Hungarian ones are very high in fibre content and also pretty tall. But if the climate doesn't match the variety, then the best genes won't help. There is no "best" but with some luck a "best for this and that".What is the top performing fiber european variety??
...
Depends which country you're referring to . Europe may look small on the maps especially if compared to the USA but we too have different climate zones and hence different preferred varieties. In Central Europe the most often grown ones are only 2-3 meters tall, may be used for fibre or seed depending on sowing density, and are fairly often monoecious e.g. very uniform and simultaneously ripening. What is the average height achieved by modern european fiber strains / uniform ? This would speak toward future yield per acre / hectare assumptions and goals.
>3.5 meters but usually far from 6 meters. There's no point in growing taller simply because of lacking combs and other equipment.Whats " pretty tall " ... ? 9-10ft or 15-18ft ?
I charge $5000 per lb which is approximately 30,000 seeds per lb
