At what cost though....the man lies to you, me and all of America daily, the man lashes out in anger to a 16 yo activist cause he did not make the cover of Time and she did. The man demeans his perceived opponents with childish verbal nicknames....I could go on.
So, as long as your interests are benefited, you would trade what most would consider common decency, morals, integrity and some would say Christian values? Should they exist in any measure.
So, it is clear you made your choice....but again at what cost?

Tax payers should not be funding forest management to prevent wildfires from destroying homes, or beach replenishment to save homes, or flood plain controls to save peoples homes.
If you want to live in areas where natural disasters predate humans then that should be your problem. Raking 33 million acres of forest is lunacy to even suggest.
The answer to poor planning and or poor decisions is not to throw more money at them.

I was never wired to be a follower or need a role model. I have met people who I have a great deal of respect for and would make a good role model for those in need of one.
The media does not shine the spot light on those who could serve as role models for those who need one. Going back to JFK I can't think of a single president worthy of being considered a role model.
Politicians deceive as a matter of course which makes them horrible role models unless your goal is to be a sociopath.
i'll have to look it up but it's probably the same institute who did the study in 96.... urban institute i think they're called.
and yes my comment was a bit incorrect because it's more like 40% are either employed or looking for work.

Back in the 80's I moonlighted as a food vendor in AC. The visible local homeless population was small, maybe 20 - 30 people. I would feed 20 or 30 of them a night and employ one of them as an errand runner on a rotating basis. If one of those 20 - 30 people were asked if they were paid for work within the last 30 days they could honestly say yes.....but that didn't make them employed.

If you need 10 role models that's your cross to bare, you can have as many as you want.
I preferred to steer my children away from outsiders or media endorsed role models. My wife and I felt it was our job to serve as our children's role models. I'm guessing your parents were different. That's OK and I guess I can understand your need for a role model or two. It's just not something I support personally.
