Okay, I guess I cant keep stalling any longer... and everyone should know whats been happening...
So after the last run which was ages ago, I cleaned up and tidied shit away... in prep to make the giant leap from soil to hydro... like chimp to astronaut, over night...
It took a while to get all the necessities, which were more than I thought they'd be... also not so simple to ship stuff here, something about "import duty tax" and then everything needing to be declared... and what its use is... with Canna branded agricultural supplies do you think Id need to say what I need it for... Anyway Iv heard that working for the postil service is like having every childhood xmas and birthday you had as a kid on one day, but this day happens everyday you go to work... and plant matter they aren't so keen on... coco is plant matter right..?
So I cleaned and I cleaned, tossed a mom and repotted the others. I lost some clones. I cleaned some more. I washed coco, I washed it again. I learnt about drawing water. I learnt what pH and ppm stood for. I cleaned shit. I read some books. I bought perlite. I bought vermiculite. I bought buckets and I bought tote's. I dropped my dropper in the pH down. I learnt what my tea spoons measure in at. I learnt from the best how to pop seeds. Then I learnt how to over water them and kill them. I learnt from learning from the best to pop more seeds. Then I learnt that I may be mere hours away from learning that Im a chimp, or at least have chimp qualities... But Iv learnt that chimps can learn too. I learnt that from watching The Discovery & Nat Geo. channels. You should what that shit some time.... clever chimps...

Im trying, but yeah, maybe not so happy wiff the results...
So here we go... I fucked up my first pack of slh... so after my mistakes were pointed out by highly respected help[actually I was told pretty much exactly what to do and I didn't quite follow the considerate instructions closely enough[coz Im a chop]] I tried to gather what very lil dignity I had left and proceeded with another bash at it. Between me and everyone on the internet, having a post like this[or many, like, since I signed up] is pretty much like being properly pantsed in high school during year end assembly... even if you shouldn't be ashamed bout you knob, even if you were sporting the biggest throbbing custard chucker ever, everyone would still be pissing themselves with laughter....
So I lucked out, a mate brought me some packs last summer, a 7 pack... I have the packaging still... old black round one... I made up a lil OGBiowar up, and put the seeds in a moist paper towel, inside a ziplock bag and placed just above a heating pad, just as I was taught[you know who you are shot bro!]
So I got them moist wednesday night the 9th of september.
Friday night the 11th of september, two nights later.
Okay now the catch.... my "first" catch... before I soaked this pack I was told that I really needed to figure out wtf happened with the first pack... smartarse answer: I happened.... real answer: First piece of the puzzle is my coco is loco... I was advised[I listened here] to do numerous slurry tests and figure out how the coco should act next round, as not to wreck any more seeds... I worked out that A: My tap water needs to stand at least 4-5 days for the pH to settle, this is without nutrients added. So say I draw a bucket and pH it correctly and let sit 24hours and check pH again it would have risen. Okay, secondly B: my coco that I have raises pH too, like instantly, 2 seconds later, I was told to keep measuring my run off pH, even when flushing, makes total fucking sense, if the run off is higher than whats going in[cups of coco, no plants in it] the water thats left sitting in the coco is the same or higher than that of the run off.... ie the coco is changing the pH of the solution almost instantly... wtf... Ill say it again, wtf....
So what, Iv always gotta water to run off and measure it's pH so I know what the pH is of the solution inside the bucket/cup... and the longer that water sits in the bucket/cup of coco its pH gradually rises... Iv done like 25 different slurry test on this one block on coco mind you...so I need to flush out old water almost daily with new water to get the pH of the buckets/cups back down to where it needs to be....
So I took enough coco to fill up a few more cups than I needed and put that in a bucket and made a big slurry... I added down untill the slurrys test was 5.8pH.... I then wrung out the excess and mixed in a lil OGBiowar and filled the cups.... and in they went....
On friday night...
Im using a diy hood[coz Im a redneck] and a 400w mh bulb... just for the starts... I was told 20 on 4 hours off is the best but like I said, redneck, so Im running 18 on 6 off... temps have been around 25dC and 60%RH lights on, lights off, um haven't sorted that yet...

Cant remember exactly but I think this was on sunday morning....
I know there's a lot of debate between wether seedlings need a lil feed or pre charge or what have... I went with the old school theory that seedlings feed off the cotyledons and light the first few days...

So come day 6 they weren't looking how they should have been.... and I needed to do something quick so this round didnt turn out like the last...
I made their first lil feed up in oder to get some flush out that I could measure... I made the feed 300ppm... with a low pH.... I flushed a seedling and measured pH.... to high, way to high, so more down into the solution and flushed untill I got the run off as close to 5.8pH as possible... then I did another two seedlings...
