It is not wanting the military to take over. It's wanting the Military to do it's Constitutional duty and protect the Republic.

and for them to have the authority to do that, they'll need more power than the president and congress. which would put us under military rule. which would be the end of democracy.

The thing that many people don't realize is that FDR was 'in' on the plot and was willingly going to surrender the US to this coup. The coup was launched with help from leaders of the Office of Strategic Services which later became The CIA.
