did you visit ko phayam after pandemic? it is totally changed now. i don't recommend to go there anymore. the island is full of german all-inclusive sheeps and it's all about money business. also locals barely smile or talk to you. drunken people are driving fast with scooters.

i visited there in 2017-2018 and got that seedy brick you mentioned about. this is embrassing to say but it was probably the best high i've ever experienced in my life. most euphoric and positive happy smiley high that lasted for 4 hours. a couple of puffs were enough. since then i've been trying to find something similar strain but it seems impossible mission. also the smoke of it was super clean to inhale and exhale and it burned so smoothly. so good memories of that stuff. i was thinking if it was laced with something. can't be sure. consume too much and you might get hysterical laugh - or paranoia.

ko chang next to phayam was chilled place but i'm not sure if i wanted to visit there again. maybe it was too small and quiet for my senses. less activity but perfect for escaping city chaos.

now i'm trying to find a place that is like mix of phayam and chang. do you know any? (can be outside of thailand but in se-asia)

That's too bad to hear, I was there in 2016 and it was amazing. It felt like any normal small island aside from the shops near the port and a few bars/resorts here and there. A good Italian restaurant ran by an Italian woman and her husband iirc. Oh well, onward and upward I suppose.

I've heard Ko Rong in Cambodia is still laid back, but I haven't been there.

Pandemy is over and I still live on pandemy mode
This growing adventure is over, this was last season at this place. I need to move on. I enjoyed it too much and stretched it all I could but it is over
I hope new adventures will come, I hope I will be able to grow again, I never expected I was going to like growing so much, it is a whole new world for me and you never stop learning in this world

Reading other threads it is so impressive to see how seedsellers talk with such authority about things they dont have a clue, the way it goes it seems this is part of the western cannaworld and will never change. Everything becomes a myth and a legend, and the weed high is gone down the drenage
It is also impressive to read wrong things about the weed they sell
Man, I grew all these hazes they talk about and hype.
Too many wrong things even about basic things like flowering times, it is useless to correct, they will keep selling their bullshit

For me it always was, is and will be about the high, not about the terpenes or the smells, if it is about chocolate, vanilla or strawberry, I go straight to the next icecream shop to satisfy my needs for those terpenes. People hyping the smells of a cut of a feminized plant is impressive. The high of such plant is washed down, a cut of feminized plant is garbage, not even the first run of a cut is good. A feminized plant is only for smoking it and nothing else, it is not for breeding and less of all for keeping cuts. Cuts of feminized plants have no high Keeping cuts of a feminized plant and hyping about their smells by the most prestigious breeders means cannabis sativa is doomed


Experiences are different for everybody, your nationality and culture also play a role when travelling
I was a big customer of this visa run morning visit. Last time was 2006. That year the government of my country and Thailand signed a reciprocity visa on arrival agreement so now nationals of my country get 90 days on arrival and I stopped using the Kawthaung visa run

I smoked locally grown weed in all of these islands. All of it from seed coming from the brick. I found it on low season. High season only brick

I agree with you about brick weed being from Cambodia. The buds I smoked in Cambodia hit the same as the brick. The stock I smoked in Laos (my favourite country for visa runs, I was staying the whole visa there) was another level of weed and very different from the one in Cambodia. 2 levels up at least
I also think something happened around 2013 and the buck of the brick grow moved border to Laos.

Big Koh Chang in Trat province was a laid down place. There was a beach in the 20th century called lonely beach and I scored there buds easily. But it was a different time, a basic small bamboo bungalow hut next to the beach was 80 baht a night, the electricity was just a few hours at night with generators and it wasnt massive at all
In 2003 they started bringing down all those bamboo huts and replaced them with aircon hot shower and satellite TV bungalows
There was a big event in Europe that had a big consequence on south east asian tourism: the euro went from 0,80 euro per dollar to 1,20 dollar per euro, happened in 2004
The impact on tourism was massive. It was never the same again as it was before. From 1,5 million tourists by the millenia per year to 40 million tourists per year in Thailand just before the pandemy started the change is simply huge
Those bungalow aircon huts must be around 50u$s a day now in big Koh Chang.

I dont like going to small Koh Chang on high season, only rainy season is nice for me. Too many people and they treat tourist like cattle, they count heads. If you go alone you are not good customer on high season, massive tourism policies and development I am not a fan of them

You seem to know the science of botanics, I dont.

THH and the fast hazes being selected and sold now in general will tame your thai if that is what you want
The cambodian or any other sativa will give you F1 sativa plants

THH is famous for being a 5% line. It applies to males too
Most of my THH males were short and all of them were throwing pollen outdoors during summer solstice with more than 14 hours of light
I had only 2 THH males that revegged after 14 hours of light as I would expect of any sativa, all the rest were tamed plants and this is something you cannot see indoors

I think the only way to know is trying and testing. But some botany masters here at Icmag can predict outcome, it is very impressive
And for every environment the way to go is different. Growing pure sativas indoors is a pain

For me the best pollen donor for a pure sativa is another pure sativa line, a quality sativa line is the desirable pollen donor for me, but this is just me and the canna world has clearly chosen against this criteria.
In the canna world the pinnacle of breeding seems to be sativa x indica, the more tamed and purple is the cross the better it sells it seems
THH is hybrid as all of the hazes are

So what is better is one thing and what is better for you is another thing. I always choose the second option in real life

Seeds just arrived here so they will probably sex in around 45 days and should be small plants so I am running a few plants and leave the rest for the future
I dont know if plants kept in a private garden should be called landraces. I prefer calling them heirlooms

Mekhong Classic 6 from 6 seeds 4 pregerminated in 24 hours and the other 2 in 48 hs
Seed harvested December 2022, you can call it prelegalization


Phon Sawan weed 6 from 6 seeds. 5 pregerminated in 24 hours and 1 the next day
Seeds harvested february 2022. I like this. This is a feature western growers dont have. I like knowing year and month of harvest.
Every year is a different batch and not necessarily same quality.
Weed gets out of catalogue very fast at the canna world. I bought this weed 2 months ago and it is already sold out and description gone. I got interested in this one because they explained it is a high humidity resistant strain good for tropical and subtropical humid areas. I search on the web and I see Zomia has this one as Squirrel Tail #4

Squirrel Tail Phu Phan from 6 seeds, one pregerminated after 48 hours, 3 after 72 hours, 1 more after 96 hours and I hope the other one will show root. All of them needed to pull the helmet out manually

They call it hang karong. I never heard of it. Just a few years ago, 6 years ago was called ganja

These are the sprouted seeds, all of them are prelegalization. Whatever they harvest now in Thailand you can call it postneoprohibition

The line has 2 clear phenos, equatorial and tropical weed mixed
I like the tropical ones a lot more. So I am keeping and growing again the tropical P1s and their babies from the tropical father

These are Northern Thai 2008 babies. 12 babies from each girl 1 and 8. 18 babies are tropical and 6 of the babies are foxtail x equatorial boy. Need to check the equatorial boy too

NL5 x Hz Mr Nice.
I am selecting this one just because it is beautiful to see pink pistils. I have 2 girls making it but this one is making it on every bud, even the lowers. First time I see pink pistils on a haze line. I wonder if this pink pistil trait will pass to progeny.

This is a very vigorous G13 x Lemon Larry. Just in case I am taking a cut from this vigorous girl, have to see how this will fare in this humid weather. I never smoked any OG Kush, I wonder if I will like this.

Ninguna sativa tropical vale la pena para interiores. Y en exteriores solo entre lat 30N y 30S. Y se puede cultivar y extender esa zona de sativas unos pocos grados, no mas de 5 grados por encima de estas latitudes donde necesitas crearles un medioambiente o estar en un microclima
Si lo que buscas son plantas para interiores, no cultives sativas puras, en interiores son un dolor de huevos

La floracion de las thais no es muy larga, para todas las sativas la floracion es de aprox 3 meses. Mas 3 meses de vegetativo tienes la planta lista para cosechar en 6 meses

A que le dices poca produccion? Que es una produccion satisfactoria para ti? Estas sativas thailandesas cultivadas en vertical a 3 mts de altura sin podas apicales de ningun tipo te dan 100grs de cogollo seco aprox. Yo no las podia cultivar mas alto que eso. Si las dejas crecer 5 mts de alto te deberian dar muchisimo mas. Lo que es poco productivo son las plantas hermafroditas

En lo que sí estamos de acuerdo es en lo de muchas hermafroditas en estas semillas que venden en Thailand.
Si miras los videos de strain hunters vas a ver que esta lleno de travelos polinizando los campos.
Lo que cultive este año de Thailand salió asi:
Phu Phan 2 travelos sobre 5 plantas
Mekhong Classic 4 travelos sobre 5 plantas
Phon Sawan 4 travelos sobre 5 plantas. La hembra de esta linea es la que tiene la mejor fragancia de las 3

100 gramos en una planta de 3 metros es muy poco diría yo.
Con la potencia indeterminada lo decía porque me pareció leer en tu hilo que algunas quizás no valdrían la pena no sé si lei mal.
Muchas hermafroditas sí, más de la mitad. Es la mala fama de las tailandesas.
Entonces descarto estás variedades para interior ... Aunque son baratas pero mejor no perder el tiempo.

Was till now 45 times in Thailand comming from Europa.
Just for fun.I was a Mercedes S-Class test mechanic.The King now was ca.2010 or so only the Prinz. He have in Bangkok a castle with ca.500 cars,mostly Mercedes and BMW.He had problems with a few cars,the Mercedes shop in Bangkok can not fix it.We was invited via Lufthansa business class and 5 star Hotel at the Sukhumwith Road.He paid for everything,he ist the most richest royal with 45 billion US Dollar.He is a Pilot of the Thai air force,fly him self in his Boeing most of the time to Germany.
He had problems with his Boeing, he invited people from Seattle!
Could tell you more but want not arrasted in my next travel.Never tell something Bad about the king!
