What is the top performing fiber european variety strain ??

One great thing about this growing naturally at 42º latitude over 70+ years is survival traits acclimation with our environment ( near wisconsin - who never had its own acclimated strains ).

And the seeding. Found these mid september already finished with thousands of black seeds and many more green still maturing. The northern climates, cow pastures are prime growing spots that allow field retting unlike kentucky... northern edges of the corn belt.

What is the average height achieved by modern european fiber strains / uniform ? This would speak toward future yield per acre / hectare assumptions and goals.

...
Hungarian ones are very high in fibre content and also pretty tall. But if the climate doesn't match the variety, then the best genes won't help. There is no "best" but with some luck a "best for this and that".
As it seems, there have been a few new additions to the EU approved varieties the last 1-2 years.

Depends which country you're referring to ;) . Europe may look small on the maps especially if compared to the USA but we too have different climate zones and hence different preferred varieties. In Central Europe the most often grown ones are only 2-3 meters tall, may be used for fibre or seed depending on sowing density, and are fairly often monoecious e.g. very uniform and simultaneously ripening.
Italy and Spain have their own 2-3 traditional varieties which are better for fibres than seeds and wouldn't finish in a more northern climate whereas Eastern Europe has often tall and late maturing varieties influenced by a broad set of ex-USSR/Ukraine genetics.

See Dewey strains achieved " x-tra " yield by the height of the fiber strains.

Thats also part of the " Quality " tag used when describing his lines.

Yield per square meter .....

As most fiber strains grown tightly its the only option when looking for improved production and yield.

After all these years no breeders in Europe have matched Dewey's consistency ? I guess this arena does need an influx of new genetics if thats the case, indeed.

And a real problem for southern growers with fiber lines is having moist / cold months in the last part of the season for proper retting ( if done outdoors ). But having a processing plant for retting this large of quantity means the field retting would still be needed ...

Warm weather can / will destroy an entire crop.

So europe has it's own environmental challenges / needs.

The latest varieties here in Europe are fast retting ones. Some of these are yellow stemmed ;) . Another one has been irradiated with radioactive cobalt and has webbed leaves though the main goal was reduction in cannabinoids (this attempt failed, unlike Red Petiole where it worked).

I look forward to helping the USA farmers w/- Illinois, Wisconsin & Indiana max out its potential with hemp production in the future.

This forum kind of dated regarding process of uploading pictures ( not sure if being new limits my options like sending p.m. )

I'll have lots of pictures next spring. We will do an open pollination with 2,000 plants securing the line, seeds saved from the tallest plant have been segregated.

Following this process going into the following year we will start testing males as they are growing for fiber quality quickening the process of advancement ( unlike dioecious bottlenecking )

The EIHA back in 1998 was already worried about the genetic pool.

Just leaving for another scouting trip into central Illinois this a.m. then onto Wisconsin this weekend. That should wrap up the searching until next season.

This will be a long process working toward ( PVP ) plant variety protection / patents and developing stable hybrids with these genetics. These genetics will never be sold pure.

I operate a Ranch in Colorado. I am Colorado Department of Agriculture regulated and inspected. I grew out 28,000 cherry blossom ladies this year in 4 acres. Will be going up in acreage to 7 Acres. Thx came back in at .13. I am currently working a strain I developed and grew out this season. Tested at 19.8% CBD and .19 thc well within limits

19.8 / .19 = 104:1 ratio. Sounds like you have something really really special...like impossibly special.
