tb man that's a neat operation you got there.
Would you say that the holes in the tubs helped with the aeration of the soil?

Cheers

ant defense??

ant defense??

Hi Everybody, I'm new to this forum and have just been getting into swamping adventures. Recently I had seven little monsters doing very well in 5 gallon buckets, great grow mix and good moisture distribution. On my last visit four were wiped out by ants. I returned and tried several things.. I put cinnamon around the inside of the buckets, greased the rims, and sprayed some neem oil on them. Yesterday I visited and there was only one left. The only difference was that this one was in a bigger bucket. My hope is that someone will have a sure fire ant defense solution... Please help me out...

Thanks..

Hey southswamp there is thread dedicated to pest control. Might have some answers for you. Try typing this into google "icmag.com: fire ants"

My hat is off to you Thunder Bunny. The pictures of your site are so cool. I have a mind to saddle up right now to go check out my humble swamp grow, just from the inspirational imagery you have been kind enough to share here.

@Greens it is indeed a special treat to hear from one of the pioneers of swamp tube growing, and unless I am mistaken, your associate Breeder Brad was the first person to coin the term "swamp tubes" over at the Cannabis Culture website, many, many moons ago.

Naming a few local legends of swampology here in the IC Mag website, names like Oldster1, Two Heads and Rosetta Stoned come to mind, and I must confess I acquired a little bit more know how from each and every one of those very experienced swamp gardeners.

The only thing worse than growing in the swamp, is NOT growing in the swamp ha ha ha.

Im anxious to explore some new swamps, and marches, as soon as the fucking snow melts. Im planning to use bottomless homemade smartpots again. Ive used these recently with excellent results. This year I will def top them, bc I had some monster 15fts.. Really anxious to get out there. Gta pick up a pair of hip-waiters

Revolution, I'm considering a swamp grow(among other areas this spring), please explain about how the smart pots will work in a swamp. My area is a reedy cattail that doesn't dry out until july.
