Cool so 100% coco Bonecarver?

I love the Nutrifield brand. It is pre-buffered for cal/mag and has trichoderma added. Or is this in all coco naturally and just a marketing thing??

Anyway it is by far the best brick type which is very economical @ $25 per 55 litres and hydrates real quick. Having said that it is cheaper for me to grab a ute load of compost from the tip which does need a good screen...

But indoors i go mostly coco for now.

I can only assume that they print wet and dry ratios to show what will be available if you transplant into dry coco. We all know that coco cannot bind the nutes when it's dry. That's why you never let it dry out while growing in it.

i like my first coco run but im still leaning back towards an active hydro system. blumats and hydro is rediculously hard to beat though. the sheer ease of operation almost outweighs the benefits of active hydro setups. i went camping, and out of town a couple times without fear and when i got back my bitches were happy and healthy.

I've been keeping this coco thing simple as it can be.

I'm using Canna A and B, nothing else so far. Watering Ph is 6. Water is tap water and I let it sit about 24 hours before use...
Bio Nova coco coir...
Like you can see only new fresh leaves are affected.
Plant is about 4-5 weeks old Shiva x Black Domina from seed.

So what is the problem and what's should I do to solve this.
Flush with the ph adjusted water perhaps?

Thanks already!

Bio Nova's coco coir isn't good quality out of the bag. It needs to be rinsed before use. Hope that is not a fungus.

First thing to do is to flush it properly. If your coco handles i.ex. 2dl water - pour 2l through it and let it run to waste. This "resets" your coco. If you have a problem: Flush with nutrient solution - takes care all of your problems.

I feed currently 24-26ml Canna Coco A&B (10L) + 2-4ml Liquid Silicon (grab some of that) + a dollop of Liquid Oxygen (grab that too) + 3ml Bio Nova enzymes (get some enzymes too for coco) and pk 13/14 (after 4weeks of flowering) if needed. A Lot of ppl are using cal-mag but since it isn't available in here i don't use it and haven't had the need of buying it abroad. Hit me a pm if this doesn't help you.

Looks like a bit of nute burn. I would flush with a very light ph'd nute solution...then feed half strength for a bit. If you are using tap water...and you are feeding full strength as per directions on the bottle...your ec is probably pretty high.

Most nute directions are based on ro water. The more nutes you use....the more they sell.

Thanks for the info prowler and Lowman  ...yes I rinsed my coco coir before use.

It sure looks like nute burn but I have used only half strength solutions so far. Sensitive strain?
So, is it best to flush with the mild nute water now and wait to see what happens?

prowler: Liquid Silicon and Liquid Oxygen? Where I can find those here? Link would be nice :) enzymes are on my shopping list already....

New growing medium, new tricks...

PM'd you m8.

If your plants are burning with half strength Canna Coco i think you'd better flush it again - and again if needed. It might still be your Bio Nova Brick. In the future i really suggest to use coco from puutarhurinversas. Even better than Cannas (which is much better than Nova's). I've had my trouble with Bio Novas bricks but after one run it gets better.

EDIT: You can still reduce the EC if you want when flushing if you seriously think that it is the nutrient solution which is burning the plant.

Hey all,

I am on day 15 from seed in my first run in coco. The other day I noticed some brown spots developing on the first serrated leaves. I have pics but it won't let me up load them from my phone.

Any ideas?

Thanks
