Tangerine -

^^ Gonna make a nice plant if I can protect her from the onslaught of the invincible mites.

:respect: on your photo skills - this is POM material for sure. Just gorgeous!

On the little tangerine, I know you hate chemicals, but.... She's small enough that you could upside down dip her in pyrethrin ( to assuage your eco-sense, it is chrysanthemum BO more or less ) and spray or bomb the grow area too, repeat in one week. If you had it real bad you could repeat once more in another week. They should then be gone for good. With winter coming up you should be reinfestation free for the next half year:yes:.

Heya Peoples

Insomniac - Can't win'em all :puppydoge But we should have a good season...I hope :ying:
Tangerine's been growing naturally like that from clone. I really do have to veg one out for a long time and have a super huge Tangerine bush :yoinks:

Mr GreenJeans - You are always the go to guy with the killer info  Tanks eh!
I did find a no-pest strip, though I havn't been in to check the ladies in over 48 hours since I placed it in (on my way now). Anything else I'd have to order online, and I'm a procastinator. If this no-pest strip has no immediate affect I'm going to have but no choice to follow your advice.
It's dropping below freezing round here overnights now so I don't expect many living outside my growroom right now.
Thanks for the compliment on the pic  I'll hafta show you a whole shot of the plant though in the next update, she is a scrawny ugly bitch with very nice frosty buds. I'm sure I'll be lucky to smoke a 1/2 ounce of that trich covered madness, but we'll see what time does.

Still not sure about my cloning methods and how successfull I am.
Tangerine is the only plant I seem to be able to successfully clone.
I still have the 3 BB cuttings and they look good. They've been in water for about 25 days now. There's a couple white bubble stubs on the stem, but no definate roots yet, so I put them in soil.
I'll let that be the deciding factor now.

Don't know if anyone saw this earlier, but I was wondering anyones opinions on these:

Gonna be tough next few weeks to get regular updates in, but I'll still be around
Happy Thanksgiver everyone! mmmm....Turkey :yummy:

Hiya TML
Thanks mate! Always willing to flap my trap about what I know... Betcha that no pest strip did the trick...

Re: cloning - as long as you have some success, you will fully succeed in the end. Gotta suss out your conditions and adjust. I have no doubts. Also some strains are tougher to clone than others... I've met some folks who only grow seed plants, finding it easier than cloning for them.

The leevalley link was truncated - they have some interesting stuff - I assume you were pointing to the gel rooting system? Could work... ya wanna do some testing?

Busy next few weeks, eh? Takes that long to digest your turkey dinner? J/K... Hope your busy season passes quickly, will be keeping my eye out for ya!

Eh guys

packn2puff - Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I appreciate it. I know you'll always be back, you're a pot smoking/growing lifer! :bandit:

Mr GreenJeans - The pest strip seems to be working. I caught only a few lurking on the leaves on my last check. I turned the fan off, and moved the light up a bit for today and did a good UN style fan leaf wipe to hopefully wipe out any eggs/nests before they even have a chance :angrymod:
I figured the fan circulating too much air might have been giving them a fighting chance
Thanks for noticing the link. Yes the gel cloners were what caught my eye  I'll just go ahead and pick that up next time I'm at Wal-Mart. I'll test them out
Always seems when the future looks busy we always make a little time for the things we love. Next couple weeks do look pretty hectic though :biglaugh:

Underground Man - Welcome to the thread. Thanks for the comps
Was my first summer season growing. I guess the bugs come with the territory of growing the plants  I'll be much better prepared next year.

The Budfather - I don't want that beast anywhere near my plants! He'll eat the mites alright...while he's chompin down on a whole fan leaf! :biglaugh:
Mites do suck though and I've learned some valuable lessons this year. They shouldn't be hassling me anymore. Hopefully ever.

User Name - I've seen how easily you pop out root systems and I am jealous :moon: However...I'm much too lazy and untalented in the arts of construction to even build something so simple :pointlaug :bat: I'm going to try these cloning gel cubes (I updated the link up there ^ if you wanna check them out) I'm sure I can even find a way to cheap out and cut every cube into like 4 or something too :sasmokin:hehehe
Don't my BB look quite similar to your Fighting Buddha F3? Let's me know my gifted genetics are actually what they were sposed to be

I'll get some pics in soon

yes, i can absolutely see the blueberry. no doubt that clones has at least some blue in it, if not purely blue. the trichs on the leaves are a dead giveaway for me, same formation as the FB. what's she smell like thus far?

good luck with the cubes, to each his own. bubble cloning isn't for everyone, but once it's dialed there's no turning back :D

I'm guilty of the pest strip myself..It just works too damn good..But I only use it for a few days then when numbers(gnats) drastically stop..I put it away..
late veg is a good time to use it..plenty of time for any residuals to dissipate..before heavy flowers and harvest..it is a non food safe poison..just respect it..
it is a fairly powerful poison despite it's humble appearance..

Budfather...I'm gonna assume you are going to plug this into 120V residential power..
208V and 277V are common commercial lighting voltages 240V usually available in both..
This CWA ballast is hopefully marked on the wires..if not go by the diagram..
The Primary of Xformer is where power comes from the wall..The Secondary is where power goes to the lamp..

First the Neutral..White wires or labeled "Com", screw color; silver..plug; tallest prong..
using a wire nut, twist COM from X-former with A3 or X3 from ignitor with white on mogul (which is connected to bulb screw-in thread)
and with white(common) to the wall plug..4 wires total in this wire nut..

Capacitor goes across CAP wires...nut on each..two wires under each cap connection..

The center tap of secondary A1 (sometimes X's used instead of A's..like X1) connects to A1 or X1 of ignitor..two wires under wire nut..

Next is HOT from secondary of transformer..
Transformer connects with A2 or X2 of ignitor and with black of Mogul base (Which is connected to the Center bulb connection)..three wires under wire nut..
Getting the bulb socket wired correct is important (neutral "COM" won't shock you..
but HOT will, so you want it wired where you can't touch it without the bulb out of the socket..
wired correctly you can touch the exposed portion of the base and not get shocked)

Finally the wall plug..already connected the white wire COMMON above..
now connect the black wire "HOT"(short prong on plug, screw color; gold) to the 120V Tap on the Primary of the X-former..two wires under nut..
Connect the Green or bare wire GROUND (round prong on plug, screw color; green) to a transformer mounting bracket with a ring terminal(one of the screw holes on the X-former)..

That's it 6 wire nuts and a ground ring terminal held by mount screw..plug it in and grow plants..
Mount parts in a metal box..preferably vented or aluminum..
Clip any exposed conductor off unused 277V, 240V, & 208V tap wires..
tape with electrical tape or use wire nuts to keep them from coming in contact with anything..

Hope that helps BF..

The Budfather - Sorry, I've been dreadfully busy lately. Havn't got around to checking in much lately.
Lucky for us PN2P showed up and bam problem solved  good thing too, cuz I have no clue, mine was pre-built and remoted, I just plug in the cord

User Name - She's very fruity smelling. Blueberry/Grapish and sweetlike. No skunk type smell on her at all.
I'll try out these gel cubes, if they don't work out for me..I'll hafta break out the big guns

packn2puff - Pest strips work, no doubt. Thanks for the heads up on the poison though, I too put it away after a few days. I think the coast is clear now, but I'm gonna break it back out just once more in case anything hatched late.
Awesome write up on the HPS wiring. It's a great piece of info to have in my thread :woohoo: I'm sure BF appreciates it too :respect:

Check Out the updates....

7622Tangerine_Day_21-2.jpg

^^^^ Didn't get a very good stretch this time...I think because of the colder temps. Gonna hafta veg Tange out more in the cooler temps, her size is gonna affect my yield.

Sorry for the limited response and updates lately guys, I'll be back in full swing and have my time back before Halloween comes

Enjoy :lurk:

Double WOW! Those are sure BLUE! Look luscious, as to your tangerines already! Man, you are gonna be the all around tangerine expert! Not many folks grow a plant long enough to see size differences with grow temps! :respect: Nice grouping of tops on that tangerine too!
