Thanks!

Yeah I'll include cold pressed neem oil into my IPM sprays every week, but I'll mix it up with additions to that recipe like essential oils, aloe vera 200x powder, FulPower (fulvic acids) and stuff like that. Also I'll brew up some EWC slurries and spray that biology onto the fan leaves every month or so to keep things running smoothly.

Thanks TM, would you happen to have any ratios for those such as how much neem oil per gallon of h2o or Fulpower etc?

thanks and sorry to ask for all that, its that I'm about to start a new 5 gallon and a 7 gallon, thought I had enough soil mix for 2 10's but decide on a 5 and 7 for this run until a new batch of soil can be made, just got back from the States and was able to sneak in a lot of my BAS items, shipping anything here and customs takes anything that is or looks like a fertilizer or seed and such, so have to do it all the sneaky way!

Items I got here now are these and my genetics, super happy to say the least!

Fullpower
Agsil
TM7
Aloe 2xx
cover crop 15 blend
Organic yellow corn from BAS
Alfalfa meal
Kelp meal
Neem Oil
Fish Hydrosolite (BAS)
neem/karanja mix 50/50
Organic EWC (local company well respected)
Lava Rocks and also Cocoa shells which I think will use as a mulch? crushed up
Dragonfly EM Lush Roots/Fat Flowers

seeds soaking now are: 1 HSO 707 Headband
1 HSO Blue Dream

Both will be vegged under a 400w mh 24 cycle, topped 1 time then transplanted into those 5 and 7 smartpot.

1 will be flowered indoors under 600w hps in a 2x4 tent and scrogged, and the other outdoor in my 10x8 sun garden green house here in the Mountains, it's summer now and the weather is beautiful every day, highs in the 80 to 90 range with 35%rh and then drops at night to 60's with 50 or so rh and in the green house I'm sure I can dial the plants nicely.

Here 10 degrees north of the equator it's 12/12 all day everyday and so the reason to try 1 indoors and out, but, both vegged inside until flower time. Would like to keep you posted on here and in PM if possible? thanks and have a great one.

and all the coconuts I need!!!

I've read anecdotal reports that they are indeed good for SST and offer the plant a unique immune system strengthening nutrition and enzyme profile

I'd say use em or do a half-half barley/canna seed tea. I don't think it'll hurt at all.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@ TM - Do you trim your cover crop? I have had mine in for a little over a week and the barley grass and clovers are 4+ inches tall! I can seriously watch them grow lol.

That's a great line up you got there! I like those genetics as well, you should create a new thread and keep us all posted in there! Post the link over here though of course, or put it in your signature like some people do. You've gotta have some intense sun down there! I'd love to grow outside there...

That last thread was breathtaking. Can't see what this one has in store

Thank you w4tch!

Me either, I'm kind of farting around here in between runs because I want things to be proper before beginning. I decided to take the 10 & 7 gallon pots I'm no-tilling and put them in my veg room for mothers, and am currently filling and composting my new mix in (10) 25 gallon pots for the main room. I'm excited to see the difference in plant size and quality between the 10's and the 25's, I'm running the same cuttings this run as I did last run, so I'll be able to compare those pictures in this thread as well. I figure it's best to begin my long term pots sooner rather than later, and bigger is always better so I wanted to bite the bullet and take the extra 4 weeks out to make the transition. I've got enough meds to last me til next harvest, so hey why not?

MM said somewhere on here that it's not so much the depth of the container but more about the surface area of the topsoil. He preferred squared pots to round for that reason. When I was reading about growing in beds, most guys said they thought they grew better at a 8" depth than a foot or higher. Thought that was interesting.

Very interesting, that kind of makes sense if you think about it...

Dry sifting - as I wait for the next run to begin

Dry sifting - as I wait for the next run to begin

Well folks, in between harvests I find myself smoking and enjoying myself quite often... and I feel every grower deserves to do this after all the work required to get from seed to harvest day. Don't forget to take time out for yourself!

picture.php

I've been learning the art of dry sifting this week, and after 7 days of failing miserably I can confidently say that I can pull some A grade full melt resin from my flowers finally. What really saved me time was the static technique - I wrap a credit card in parchment paper and brush off contaminant into one pile, and gland heads into another. So I'll bounce crushed up/whole buds on the 140u, and then lift it off to reveal the resin that's fallen through to the 73u screen. After going through the entire pile on the 73u screen with my card, I'll remove everything left on that screen and then dump the pile of heads I collected from my card back onto that 73u screen to clean again. I'll repeat this process if the smoke test doesn't melt into clear dome bubbles. If I were entering this in a cannabis cup I'd clean it up 10x but I've found 2-3 times does a pretty good job (85%-95% gland heads). I've still got a ways to go until I hit 99% though, I am no SSMS or Bubbleman by any means yet.

picture.php

My sifting station - I have 2 more screens on their way in the mail this week, as well as a few tools to aid in getting sift with (brushes, cards, etc). I love D420K's YouTube channel on dry sifting, he's been a big mentor to me this entire week. I've watched all of his vids, and some of Bubbleman's as well. I can't believe how dirty the kief was that I smoked before! I would sift a 120u screen over and over and over... and wonder why the 2nd and 3rd sifts tasted nasty - they were mainly contaminant! DOH!

picture.php

Some Central Valley Kush lowers I'll be breaking down, freezing in mason jars, and then sifting later on this week. I've learned how important cold temperatures are when trying to extract those gland heads as well. They really do just pop right off of the stalks when the material is frozen, and when the environment is relatively cold. I've been leaving the window open next to my sifting table with a fan blowing -10F air into my room while I'm extracting to help things go smoothly, I think it's helping a lot too.

Does anyone else watch Hash Church here?

picture.php

Static tech - one side is positively charged while the other is negative, which separates the contaminant from the glandular heads. I highly recommend this to the sifters out there.

picture.php

Silver Lotus 73u full melt dry sift - this stuff clear domed for me last night and I was comatosed for 4 hours afterwards. Talk about a satisfying high lol. I woke up and ate way too much, then passed back out again. Had the best sleep of my life, woke up and took another fat rip to start the day today. Good hash will turn any bad day upside down, I can tell ya that much.

Does anyone know of any great hash-making strains out there? I've had great responses from Jack Diesel through the 120u screen, for some reason that single strain really did well for me 2 years ago. I just ordered 5 more JD beans solely for sifting, I can't wait to run it through the screens in 4 months!

Thanks TM for the recipe you use for the foliars. Yes, Im sure you know the feeling when you have all your items handy and ready to go along with genetics, makes the future look real bright! the sun is intense down here, it's actually reading 98 outside and it feels like 80. The reason it feels so nice is because of were I live which is just below the cloud forest line and the weather is almost always perfect up here so I am really excited to see how it all works out.

I read what you said on another post about liking to walk in the forest and hear the birds and see all the nature and that is my every day to be honest, truly blessed to live here and see all this daily. I actually have a beautiful small mountain stream next door filled with wild Rainbow trout that I like to go flyfish for after a good smoke! I will do my best to keep everyone here posted, seeds are soaking now and look forward to sharing the journey with you all.

I have several Bodhi strains and Pisces Genetics strains which I will run next after seeing your silver lotus! Take care for now.

Yeah, why not. The more roots the better! I'm sure the investment is a lot more (considering you're using 2-3 times the amount of soil and water). But, the reward from that will probably make any of that cost insignificant.

Did you ever hit the GPW mark last grow? If not, having 25 gals couldn't leave you short. I like how you're running the same lineup to make a comparison. This shall be VERY interesting. Count me in.

Im gunna make up a buildasoil order. I already placed the order for my genetics. Would you mind looking at my list when I'm done just to double check everything? Its so easy to miss little things like EM1 and theres so many different ingredients that I wouldn't doubt me missing one/a few.

I wanna make a little guerrilla thread this year (I might even have a few more years since I'm in a state that isn't favoring legalization much). I'm a little late on things right now but I'm looking to get caught up before the season is here!

Yeah I think it'll make a difference as well. I did not hit the GPW, I would've needed to hit 1200 but I came up short at 995. I did have a few testers scattered around the tent though, they only gave me an oz per plant (Easy Street from Cannadivine) compared to the 4 oz plants that were besides them. I'm gonna hit that GPW mark this run, I simply won't have it any other way lol

Nice man, nah I wouldn't mind looking at it - let's see what you got :dance013:

Def make a thread for your outdoor grow, they're fun for everyone to follow along. I can't wait to start my thread. April 20th is when I'll begin to pop seeds...

No problem brother, anytime.

I'd be pretty grateful to live there myself by the sounds of it... what a great place to grow too. That trout stream water would be amazing to feed to your girls if you can do that somehow... talk about beneficials! I'm trying to locate some trout streams myself to pump water from for a few patches I dig this spring. They usually snake through properties fairly well which is great, the only fear there though is that stream drying up come late-summer

Nice looking dry sift. The static tech really helped out there.

Thanks man :tiphat:

What kind of EWC does Wally world have? That's the main thing that stuck out - make sure it's a high quality casting or it could be introducing some "bad guys" to the soil instead of the good. I like to fill the bulk of my mixes with BAS 2 yr old aged compost if I can't find anything locally. It's like $20 per 4 gallons though, kinda pricey but it's of high quality for sure.

Are you recycling this soil mix? Or going no-till? Rice hulls degrade after a few cycles so if you're using this mix long term then adding some pumice or lava rock is a good idea to keep aeration levels up around that 30% mark. Everything else looks spot on though. I would stray from Home Depot unless you're getting peat moss, their mulch is usually dyed and no good. If they have organic wood bark mulch without dye that would be awesome to use though. I chop up straw after I buy it by the bale from my local nursery. I've had the same bale for a year now, the stuff really goes a long ways.

$20 for 4 gallons?! That's half a cubic ft?! Get their oly fish mountain compost. It's 2 cubic ft for $27. I get bags for $7 :nanana:

Home Depot sells premier peat moss but you might have to order online. Supposed to be good quality. $12 per bale.

Certain wood bark can change ph, so I used a combo of leaves and coco chunks.

I swore I thought walmart carried EWC.
I can get wiggle worm EWC, 30lbs $28, know of anywhere or anything better or cheaper?

I'm gunna go no till. I was reading about the 50:50 lava rock/ rice hull in your indoor thread! I try to not ask questions that have already been answered. Since I'm no tilling, i might just use the hulls.

2) How often should i feed them coco water?

3) In each 50 lb bag of hulls there is about 7.5 cu ft? Just trying to calculate how much 1/3+1/3+1/3 will be. The amendments I'm just gunna buy in bulk and say fuck it.

the 40$ a cubic foot for that BAS is killlller, that's put me right at $50/3 cu foot before the amendments. I've seen some homemade compost on craigslist for DIRT cheap. I think its only leaves and mulch. Some guy had some with manure for 30$ a cubic yard, sifted. He said there is no smell because its been aged for a while. I dont know much about compost. Can i email you the listing maybe?

Thanks homie
