New to coco

Hey guys, firstly awsome thread, just what i needed, so much information, THANKS.
This is my first time growing with coco, im usin coco plus pro and nutes designed for coco, i am hand watering/feeding at full strengh every day, this is as directed on the bottle 6ml per ltr, i do make sure i get run off each time i feed, and flush with water twice a week, im growing in 11ltr pots in a greenhouse and intend taking clones to flower under lights. So far no probs, a few questions..

the nutes im using for bloom are vitalink coco coir bloom 2.5/2.0/2.3 does this seem ok?

can i mix coco with a good organic live soil?

am i feeding too much? (i was feeding every other day and things were slow) My plants are superskunk and white diesel feminised. pics to follow

if i veg in coco can i flower them in soil and vice versa?

Thanks in advance for any feedback guys.

those nutes might work fine :D give it a try :D

DONT mix SOIL!!

i think 50% recomended dosage is a sure bet with most brands. try lesser nute doses and see if they like it better! :D

yes you can veg in coco and flower in soil - but flowering with coco gives better results but might be more costy.

Thanks for the help, i will try 3ml per ltr and see how they respond.

Hi everyone, I have been using coco for almost a year and everything has been realy nice, but this run I was a little lazy and didn't transplant the plants to bigger pots. They are in 8 litre pots and two weeks in flowering stage. I am watering them twice a day and they look healthy. Do you think the smaller pots will give me less bud? I am a little worried about this. They are two feet tall and quite bushy. I want to know what I should expect of the harvest. Also this time I am using Canna and I would like to know how you use PK 13/14 with Canna. I have never used this stuff but somewhere I read that with Canna ferts you should add some PK. Thanks... Lupin

PK 13-14 is most effective to give in the moment the plants are developing small clusters of flowers - like a finger-tip or a little bit more.

i rarelly give full dose of PK since its strong stuff :D

you can still transplant.. if you are worried about having to water several times a day by hand.

Hey guys
I've got a question and was wondering how you would go about doing this.
1. I can't water multiple times a day, once a day max
2. Grow Pots are 8"inch 0.80 gallon
3. Mix Bucket is 2 Gallons
4. Using Canna A&B and PK13/14
5. Genetics are sativa based being LST'd

In a small scale Rubbermaid grow, how would you guys go about watering and feeding?

I was thinking about watering every day with 25% Nutrient power or 50% on odd days, 0% on even days but from what i was reading the plants may react badly to that.

If I were to feed every day at 25%, should I throw in an extra bit of water every 3 days for a flush of 5-10% to rid buildup?

Thanks in advanced, sorry if this has been discussed over before.

in such small pots i think your best bet is frequent excessive waterings. lots of flush in other words. flushing every watering is the best!

try constant 50% doses and see how it goes. dont ad PK to sativa dominant plants untill they are WELL into flowering..

peace!

Thanks bonecarver, you rock man! K+ for the reply

So if I understand you correctly, I should water daily with Canna A&B at 50% the recommended dosage, but make sure that when I water 300ml,about 100-200ml should come out the bottom.

If that is correct, don't reply , but if I'm wrong and need to flush with straight water after the feeding let me know and I promise it's the last Q I've got for you!

Thanks again Bone!

hi all been useing coco for a while now and loveing it odly first run was with organics then i went with hydro nutrients and started to use SUBSTRA by canna with excelent resolts can take pics if you like and nothing else useing basicly 90% coco.

I did infact get a nutrient that is for coco and other hydro methods but havent used it as yet as i sed i found the canna SUBSTRA so far real good.

genetic heirloom - its just one of multiple methods :D i for example never water each day.. its allways a every two day thing here :D

1/3 - 1/4 of flush is good depending on size etc

how is the canna substra? pre-mixed dry nutes in coco?

peace!

quick q for you, bone...
how often do you give your girls pk 13/14?
i have been using it for only weeks 3 & 6 ( @ 2ml & 4ml hahaha so low!), but i am thinking about giving it weeks 3 thru 6 ( @ 2ml, 3ml, 4ml, 3ml)... and of course 'stacking' with BOOST
curious to your experience & dosages.... thanks

bonecarver_OG

i never give more than 50% doses. i dont give PK untill 4 weeks or more into 12/12. i give less the first goes and increase slightly afterwards :D
and cannaboost i think is not really too impressive for the money.

peace!

Lo folks

Finally tore down my hydro setups and moved on to coconut and have to say that IMHO it's the funniest, easiest and most interesting method of growing. This topic rocks!

After crawling this (and few other) topic(s) a couple of questions remained unanswered so here goes:

1. I have constructed passive hydros from 10 L buckets with 1.1 L buckets inside containing coco and a bubbler airing the water in bigger buckets. So it's kind of mix between pure coco and old school bubbler. Should i stay completely on coco nutes or handfeed coconutes and keep hydronutes in the bubbler? I mean is it okay to have coconutes inna di bubbler or am i demanding for troubles?
I am currently using bionova A+B and considering on giving them a little bit of AHH Bloom in flowering if needed + TopMax and maybe the missing link when i can afford it...Has anyone used GHE Diamond Nectar with coco?

2. How long/tall would you vegetate clones in 1.1L pots without the need of transplanting them to bigger pots (discarding the 10 L bubblerbuckets!)?

I'm trying to setup a system which has 6 buckets in constant flowering so that when two of them are ready i'll have two pre-vegetated clones ready to step in. I guess i'll learn the cycles as i go but if you have any suggestions please fill me in. I would apperciate it very much!

I.ex. if the 1.1L buckets are going to be too small and bubbler isn't working as planned I have already scouted bigger pots but bigger pots = more coconut = bigger mess :YaRight: and that was the main reason I changed from hydro to coconut. I F***ING HATE THOSE CLAY PEBBLES!

TY beforehand! And really one big thumb up for this topic.

Oh and one more thing. If someone has experimented on bucket sizes with coco it would be great to have somekind of directional rule of thumb thingiethingie lying around here somewhere to help people determine their needs for pot sizes.

[EDIT] Yeah right...running 600W hps in 130 x 55 cm room with LST method handwatering once in a day or two. [/EDIT]
