...The Greatest Rock Album Ever Made...

Some of you guys are mentioning truly great albums that should never be forgotten, but are pretty far off base when it comes to the general consensus of the "greatest rock album." First off you must round down the whole greatest band category. Because you cant have the greatest rock album without being arguably the greatest rock band. Lets round it down to our six most cited: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd and Metalica.

So are you saying the Beatles were a rock band, & I always thought they were a boyband/popgroup. likewise the Pink Floyd were hardly rock, they were almost a keyboard led band when dark side of the spoon came out. I thought rock was biased towards electric guitars. dont want pick hairs though! lol.
Oh well, nice to see 2 british bands there, the Jimi Hendrix's Experience & Led Zep.

Perhaps you have only heard of Please Please me, or Love me do, but did you know they released other albums after 1964? Some people think they are pretty decent. Seriously though, you are comparing a fabricated group of choreographed lip singers to the f*cking BEATLES? I want you to listen to me very carefully; put the bong down.

Aaaand that's it for the new . Nothing else has been innovative in the rock scene since the tragedy of '94 . Well , besides the usual NIN , Sonic Youth , Placebo or even The Doves type of solid album release type of band .

Reminds me of those Greatful Dead prints .

Beatles- Most albums from Revolver on(the fathers of modern Rock????)

Led Zeppelin- 2 and 4 (The fathers of hard rock/metal)

Pink Floyd- Dark side of the Moon(the most original album ever?)

Nirvana- Nevermind(all grunge and hard alternative bow to them)

Foo Fighters- The shape and the colour(this album is good from start to finish, one of the few I don't skip a song or two at least)

Metalica- The black album(another album good from start to finish)

The best at any one time would have to be Marilyn Manson's latest & greatest. He just keeps outdoing himself with each new release.

I like most all the stuff mentioned but have a special place in my heart for some oldys, like Pink Floyd's Ummagumma (esp "Several species of small furry animals gathered together in cave grooving with a Pict), King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King (esp 21st Century Schizoid Man), and Jimi's Electric Ladyland. Lately I been liking the new Ghosts album from NIN a lot, like most of Trent's stuff. I have a collection of albums from the 60's and 70's that I have now most all on CD and ipod. I keep buying stuff too. Doesn't take much.

My favorite guitarist of all time? Hands down baby, it's gotta be Jimi. God, how I loved that man, and still mourn his loss.
