely threatened.
If we look at the world today, we see that it is populated along the coastlines and along the major rivers.

But the culture has some advantages. First of all is the mobility, the fishing fleet is not grounded to one area, we see today that the eskimos on greenland is taking up fishing because of less ice to hunt on. So even if culture dies one place, it may live on another place, with another ethnic group.

Another example that nobody owns culture, culture is intelligence and it transpires all matter. Its fluid, it can move from one ethnic group to another depending on need.

As a spiritualist, I deeply care for this culture. I am also deeply connected to it through family ties and ive talked about earlier how i grew up with 3 uncles that were active fishermen and both my grandfathers were also fishermen. All of them were running a traditional fishing with a traditional "Sjark" and a small farm on the side. This way of life has remained in my area and in my family until modern age when my father moved to the city to become an electrician.

For those not in the know, here is a picture of a traditional 19th century Norwegian fishing boat. Popularly called a "sjark" :D

http://home.monet.no/~kluge/Vega%20images/Sjark.jpg[/quote]

Commonly every household would have a boat like this, in addition to a small farm in a windtorn farm where not much but potatoes and grass would grow. In the last 500 years people have developed one of the most hardened cultures on this earth, farming where nothing grows and challenging the wild polar ocean in these small boats.
These boat types are extremely seaworthy btw.

Many many many men has been lost at sea here, it is still today one of the most common newspaper headlines.. fisherman lost at sea.

So its a shame what happens today, we rape our oceans with these modern trawlers and fish farms. And this beautiful ancient original culture is more and more put in the shadows to the benefit of this modern monoculture we see so much of today.

That is so awesome man, great to see that you maintain old traditions like that. Great job

many of the houses you have down on the westcoast are cultural treasures. Can you imagine the trees they must have had in the times of the great forests?

I have seen petroglyphs depicting boats with many dozen men on it, I can imagine that they used these old giant sequoia trees to build such big boats back then.

Peace mate, your new thread rocks by the way,

weather here has turned to shit again, damnit.. i hope it betters soon. We are having such weird weather patterns these last years, its warm in april and the beginning of may, but turns real cold all of a sudden in june.

Its no weather to put plants outside at the moment, im aiming for june 15th, we have a new moonphase on june 12th. Typically the weather turns when we get a new moonphase. Im crossing my fingers and hoping that will ring true. :D

yeah bro, these new autos sound really cool.

cant wait to see if they can handle outdoor temperatures here in the far north. Maybe ill have to build them some type of sheltering from the rain.

we will see what becomes :D ill keep you posted m8, thanks for dropping in btw

okokok...

I have not yet managed to create the understanding that I wanted.

In order to understand hyperborea, we must have use our imagination. Visualize and such..

I am merely a storyteller and not a historian. My mission is to continue writing the never ending epics of the magic land in the far north. Today, june 4th it was snowing, we have fresh snow in the mountains down to about 400 meters. This most magic land on earth, when i whisper forth the tidings that she brings, will you believe me?

Humans on planet earth, how they fight and fuzz over desert lands.
How easily they forget...

The things id like to show you guys, it is not easily expressed with words. But I will take you back to a land and a day so strange that I hopefully will have you wondering what is real and what is just a story..

But this is just a story, as im no scholar, ive just got an over active imagination. :D

This is the story of the land in the far north that sank in the ocean. It was a blessed land, around which the heavens themselves rotated and the year would have only two days in this land. Summers would have nights with no darkness, and winters would have days with no light.

It was and still is today.. sacred .. it is and it was then a land that was alive. Alive like we are alive to the people that lived there. Have you seen the film Avatar? The people would treat the land like the natives in that movie.

Do you guys from Norway remember this landslide last year when those houses washed to sea in Trøndelag??

http://www.tv2nyhetene.no/innenriks/flere-hus-og-hytter-rast-paa-sjoeen-2622477.html

For you non natives, Trøndelag lies in a region which the VIKings called "Helgeland". It is the region in the middle of Norway which covers the stretch up till the polar circle. Helgeland literally means in English, "holy land".

North of Helgeland is the mythical Haalogaland, modern translations calls it in English, "land of fire".

... now there exists an ancient myth among the coastal people of Norway, they say that there was once an island outside of Røst in Lofoten. And that this island sank in the ocean in ancient times. This land was called Utrøst ant it was a magical place. The place has remained in many tales of folklore, like in the story of the "Cormorants of Utrøst" and the farmer who lived there and his sons.

Well in my story, this is all true. The folktales of the north is more then just stories, it is actual events baked into stories with moral twists that leads us to the answer of what really happened.

Lets read the story of the cormorants of Utrøst one more time.

The Cormorants of Utrøst.

In their way home, the fishermen of the Northland often find bits of straw on the rudders of their boats, or barley grains in the stomachs of the fish they have caught. Then they say that they have gone through Utrøst or one of the other enchanted lands described in the legends of the Northlands. They are re v e a l e d only to the devout, or people with second sight in peril at sea, and they appear in places where there is no real land. The inhabitants of these magic lands till the soil, raise sheep and go fishing like other people, but there the sun shines on greener meadows and richer fields than anywhere else in the Northland: happy the man who lands on one of these sunny little islands, or even gets a glimpse of one. "He’s safe", the people up there will say. An old song in the Peder Dass style gives a complete description of an island off Træna, in Helgeland, called Sandflesa; the water abounds with fish and the woods with all kinds of game.

The locals say that a big, flat stretch of cultivated land sometimes appears in the middle of the Vestfjord, just high enough above the water to keep the ears of wheat dry. There are also tales of another enchanted land, with green hills and yellow fields of grain off Røst, on the southern tip of Lofoten: it is called Utrøst.

The peasant from Utrøst has a boat like the other inhabitants of the Northland, and every now and then, with spread sails, it heads straight for a fisherman; but as he braces himself for the collision, the magic boat disappears.

At Værøy, not far from Røst, there once lived a poor fisherman called Isak. He owned nothing but a boat and a pair of goats which his wife kept alive by giving them scraps of fish and grass she managed to pluck from the mountains. Although his hut was always full of hungry children, he was grateful for what the Lord gave him. The only thing he complained about was that he had never managed to live in peace with his neighbour, a rich man who was convinced that his possessions should be better than those of a poor man like Isak, and who therefore wanted to get rid of him to get hold of the pasture next to his hut.

One day when Isak was out fishing, about two miles off the coast, a heavy fog suddenly fell and such a violent storm blew up that he had to throw all the fish he had caught into the sea to stop the boat from sinking. Skilfully negotiating the breakers that threatened to suck the boat down, he managed to keep afloat for five or six hours, until he thought he would soon see land. But as he sailed on the storm and the fog grew worse and worse. Then he started to think he was heading for the open sea or that the wind had changed; in the end he was sure of it, because he made progress without ever spying land. All at once he heard a terrible cry in front of the pro w. He thought it must be the spirit of the waters singing a funeral dirge for him. He commended his wife and children to the Lord, because he thought his last hour had come. As he prayed he vaguely descried something black ahead, and when he got nearer he made out three cormorants perched on a piece of wood. They were visible for a moment and then ... suddenly he had passed them. Things went on as before for quite a while, and he became so hungry, thirsty and tired that he was falling asleep at the rudder. Suddenly the boat was grounded on a sandy beach. Isak opened his eyes. The sun was peeping through the clouds, illuminating a marvellous landscape. The hills and mountains were covered with greenery; fields and meadows rose gently to the peaks and the scent of flowers and grass was the sweetest he had ever smelt.

"Thank God, I’m safe; this is Utrøst", murmured Isak. In front of him was a field of barley with ears taller than he had ever seen, and with a path leading up to a peat-covered hut. Munching on top of the hut was a white goat with golden horns and udders as big as a large cow’s: Outside, a little old chap, dressed in blue and with a long beard flowing halfway down his chest, was sitting on a chair smoking a pipe.

" Welcome to Utrøst", said the old fellow.

"God bless you", replied Isak, "So you know me?"

"Maybe. I expect you’d like to stay the night."

"It would be wonderful, my friend".

" Trouble is, my sons can’t stand the smell of a Christian. Didn’t you meet them?"

"No, I only saw three cormorants bobbing about on a bit of flotsam."

"Those were my sons", said the little fellow, knocking the tobacco out of his pipe,

"Go in for a bit. You must be hungry and thirsty. "

"Thanks very much, my friend", said Isak.

When the old fellow opened the door of the hut, Isak was dazzled. He had never seen such splendour. The table was loaded with the most delicious food, yoghurt , fish soup, roast venison, liver paté, syrup and cheese, piles of ring-shaped Bergen cakes, brandy, beer and mead, and everything nice you can think of Isak ate and drank as much as he could, but his plate was never empty and his glass was always full. However, his host did not eat much or say much. As they lingered after their meal, they heard a great rumpus outside. The little fellow went out, and came back with his sons. Isak nervously mumbled a greeting as they crossed the threshold, but their father must have calmed them down, because they were quiet and good humoured. Isak got up, saying he had finished his meal, but they invited him to sit down again and have a drink with them. He did as they asked, and they all quaffed one glass of mead, beer and brandy after another. Having made friends, the brothers asked him to go fishing with them a couple of times so that he would have something to take home.

The first time they went there was a terrible storm. One of the brothers sat by the rudder, another in the pro w, and the third by the halyard. Isak busied himself with the baling pan until the sweat poured off his brow. They sailed like mad, never furling the sail; when the boat was full of water they brought her round with her stern to the wind, so that they could pour the water out of the glass-bottomed bucket they kept there to search for octopus on the seabed. After a while the storm died down, and they started fishing. There was such a lot of fish they could never get their sinkers down to the bottom. The brothers caught masses. Isak had brought his own tackle, and occasionally hooked a fine fish but it got away every time. When the boat was full they went back to Utrøst and the brothers gutted the fish and laid them out to dry. Isak complained that he had not caught anything and his host promised that next time he would do better and gave him a pair of fishing-lines. When they went fishing again Isak caught as much as the three brothers and filled three dryers with his own fish when they got back.

Eventually he got home-sick and decided to leave. When he left his host gave him flour and sailcloth and lots of other useful things. Isak thanked him profusely and his host asked him to come back for the launching of a new boat; afterwards Isak could go with him to Bergen to sell his fish. Isak accepted the invitation and asked how he could find his way back to Utrøst. "Follow the cormorant when it flies out to sea, and you’ll be on the right course", the old fellow replied. "Have a good trip". Isak set sail and looked back, but saw nothing but sea for miles around .

When the time came, Isak left home and went to the launching ceremony. He had never seen such a boat: it was "two shouts long", which meant that when the captain, who was on the look-out by the bowsprit, had to give an order to the man at the rudder, he could not make himself heard, however hard he yelled, so another man halfway down the boat, near the main mast, relayed his orders at the top of his voice. They put Isak’s fish on the dryer in the pro w, but he was amazed to see that when he took the fish off it, there was always plenty left, and when he left the dryer was as full as it had been when he arrived. When he got to Bergen he sold his fish and got so much money for it that he bought a new boat, fully fitted out, with the cargo and everything else he needed, as the little old fellow had advised him to do. Late in the evening, before he set off for home, his friend came on board and asked him not to be unkind to the children of his neighbour, who had died. He predicted he would have good luck with the boat. "Everything is in order, and everything upright will stay that way", he said, by which he meant that there was someone invisible on board, who would lean against the mainmast to prop it up when necessary.

From that moment Isak always had fortune on his side. He knew where it came from, and when he beached his boat in the autumn he never forgot to put something nice aside for the invisible winter guard, and every Christmas Eve bright lights shone from the boat, violins and music and laughter could be heard, and there was dancing in the cabin.

I love that story, it is today enterprited as a story of the land of the dead and such. It is a very deep story, but it is a great story, best read several times in order to understand all the angles it presents.

It is said by the way that only the blessed can see Utrøst, so I guess we are all blessed because I will show it to you..

So... a magical land off the coast of Norway where the dead resides. This story is much alike the stories from all over the world, from Greece and China and from the ancient cultures of America. The island that sank..

Could there possibly be any truth to these stories? What is special about the stories from Norway is that here, the stories are actually very spesific about the locations.

To understand, one must first know what Røst is. Røst, is a mythical island on the outermost tip of the Lofoten cluster of islands in north Norway. It remains one of the places where the oldest evidence of settlements is found in Scandinavia, and also the place where the most religiously linked sites has been found. An amazing amount of ancient sites liked to sun worshipping is found on these islands. It is also the medium of the coastal culture, around these islands is the largest spawning grounds in the Atlantic ocean. The marine habitat around the Lofoten islands is said to be the second most life rich ecosystem on earth. It is also known to be a magnetical hotspot.

There are many folk stories from Lofoten, if one wants to understand world history it is here that one learns all the things we dont learn at school. Ancient stories are here told by the old fishermen still today.

Ok from the world of myth and magic to the modern world, could these old stories possibly have any truth to them?

I linked to a news story about landslides in middle Norway, what does that have to do with anything you may wonder. Well it turns out these landslides has been happening for thousands of years. It also turns out that there has been some gigantic landslides in the area. Landslides big enough to take out entire districts worth of land.
Two major events at least, one approx 30-50k years ago, and another approx 6-8k years ago.

One of the World's largest known submarine slides is found in the Storegga area off the coast of Mid-Norway. The slide area has been investigated by seismic profiling, seabed sampling and long-range (Gloria) and medium-range side-scan sonars. The 290 km long headwall is located at the shelf edge 100 km off the coast. The slide extends down the continental slope and into the abyssal plain to a distance of more than 800 km. The maximum thickness is 450 m and a total of about 5600 km$^{3}$ of sediment was involved in the sliding. Three main slide events are distinguished. The First Storegga Slide was the largest (about 3880 km$^{3}$) and probably was formed 30 000-50 000 years BP. The two other events seem to have occurred in near succession about 6000-8000 years BP. The Second Slide, which consisted of more consolidated sediments than the First Slide, cut back 6-8 km headwards beyond the First Slide and removed some 450 km$^{2}$ of the continental shelf edge. It involved large blocks (olistoliths) of sediments that can be recognized in hummocky slide deposits both within the slide scar and on the abyssal plain. Two huge sediment slabs, 150-200 m thick and up to 10 $\times $ 30 km wide

So what do you know, turns out the stories are true after all doesnt it? A series of massive landslides took out the entire middle coastline of Norway. Trondheim to Lofoten sank in the ocean..

Megatsunamis swept across the entire north Atlantic basin. It was one hell of a tsunami, if there was an Atlantis off the coast of gibraltar. It may very well have perished during this event. It was one of the largest tsunamis that we know of.

.. England was created during these events, less then 50 thousand years ago.

Let us try to imagine then what Scandinavia could have looked like before these events...here is just a off my head imagined drawing of what areas may have been lost during these events. It looks to me that the coastline may have been a perfect semicircle shape at some point.

Very interesting :D ... We see the contours of hyperborea...

I said this is just a story that i am telling you ;)

We see that we are living the story still, writing the epics.. dream, reality?

The slides on the coast of Norway still continues today, at some point in time maybe the ocean takes another piece off the middle.. who knows. Maybe there is even a connection between the landslides in Norway in 2009 and the volcano eruptions on iceland this year..

Anyway, learning about the BC world, is very important this day in age when we are fed monoculture and learn very little about events in our local areas...

Nothing I write in this thread is however actually "true" in the scientific sense, as in I use my imagination alot to guide me. My only goal is to spark some imagination in people, to take you with me into my over imaginative head. I also would like to continue the oral traditions of telling the stories from here, they should not be forgotten.

But in my story, there was loads of cannabis on the BC Scandinavian island :D

By the way, the weather is horrible at the moment, like 5-6 degrees daytime and dipping almost down to freezing in the night.

Also there has been some problems with the seeds i sowed.. half of the damn things didnt come out of the soil.

I dont know whether it is the sowing method, i put them all directly into soil. I think ive killed al my annapurnas, one or two of the nirvana sky seems to have made it and two or three of the number ones.

they are growing real slowly, im not sure what is causing it, it may be wrong ph in the soil. I will let them dry out alittle bit before i water again and i think i will use paper towel method for popping the last beans.

Im halfway panicked about this now.

Im getting awfully late for sowing now, ive got to show the house again on tuesday, the landlord is getting the house prized so i have to let a guy in who is going to put a prize on the house.

That means i cant put a growlamp up until after they have been here.

I think ill wait with popping more beans until after they have been here, i can put the ones ive popped outside when they are here, they are still so small noone can tell what it is.

Cant wait to get that shit out of the way, my car is going in for road control on wednesday, hopefully ill be back on the road soon. Sofar ive relied on borrowing a car to go look for spots, i need to get out and do more work. Its going to be much easier when i dont have to borrow a car to get around to all the spots and do the last of the work.

As i said, we had snow in the air yesterday, so ill not be planting out until after the middle of the month. Very strange weather this season, no snow until febuary, and then a very warm may and now snow in june. Its very shifty weather here, im thinking ill make some sort of shelter for my most sensitive and slowest strains.

Last year we also had a very shitty june, but a very nice july and warm august and september. Ill hope we have similar conditions this year and that the weather turns on the next moonphase which is june 12th..

peace all..

the weather is still horrible...

ive had to take all the equipment down and pack it away, ive got to move somewhere else. Not because of anything ive done, im not in any type of trouble just so you know. I keep a low key and a pretty good relationship to those around me.

Ive had the landlord and her minions rampage through the house on a couple of occasions the past few weeks which has lead to some rather awkward but funny episodes.

I had a room full of grow in the house up until the day before they came to visit me the first time. She brought a prospected grower. I was asked very politely alittle over a week in advance if i would please let them in so they could look at the house.
They are very polite people, ive never had problems with them intruding on my private life, on the contrary they have been perfect landlords for 3 years. I try to maintain a certain facade myself, i think i come off as a polite and pretty ordinary young man to these people. I think to them, one week sounded like a reasonable time for me to get the place cleaned up. It was just some friends of theirs who wanted to see the house so it was not like it was going to be one of those open house events.

Since they have been so good to me, i didnt want to blow my facade and ruin the good relationship with them. Ive got a descend amount of money on a locked security account that i will get back if no damage is done to the house and all is well. So I didnt want to deny them the chance to sell the house, for one thing it would be a completely selfish thing for me to do, another thing is that a pissed off annoyed landlord could be looking to pick at petty things in order to get some of that security cash. It could be ridiculous things that they could charge me for.

Anyway, after some days i called them and asked nicely if we could delay the visit for a week extra so i could get rid of some trash i said i had stored in the house because my car isnt working still and things takes time for that reason. I delivered it at a shop for a roadcheck yesterday btw. Truth was that my harvest was three weeks away on the time of the first phonecall where i was asked whether they could come in a little over a week. This extra week was granted me without suspicion and argument. I still had to cut the harvest a week short. Whatever reason they may have had, I wasnt going to ruin that harvest alltogether. This extra week would give me time to give the plants a descent flush and that extra week would prove to be vital for saving the product in the end.

I am now sampling the stash, and even tho its not fully ripe to my taste, its well flushed and has a nice flavor and an "uppety" high. Some of my trained test monkeys has assured me that the quality of the stash is pleasing. Normally i let my stash mature until the point where smoking it will leave you staring blankly into the air for hours and standing up for whatever reason seems like an equal challenge as crossing the north pole on foot. To me this week i chopped off the program is detectable, to others it seems like its not as detectable.

So a week passed, i still had a full harvest to chop and manicure, two rooms that had been in service for some time to pack away and clean out thoroughly. In addition to a whole house, two floors plus a basement to chemically clean out for all signs of what had been going on. Everything had to be spotless, every nook and corner of the house had to be free from bits and pieces of dry leaves and such. All indoor growers know how easily those leaves get around the house once they are dry. One steps on them in the growroom and drags soil and little dry crusty pieces of old leaves around the house and it ends up everywhere in the house.

My main problem at this point was that I had to keep the rooms running for as long as possible, preferably until the very night before the visit in order to maximize the potency. I already knew it was not going to be class A stash since a week had to be cut off the program. I increased the number of nighthours.
Another major problem was and still is that i had a massive outdoor grow planned, for this i was to need a vegging room as the unstabile weather does not still allow for planting out.

I planted 100 seeds, placed 30 of them in the trust of a friend, the remaining 70 i sowed at home. The stress or whatever, lack of concentration lead to that I have killed about half of the seeds planted, i have about 60 left. Ill get back to that, its a story all in itself.

Where was i in the story. Oh yes, blabla.. lots of stuff happens that i cant talk about :D And then its the day before the visit, the room has to come down, im crying inside because i know another week would make it perfect. But im happy aswell because i can see that ive saved it. A room of yellow and red plants smile at me and the scent from several dozen hybrid phenotypes of different crosses ive made stinks up the air something severely. I didnt have the heart to take down early two seeded romulan/diesel/lowryder mothers which were seeded late in flowering and required another 2-3 weeks plus three clones from my purple Sisu phenotype which also required another 3-4 weeks preferably. A friend of mine was chosen as the victim and i drove a tent, a 250w lamp and a fan to this individual. In a heartbeat a new grower bas born, i brought my romulan/diesel/lr mothers and my 3 Sisu clones over and tossed them in the hastily arranged tent setup. I gave instructions, and the normal load of warnings, threats and promises of rewards in the hands of my friend and went back to the business of cleaning the house and dealing with the rest of the harvest which still had to be dried.

The two upper floors was cleaned, or most of them the day before the showing which was to take place at 6 in the evening. This was no small job alone and left me exhausted. The next day i was up early to clean the rest of the house and cut down the harvest. Just 6 hours before prospected buyers were coming to see the house, there was still a room full of very stinky (barely) harvest ready smoke in it. At this point, i realized that i was playing with faith by not having the heart to cut them down the day before. I really really hate to cut down my harvest early, im pretty hardcore about that.. ill rather not smoke at all or get by with smoking old trim or whatever while waiting for my stash to reach perfection. Im sloppy with some things, but im a perfectionist when it comes to my grows. So I left that harvest until the absolutely latest point that i could, not an hour before i had to was it cut. Anyway, its only a little over 6 hours until people are coming to see the house and im just starting to cut down the stash. A pretty descent load, i never reveal exactly how big my harvests are, but it was a room full .. 1500watts worth.

6 hours.. loads to do still, get the harvest out of the house, dispatch of the used soil and get the pots and all the equipment packed away. I thanked my lucky star (the north star ;)) that i wasnt doing a hydro grow at the moment and that i had given away and borrowed away most of my hydro gear. I realized how smart i had been by keeping the amount of equipment in the house to an absolute minimum. I had taken precaution against this type of event, i had thought about what i would do if i had to dismantle the grow in a short amount of time.

My trained hands worked like a machine when picking off the fanleaves on the plants, they were plucked like chickens in record time while still in their pots..in less then one hour, several dozen plants got manicured, chopped at the branches and packed into a big cardboard box that i had filled with torn newspaper bits in the bottom in order to provide some airspace in the box..

This room and the neighboring room which had been harvested two weeks earlier but not cleaned out now both had wall to wall floorcoverage of fanleaves and a descent amount of used pots with soil still standing in them. That and ventilation and lights still had to come down, I had covered the floors with plastic and the walls with mylar.. The whole thing had to be cleaned out, every nook of the basement... And it was very dirty.. soil and shit everywhere.. One room with sement floor and a drain in it, the other had wooden floors with a small gap in between the planks where soil had gotten stuck. The room with the wood floors had been covered with plastic after i realized that alot of soil got stuck in between the planks.

Little details like this had to be sorted out also, i had to vacuum and clean out these rooms thoroughly and i had to fill them with stuff to make them look used as storage rooms. And i had to pack all the equipment into black plastic bags so that the content of them wouldnt be revealed.
I dont want to say how many plastic pots it turned out that i had, ive given away a shitload of them now, but i had two shitloads of plastic pots atleast. I realized that i have to be more mindful about the amount of pots i have in the house. Its not that i use so horribly many, but ive bought new sets and i have bought sets especially suited for certain strains. So they have kind of assembled.

It was an awful stress to get this sorted.. a friend was called over to dispatch of the used soil, as i said my car has been out of service for a while. I havent really needed it as ive buzzed around in my own world out here in the arctic countryside the last few years, working only sporadically when the flow of money has been short, which it hasnt recently because ive been living so cheap out here in the countryside :D Its not been hard to proquire a ride for whatever reason i may have needed, it its not hard to get a hold of anything when one has class A stash tbh.. People are happy to drop by for a visit hehe.. Not that i run a business on this btw, because i dont! I just dont have any debts and i live cheap and easy.

Around 4 i decided to get the stash out of the house, i have a steep hill behind the house, so steep one has to almost climb it to get up it. I took the big box and snook up the hill, careful that the passing traffic and the neighbors didnt see me with a big box up in the hillside. On the way up there i stepped in a hole full of sharp rocks and scraped the skin off the shin on the front of my leg all the way from the ancle to the knee. Luckily im an old football (soccer) player so ive taken such an amount of kicks to the shin that its practically indestructable now because shinprotectors were thought of as pussywear in my days. It hurt like a bitch in any case, i could feel the blood rush from my face and i felt like i wanted to puke. It hurt so badly that i got dizzy. The face went pale (paler), i started to sweat and shit... i had a good old classic "whitey". Once the foot was out of the hole, I had to sit down for a while, while gathering myself i was pondering the ridiculousness of the situation.. up in a hillside in the arctic.. stressed as fuck and halfway passed out with a huge box of weed and a bloody wound on my leg.

I knew as soon as i got the foot out of the hole that it was just a flesh wound, I had scraped the front of the shin bone against a rock as the foot had slid into the deep hole. The whole foot had gone into the hole. i thanked my lucky star again that the foot was ok.. if i had broken my leg up there, that could have been some shit to deal with as the house was not fully cleaned out yet. Little things were still visible around the house.

Goddamn it, 2 hours until deadline and i had barely eaten all day, i was dripping wet after having a sweat attack from the pain, my pants was stuck to my leg because of the blood and im way up in the hill. Luckily the pants had prevented the rock from scraping against my bare skin so the wound was not dirty, nor was it very deep, but a long thin strip of skin had been taken off down the front of the shin. A descent knock to the shin hurts like a MF, let me tell you, all footballers knows that.

I was royally pissed off, and none the less stressed out. I could feel the pain had drained me from energy and that was likely what caused me to have the "whitey". Food first, then a shower, then i had to tie up all the loose ends. Get that last bit of dirt in between the planks in the growroom sorted for example, and make sure no equiment had been forgotten. I also had some space upstairs to finish. Food first, got my blood sugars up, but the stinging pain from the soap in my fresh leg wound did not make me any less pissed off.

Im barely out of the shower when its an hour until deadline, still as i said bits and pieces has to be sorted out, there is still little shit to reveal there has been shit going on in the growrooms. Like hooks in the roof and little pieces of the wall plastic still stuck on nails and some tape here and there plus the soil that is in every corner it could get in. And i had to put some stuff in there to make it look like it had been used the past 3 years.

The last hour was like a cartoon, im running around like a headless chicken.. like a madman of sorts. Im literally wiping the last bit of dirt of the last surface as i hear the prospected buyers arrives with the landlord.
A whole herd of people, from kids to grandparents fall through the door and i welcome them to a spotless house with a big smile that hides all the stress and the pain in my leg and how pissed off i really am that ive been put through all this shit.

I put on my best behavior while they were here, freshly showered and smelling of roses, both I and the newly washed house reveal nothing of our secret endevours. Upon departure, the landlord complements me on the clean house and thanks me generously for the hospitality.
2 weeks of stress was over in half an hour. All had gone extremely well, I had saved my harvest and the landlords had gotten to show the house from a good side. After they left, silence yet returned to what has for the last 3 years been my quiet little haven. Its incredibly peaceful and scenic here. I was relieved that my hobby had not prevented the landlords from selling the house, i consider myself a descent guy, i would never want to damage other peoples property nor to cause them any type of grievance because of what i do. I would not want to stand in the way of those nice people getting this house sold. Id rather want to show my appreciation for the hospitality and help them get it sold.

After they had left, i was very relieved. I went in the car and got my huge jar bong and smoked myself a number of hits. After which i climbed the hill again to retrieve my box in order to hang the stash to dry, being careful not to step in another hole this time.

Thinking that i had another month and a half on me atleast until next visit from them, i then sowed about 70 seeds ment for outdoor planting. These were barely out of soil, 3or 4 days later, when i got another call from the landlord asking if they please could come visit again. This time with a guy who was going to put a price on the house for the prospected buyers. This visit was to take place the following tuesday. Which was this Tuesday, 2 days ago. And this guy was a very busy guy so he only had time to do it this tuesday.

Ohno i thought inside me, i still had the harvest hanging to dry, i was planning on slowdrying it since it had been cut early, "yes that will be fine" i muttered in the telephone while gazing over at my newly popped outdoor seeds.

Damnit .. this was not good, i was late with the sowing for the outdoor season already, i wanted to pop another 30 seeds but it was no point since i could not put any lights up until this week after the price guy had been here. And i would have to bring the plants outside or take them to a friends house while they were here. I already had 30 newborn ones standing that really were starting to get ready for descent light now.

A remarkably similar chain of events to the ones last week then took place this week. I had a huge harvest hanging to dry, which i wanted to dry as slowly as possible and leave as long on the drying racks as possible. It was also just hours upon arrival of the visitors dry enough to put into jars and store. This time fortunately, the dry stash stinks less then it did when it was wet the week earlier so i locked the jars in the trunk of my car.

This was two days ago, yesterday i went into town with my car to get it roadchecked, i suspect i may have to do some work on it in order to get it on the road. I am going to put the lights up for the babies today and sow some new ones aswell. These visits has delayed the outdoor project, im late with sowing because of this.

But im also glad that they came at this time and not later or earlier, it could have been a total disaster, i could have had to abandon it all. So all in all, im just glad that its gone so well, im looking forward to finding a new place to live. Hopefully it will be nicer then here, this property does not get much sun, ill be looking for a sunnier property.

.. wishing everyone a stress free day ;)

He he he. I can't help it, I'm sitting here with a smile on my face after reading this. I feel with you, but it's just that I recognize the feelings and situations myself.

Also you were talking about how stressless your life was a couple of months ago remember. You had aaallll the time in the world..... Life came around and bit you in the arse my dear friend. he he.

This double life with growing makes for comedy sometimes.... I have a pretty big scar on my arm myself after hurrying down the tree because i thought I heard something. Which was nothing but king ganja playing with my head.....

It's very warm and sunny down here. Hope you'll get a good season. Keep us updated, this late start of yours makes it more exciting I think.

Peace m8.

hehehehe, yes indeed it bit me in the ass.. even worse is that the car seems like its beyond repair. They found an oil leak on the engine, and its just not worth repairing such a damage on such an old and cheap car as that one unless one of my friends can do some magic. Im no wiz with engines myself, i can do simple repairs, but when it comes to the engine ive got to throw in the towel. Ive been contemplating buying a new car... not a new car, but a new old car :D hehehe

Usually tho, ive got my grows pretty well planned out, i did this time aswell. The problem this time occured because of the unannounced inspections in the house and the planned sale of it. I have set my lamp up today tho, hopefully that will make them grow faster.

lol yeh, luckily im not one of the paranoid types usually. I keep a pretty cool head about it ... or atleast thats what i think myself.
I was paranoid about it for a long time, but after i started going to Amsterdam i guess it normalized a bit. I saw all those other people with their free and open attitude towards smoking and it was very liberating for me. Ive taken abit of that Amsterdam vibe with me i guess... not too much of it tho .. hehe

I think the paranoia causes us to do silly things sometimes which often leads us into exactly the type of trouble we were trying to avoid.

Its said that without roots, a plant cannot grow to the sky. I guess that goes for us humans as well. Its important to know the start of the legacy that we write.

The things ive come to understand regarding our legacy has blown my mind, ive grown up with the conviction that this world we live in is much the same as it has been always and that its intended to stay this way. Ive luckily come to understand that the world is not like that at all, its changed tremendously in pretty recent history and it continues to do so as well.

Its been warmer and cooler then it is now many many times just within the last 100000 years, this has lead to migrations in and out of the polar areas. At any time the earth has been warm, the polar areas has been super productive. Many life forms and cultures that we have not considered could have originated in the polar areas may actually have done so. Many systems, human and natural has migrated in and out of the area and to this day still continues to do so.

There is something wrong with the way we measure time. Yesterday and tomorrow is but like roots and leaves on the tree that is now.

Ok after a talk with my old man, who knows cars and engines better then most people, ive decided to junk that old car. It just isnt going to be worth it to do any work on it compared to just buying another allready roadworthy car. Ive found one that seems good value for money, im sitting here wondering whether i should go get it tomorrow. Its in a "neighboring town", about 5 hours drive from here. Which is a short distance up here actually to be honest..

Im thinking, the salmon rivers open in 2 days, on the 15th of june. One of the best rivers in the country is on the stretch between where that car is and here. Im thinking i could go get the car and stop on the way home and catch the opening day in the river and also go check out some spots in that area where that river is, ive been planning to put some plants in that area but i havent been able to get there yet. Ive got some other spots ready some other places tho.

Yeh.. think thats what ill do.. Once im on wheels, everything should start moving much more rapidly. Ive got to find a new place preferably by july 1st.. I can stay here until aug 1st i think but id rather find a place asap.
