I had 25 people that year to trim it was insane. I was using a portion of the trim crew for take down. We also put 150 units through a twister because I couldn't hang dry any more...

I built lots of hoop houses to dry that year.

My auto dep is finished and now that I see how good it works I'm building 2 more and using the one I built as a veg room , 2 24 x 96 with 48k in each and a 24x48 to veg...BAM...Fuck full term its too much trouble. I'd rather bust 4 or 5 crops

The biggest problem I see with the auto black out units is the upkeep. There's lots of dirt and debris that clogs up those machines. Not sure it's worth it, all you guys that hire these crews, you can't get 2 guys to pull tarps everyday? The auto dep on 2 24x96, plus lights, plus heaters ext can run above 100k easy. How many years would it take to pay some dudes to pull black out tarps 100k? I guess you got to pay to play, and when things get legal you guys will be one step ahead.

Full term 24 x 96 you can pull 200 lbs easy. Say a blacked out or light added cycle is 100 lbs...less than a one grow payback...3 month payback. No brainer if you can afford the initial capital in my book.

I hear ya. However what about the upkeep. Buying a porshe is one thing, keeping it up is another. It aint cheap. That's if the technology even works with these black out systems. Light leaks, potential break downs, ext.

Sometimes I over think things.

Edit: What about plant numbers? We ignoring that because we are undercover and the coppers can't count plants? I thought that was the whole reason people grew large plants? My 32x48 greenhouse I estimate I can fill with 12 plants full season plants. However if I wanted a light dep season, I would need 3 times the plants. Extrapolate that out and your numbers get high real quick.

So...PM on bud is no bueno... I hadnt seen it in the garden since i had attacked it for a few weeks. The late september rains we had for a week must have brought it back on a few plants. I didnt notice it til i started to harvest it. Any tips on what to do with the PM infested stuff, besides trashing it... ? The buds are otherwise really nice.

could you make something like that worthwhile with a 24 plant limit? the logistics of keeping it cycling seems weird. maybe have the mom/veg/nursery at another location

or is it better to just grow 24 monsters 1x per year

we had some PM bad one plant, will probably bho it or trash it. A few others got PM but it wasn't too bad , and after drying it looks like it can all be trimmed off.

Maybe 2 light deps a season with 12 semi large plants (that would fill a greenhouse dep system) and 12 full season plants? This is what I mean when I was asking about plant numbers.

If the leading edge develops a light leak after you finished detailing you didn't wrench down the clips enough. Once it's sealed its sealed. There's only one moving part, the motor, the rest is just pulleys and cables... Really simple.

You can adjust some 10mm nuts and re tighten if you really need

I'd rather spend 100k on infrastructure than on someone's salary any season.

I have a quote right now for 2 30x120 full ventilation ridge vent roll up side auto blackout 100k for both , probably cost me 30 more to get them built.

In 2 24x96 I'd have 48 plants total and 48 in my 24x48 vegging do the next round.

Glad to have you understanding the logistics of the Light Dep. BYF. The July, August, Sept harvests are a better quality in almost every aspect to the Late Sept. Oct, November product.

Somewhere on here I read something like "Once a plant is root bound it's like pushing it uphill for a quality harvest".

I feel like after a certain date (somewhere around sept. 15th for my latitude/elevation) the same holds true.

I had to take a step backwards 4 years ago, going from full season to Light Dep. but in the long run it has been easily the right move.

Please remember though, you will be on a different schedule with your light Dep. For my early July harvest I have been taking Clones on the New Moon in January. That gives me the same age plant (7 months old at harvest) as your full season run, (March to October).

I don't do a good job with documentation, sorry my pics fall off around July (every year) when I'm crazy busy. But I can answer most Light Dep. questions if anyone has them.

My motto used to be "I'd rather have 40 in August then 80 in October".

In the last 2 years, I'm working on getting that 80 by the beginning of sept. And I'm small time right on my numbers.

We need to start a Light Dep. thread so we don't need to piggyback on this epic Thread.

Peace

its confusing to compare light dep to regular outdoor in that way .

Yo crew, anyone have any suggestion for at home cannabinoid testing? Or if there exists labs that will take samples from nonmedical states and can mail results?
