Ive only ever grown indoors & I have a quick question out of curiosity...

How do you outdoor growers get the plants to grow so incredibly big & bushy. is it just vegged through out the year until 12 hrs of sun cycle come into play or something else?

ILoveit -Sunlight Bro, just can't beat it.

And I had a question for ya'll.

Is it better to A) root my plants in the aero cloner then veg um inside under artificial lighting (T5-400-1000) before placing them outside Or B) Attempt to root cuts directly into soil outside in my small greenhouse with supplemental lighting and heat and leave them to veg in an enviroment closer to what they will exposed to in a couple of months.

You definitely want to root your clones indoors under a low intensity light T5. As soon as they are rooted veg them for as long as you want, then harden them off in the sun by sticking them in a greenhouse or weaning them into the sun. And that is all there is too that buddy. Good luck on this years outdoor attempt.

if your soil temps were warm enough ( but not too hot! ) , the air temps were right and you used a humidity dome and possibly some shade cloth, i bet you could get some cutting to root. I would imagine your success rates would be much lower, but it could be done. And the ones you did get to root would probably be far bigger than the others that came from inside....

my buddy sowed some seeds straight into his beds. his germination rates were lower but the ones that did sprout were vigorous growers!

dont bet too big on the clone in the greenhouse, stick with the safe bet, start em inside, but do try the method on a few and let us know if you got em to take!!! remember soil temps are huge as roots do not want to sprout in cool soil.

...I think one of my problems last year for sure was transplanting out of smart pots. Hella stressful...

Bags are a bitch to transplant out of, especially the fabric ones. Here's how we make our hard sided root pruning pots. They slide out of the plastic pots pretty easy this way, then just peel off the fabric.

Edit: The hard sided pots are also easier than the bags to move around too.

First two are 20gal rope handled tubs. Last one is a 1gal pot.

- This thread amazes me every time I look at it. It is one of the best threads on Cannabis ever, and one of the best on the internet in general.

- I have gone through every post and compiled the best stuff cutting out some of the banter and trying to edit and tidy up everything and summarize methodology. There is quite an extensive amount of information in this thread, and the pictures are the best.

- I seriously get funny feelings in my chest and stomach every time I see this thread. I could only wish and dream of joining the crew and sharing in the experience and work of growing TREES.

I keep word files on My desktop for easy access. Each one is a separate subject or person. ie I have a file named Tom Hill special training, and another Neville special training, Plant tissue work, pollen preservation etc. I just copy all the good stuff and drop it in the files.

We have been at other sites and lost all information before. Im more careful now..

Heres a couple plants that Im vegging indoors for the big outdoor run this year. The one on the rightr is Headband (from Honeydew) and the one on the left is an OG kush/Afghani Hybrid. Its my strongest kush at the moment.

Heres another pic of the one on the left. This is from last summer. It got a real late start due to weather problems.

Thats a 300+ gallon hole.

My Son came by and picked up some Deep Chunk pollen I have in the freezer. He is going to pollenate a Chemdog 91 with it. He took some haze pollen as well.
