Hello, i am very much a novice, and i have always thought that the exotic and distinct flavours that people described were excaturated or just invented in their minds, as i thought that weeds were just weeds that albeit smelled good, just smelled a bit different from each other.
I grew some 'growdoc mix' and i was smelling one of the plants and i thought 'that smells sweet', and i couldn't put my finger on what it was, then the thought of bubble gum came to mind, i think it smelled like bubble gum.
Then i realised that some of the growdoc's mix' are bubblegum crosses.
I don't know if that will help anyone but i just thought i'd share the story.
