The Blueberry Trials

Here is my Blueberry Sativa pheno of Tripleberry. She goes from sour blueberry to spice to blueberry muffins by harvest. I've been around lots of blueberries and berry strains but to get a blueberry muffin consistently indoors and outdoors is something I've finally found.

She's got the BB Muffin smell wet and dried where as most fall short during drying. The taste however is ultra sweet and vanilla like with a little spice and faint blueberry undertones, I'm hoping some further breeding and dialing should produce some more blueberry forward taste.

She is very vigorous.... and a little rangey, here she is Sept.27 at 45N after multiple frosts.

This BBsativa pheno was bred to a few Tripleberry x GodBud/White Rhino males, I intend to do a backcross indoors and look for even tastier and unique phenos.

If anyone in California/Oregan that's growing trees wants a try let me know, vigor of this caliber would be interesting to see in a climate that is much kinder.

I have 6 peak seeds blueberry females, phenos are all over the place. Some sweet smells a few weeks in to flower but nothing that screams blueberry yet.

Yeah definitely has some sativa characteristics, she's very calming and non-intrusive unless over done. Let's you go about your day happily in lower doses, no grogginess or slowing. Definitely rings the bell in a different way when over indulged, however.

Good thing she finishes quickly too.

I can report my first GFxBB by Chimera seeds. I had 4 plants survive seedling stage, all were female. Different phenos smell wise. Two more earthy smelling plants, one straight cheese smelling and one sweet blueberry muffin/blueberry jam pheno. All of them have a very nice and strong stone to them. Nice and soft oldschoolish buds. Love it.

I'll settle down and read this thread later... years ago I had a dutch passion blueberry - the taste was very blueberry and moreish but it used to give me paranoia - lying in bed wide awake with cold sweats. Maybe I smoked too much because the taste was that good...

I just ran some of dj's breeders choice mix 2. This gear has 4 different females crossed to a new male from the same fruity kush seed lot. I found all kinds of interesting, unique, great ladies. From cherry floral, to cherry cola, to the closest representation of the 95 blueberry that got me turned on to this blue cannabis journey that ive been on ever since.
To be clear, this seed release is from stock thats pre 98, or before dj's current offerings of blueberry n flo. Similar genetics to all the other seed co.'s that dj worked with in the 90s. So if your looking for stock that was pre current era, this is the one id grab up.

MM, this is both excellent and crushing news! So cool that he released genetics from that original generation, very obvious there is much to explore there in both the floral line (!!!!WOW!!) and the kush side.



Very sad that I have no monies to snatch this up haha. Oh well, many other things sitting in my stash that are special. No worries, really.


Love to see progress on this project, no pressure really. Cool idea that hopefully yields some information and good cannabis.

Howdy Folks!

2019 sucked. Health problems and every other damn thing that could go wrong did. 2020 is going to be much different. I apologise for starting this thread and letting it fizzle. Let's get back on track..

The latest news in the hunt for Blueberry has produced an amazing strain. It is actually ticking so many boxes I am going to get more seeds and spend a good amount of time and space searching these genetics.

Bluedigiberry!

I wound up with 5 females and they were all quite different. The amazing thing to me was they are all keepers! These plants were flowered in ProMix under a 600 and an LED in a 4x4 tent. Night time temps were between 55-58, daytime 65-70. Humidity was all over the place. And mid flowering I spent two weeks in the hospital so they got plain water for two weeks.

This grow was terrible conditions humidity wise and cold nighttime temps. The end result was plants that did extremely well. Yield certainly suffered. I have these plants cloned and they are currently revegging to be mother plants. All worth another run under better conditions. Let's just say BlueDigi is a resilient plant that will produce stash quality bud under less than optimal conditions.

So did it taste like Blueberry? Uh, yes, it sure as hell does!

As these plants flowered they filled the room with blueberry aromas that ranged from fresh blueberry to candy blueberry syrup. Bright fresh acidic blueberry smells on my person after sniffing and working around the plants.

One plant the lowest yielder, has more of a blueberry Ludens cough drop kind of flavor that has an extremely hashy exhale and mouth coating blueberry Ludens aftertaste. This plant is my least favorite as the effect is the most indica, cloudy, zero motivation nighttime type stone. That mixed with the medicinal taste isn't my favorite. I want to see what it does under proper conditions before forming a solid opinion.

The spear pheno reminds me of Dutch passions old Skywalker plant only in structure. The Spears have the hairs of the DJ blueberry and the plants reek of candy sugary sweet artificial blueberry. The taste is the same, right down to the finger burning roach. The smell after it is burned is room filling blueberry baked good. Muffins is a good description. Effect is potent and happy, mostly in the head but just the right about of body. Kick ass pot!

Next pheno is the blueberry fresh fruit smelling and tasting. Grew more like blueberry with big golf ball crystal covered sticky buds is a more bush type plant. Reeks of fresh blueberries, taste like fresh acidic blueberries intensely. Flavor lingers for a long time and I smoke too much because it tastes so good. This is holy Grail pot for me. This is what I have been looking for.

The effect is the blueberry effect I have been looking for. With the bluedigiberry though it is far more potent than any of the old blueberry lines I held. The added potency seems to make the shining qualities of BB that more intense. I couldn't be happier!

I am so excited to dial these phenos in to see the real potential. So far I'm so happy with the results of a fairly lousy grow, I think the future is very blue and bright!

I really have no interest in looking into more blueberry genetics. I supposedly have some DJ testers on the way and that is exciting, I can't wait to grow those, but I have found more than I was looking for with the Digi.

I've heard good things about blue digiberry.

Curious though why you ended up running, and then choosing as the winner, a blueberry hybrid rather than a pure blueberry seedline? On the first post you said no hybrids would be allowed.

Oh well. In the end all that matters is you found something you like, but after all the buildup in this thread, I was looking forward to a full on battle of the blueberries.

I stated in the beginning I was going to include Digi because it had the most reports of blueberry flavors and effects. I am really surprised myself that the first one was the one.

You know I was looking forward to a full on blueberry battle as well. Let's see if I can't do the side by sides of the Dutch BB lines against DJ's. What the hell why not. Can't have too much BB around!
